   My husband and I normally go here for dinner, which is always amazing. Their filet medallions and mashed potatoes are chefs kiss. Service is always top notch. But today we went and tried their brunch for the first time and WOW. Was not excepting it to be that good. My husband got the is quits and gravy and I got the French toast. The French toast was made from thick brioche bread and it was so soft and had so much flavor. And portions were big! Another great experience at 1808.

   Food and drinks were great. It took over 5 minutes for anyone to come to our table. There were several open tables so it didn’t appear that the server was just busy. Not a great look for a first visit to a restaurant. The food was excellent, drinks were great. It picked up from there. Service was never remarkable, but adequate.

   Other than waiting over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were seated, food and service (afterwards) was great. We will definitely go back. Food was very good. Excellent value. We ordered the smashburger, shrimp &grits, and chicken pecan salad. All were excellent!

   Excellent meal (scallops!) Very good service--one of our waitresses was training but she'll be very good. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended

   We ordered steaks and they were excellent and cooked to perfection. The house salad was also wonderful. Would highly recommend going here for dinner.

   Our waiter, Noah, was great! Very friendly and shared great information on menu items. Roasted cauliflower appetizer was great. Bread and butter appetizer is usually good but the bread was hard and dry this time. Everything else was very good.

   The cocktails are mostly classic with their own twists, and they work! The food is always prepared perfectly and presentation is on-point. A gem hidden in downtown Delaware!

    Usually I rate 1808 a "5" - but last night I was very disappointed in the Caesar Salad - I like the salad at 1808 because I can add anchovies. The salad came in a large bowl instead of on a plate - which was odd; and it was essentially a bowl of chopped romaine (like a grocery store bagged salad) - and there was very little - almost nonexistent dreassing, and a few strands of cheese, plus maybe 3 small croutons. A few anchovies were on top. It was completely unacceptable. I asked for Parmesan cheese and more anchovies, which were provided, but the salad was still "blah." The waiter did take it off the bill. I am concerned about this inconsistency. Other guests around me seemed to receive a correctly prepared Caesar salads. Also, we had to ask for pepper - NO pepper grinder was provided, just regular table pepper (!!!) ??? Odd. I also felt that our entrees were rushed - my guest wasn't finished with her salad yet. I typically bring guests to 1808 who visit me in Delaware - but will not if 1808 is going to be inconsistent.
