Waited over an hour for food. Pasta was cold and salmon (ordered medium well) came out rare. Had to send food back twice and it still cost us nearly $100. Overall, food and service was incredibly disappointing... We will never return here.

I've been to 18 Seaboard 3 times, and lucky for me, I found the salmon on the first visit.

There are several choices for sides, but order the wood-fired salmon! I peruse the menu
each time I'm there, but the wood-fired salmon I can't pass on, and am never disappointed.

Extremely professional staff with tasty extras from the kitchen, all complimentary. I've never been to a Michelin 5 star, but this is how I always imagined it would be.....I'll be back!!

Reservation was as promised. Wine at the bar was very good and we did not feel crowded. We were seated at our table and promptly greeted by our waitress. The bread was served nice and warm with a good balance of crunch in the crust and soft center. The flavor was very good. I ordered the grilled salmon and my date had the crispy catfish. The salmon was prepared medium and the outer portion was done, however a good portion of the center was raw that I did not eat. I know you do not overcook fish since it is mostly water but this was a long way from being overdone. The mashed redskin potatoes were only slightly warm and their flavor was mundane to say the least. My last side item was a "collard slaw". I tasted it several times but could find nothing redeeming in how it was prepared or tasted. I know chefs like to be creative but what you did to those collards is a crime against nature. The presentation and ambiance was very nice. Unfortunately the food was a big let down and based on my experience I would have a hard time justifying a return visit.

As always great dinner, have never had a bad meal there. I would like to see some some new items offered though as opposed tot just some seasonal changes. Maybe time for several new items. But what do I know.

The night started off well, but both the apps and entrees dragged to come out. Service was good and they informed us of the timing, and actually bought a dessert that we didn’t order for us, but I thought it would’ve been nicer to just buy the dessert we actually ordered vs giving us an extra one that was barely eaten. Entrees tasted great and app did as well. My advice to them is if the food takes long to come out and we buy a dessert to offer that on the house. Still 4 stars and we would return.

Just wasn't impressed. Food was good, a little overpriced for their serving size though. Server was knowledgeable but lost his wine tool and it took a while to get our initial water. Did like that there was an assortment of craft beer though. Probably won't be back

Excellent food and service. I had the filet, it was cooked exactly how I wanted it, but was a little dry to be medium rare. Still very good, and will be back soon.

Nice atmosphere, wait staff told us that the meals were “same old food with a twist”. So we were not impressed. Medium steak had no pink in It at all so it was over cooked. The catfish was very good and the mashed potatoes were perfect otherwise not impressive so we would not go back.

Excellent food and very good at accommodating food allergies. Service was a little slow due to a large (50 people) party in another room.

I took my wife for an early Valentine's Day dinner and was not disappointed. We had been at 18 Seaboard a few years ago and had a pleasant experience. This visit was the same. It is a great place to have a nice quiet romantic dinner. It was worth the extra cost.

Went here for restaurant week. We were greeted by the owner which was very nice. Dinner was great, but we waited an hour for our meal. Manager came by to apologize, and asked if they could get us a beer or a glass of wine. When the bill came, I was surprised the beer and wine were on the ticket. We didn't complain, but I felt that wasn't the greatest customer service. I'd still go back when it isn't restaurant week to try again.

Went to Sunday brunch with my son and daughter inlaw. Disappointing- my son got the biscuits and gravy with eggs- one small biscuit- about 3 T sausage gravy- very very small. I had salad and then meatballs just baked vs the sub- again tiny amount of food, same with everyone. The homemade little donuts were a great add on but 4 tiny ones only - one for each of us. I have eaten at most downtown spots for brunch and this was half the food of say Humble Pie or Tupelo Honey? Our server was not very attentive - we all had cocktails- he never came back to ask if we wanted another even? Nice atmosphere and food quality.

Prettiest soup that I’ve ever had. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and I think the soup was Sweet Potato Beet Bisque and it was delicious. They always have unique items and good service. If you don’t mind a long ramp there is decent access for a wheelchair or walker. Be sure the host understands you need a little extra room though.

Honestly was not very impressed with this establishment. We were seated and it took 25 minutes for our server to come to the table. We were actually in the process of leaving when the server grabbed us and asked us to stay. We did and were compensated with free items. After the serving debacle, the food arrived quickly and was pretty good. No complaints, but nothing to rave about.
The Sunday brunch menu is limited to say the least and not really worth the value.

Overall, will not be returning here again. There are many other seafood places to try that I am sure have a more extensive seafood menu and a better value.

When made reservation for two, did not realize would fall during restaurant week. Place was close to full at 6 pm on a Saturday. Decided to go three-course meals for restaurant week. # 1 Butterhead Salad, Tilefish, Coconut Tart. The salad was very good and the coconut tart was outstanding. While the tilefish was mild and flaky, it was served at room temperature and the sides were extremely dry. That and the fact that the initial glass of wine took forever to arrive came close to souring the evening for my companion. Meal # 2 was the Sweet Potato Bisque, Filet Mignon over mashed potatoes with roasted carrots and other veggies in a balsamic sauce on the side and Chocolate Hand Pie. The sweet potato bisque was quite good as was the filet mignon. Just the right side and the roasted veggies were great. The Chocolate Hand Pie has the appearance like a fried pie. It is very rich and sweet and comes with peanut butter mixed in. It was very good, but perhaps too sweet as last dish for the meal combo I selected. Waitress was nice, but hit or miss. Once she said, "Are you ready?" and when we started to list what we would like, she was walking away. Bread and butter were very good and fresh and the chef's compliments of sweet potato fritters was quite enjoyable. I will come again, but perhaps not during restaurant week. As an FYI, from where we parked, there were a number of exterior steps that had to be climbed to get to the restaurant entrance.

We ate here for Triangle Restaurant Week. The selections were varied enough to cover steak (husband says was one of the best he’s had recently), fish and vegetarian. The fish was a little overdone, but still tasty. The catfish rillette was the highlight of the meal. Both the buttermilk creme brûlée and the chocolate hand pie were superb with generous portions.

We always love eating at 18 Seaboard! The sauces are always exquisite, and even a dish that I’m unsure about ends up being delicious because of the flavor of the sauce. One of our favorite Raleigh fine dining spots!

I've had many great meals here, but the Triangle Restaurant Week lunch left much to be desired. The flavors were "dumbed down" while the portions were meager. Salad mix was added to every main course to look like there was more food than there was. The shrimp/steak skewer was over cooked. I think that the lunch charge should have been increased by $5, so that more/better food could have been offered.
