Had an amazing experience here on a Saturday night everything was amazing and we will be for sure return!
This restaurant used to be great, but we are moving on as it is fading. Food was mediocre - my cod was really dry, potatoes a bit undercooked. Everyone in our group felt their dish was ok, but nothing more. Service was just plain weird - trailing dishes for each course, coffee delivered promptly but the espresso took forever. Nice setting but not worth it this time.
We frequent 18 Seaboard fairly often and it is a favorite. Recently we have experienced service lacking. Our last dining experience had terrible service. We had to repeatedly ask for our check to end the bad experience which took an additional twenty minutes. Our waiter barely took notice of us the entire meal and was incredibly slow.
Service was excellent.
Two of our party of four got the pork shank. Both were slightly overdone. Good flavor but too dry. The blackened shrimp and the scallop special were both excellent. My Old Fashioned was disappointing. For dessert the mug of chocolate cake was very tasty.
She crab soup was the highlight of the meal. Best we have had anywhere. Entrees were ok. Did not live up to the description lacked seasoning but over all an ok meal. We would go back just for the soup and small plates.
Great chefs, great service, great restaurant
Our reservation was at 5pm on a Saturday. Food and service were very impressive, and the atmosphere evolved a lot as the restaurant filled up by 6:00. I highly recommend the flounder. Can't wait to go back!
We had relatives from out of town for the evening and chose to go to 18 Seaboard. We were heavily involved with conversation for much of the evening and our wait staff "tolerated" us so well, trying to keep us on track. It was most enjoyable with staff allowing us to remain at our table way past the anticipated time. I did keep an eye on the floor to be sure that there were available tables for arriving guests. We all ordered different entrees and all were well prepared and creative. All plates were cleaned!
The food is amazing, the atmosphere rich, food presentation outstanding and the wait staff is on point. Everyone makes you feel special. I drove 125 miles for lunch and will do it again.
Everything was outstanding. Food could not have been better. You can choose different sides and sauces with your entree so a lot of flexibility in the menu. All in all great food and we will go back!
Excellent as always. I tried the Bo Brohall shrimp and grits and wasn’t thrilled with it (thus the 4 stars for food). I prefer the regular shrimp and grits entree.
Had a girls lunch at 18 seaboard and was immediately impressed by the warmth of the staff and beautiful setting. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable but by far the most noteable was the food. The brisket kale salad was fork tender, flavorful and perfectly balance in texture and presentation. I would recommend this restaurant to any local or traveler for a wonderful meal and dining experience. Thank you to the staff/chefs of 18 seaboard; i was thoroughly pleased and impressed.
Trash. The service, from the hostess answering the phone to the server, was awful. It was an overall bad customer service experience coupled with just OKAY food that was ridiculously overpriced. This was a definite will not return outing.
Awesome service and phenomenal food!
My wife and I went to 18Seaboard for a much needed date night. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We normally don’t tip over 20% for service, but did so happily for the great and thoughtful service we received. Loved the fresh food options, too.
We went for lunch and were treated great. The food was amazing, as always.
Great restaurant with a really nice wine list. Great service.
In the past ten plus years of dining at 18 Seaboard, I have never had an unpleasant experience nor a meal that wasn't great. I have shared meals there with many family and friends; and have recommended many others to give it a try. We love it.
Delicious. 18 Seaboard had been around before the Foodie Evolution and continues to remain competitive at providing a great dining experience.
We grabbed dinner before a show downtown. The food was well prepared and locally sourced. Great drinks - cheers to the bar tender and the service was good. We were a short drive to Meymandi and parking was easy.
Never a bad meal at 18 Seaboard. The pork shank was fantastic; desserts were better.
Great experience. Food was delicious and service very good. We will be back soon.
Waited over an hour for food. Pasta was cold and salmon (ordered medium well) came out rare. Had to send food back twice and it still cost us nearly $100. Overall, food and service was incredibly disappointing... We will never return here.
I've been to 18 Seaboard 3 times, and lucky for me, I found the salmon on the first visit.
There are several choices for sides, but order the wood-fired salmon! I peruse the menu
each time I'm there, but the wood-fired salmon I can't pass on, and am never disappointed.
Extremely professional staff with tasty extras from the kitchen, all complimentary. I've never been to a Michelin 5 star, but this is how I always imagined it would be.....I'll be back!!
Male bartender that served us was awesome. Nice, attentive, enjoyable, very knowledgeable about wine and menu. Will come back often.
Excellent service. Food portion was perfect, looked a little small when presented but was actually just right. Ingredients were fresh and paired well. Wonderful date night spot, enough people to make it lively but not so noisy that a conversation was difficult.
Great as always! Tina is a wonderful server, and we will ask for her again.
One of Raleigh’s restaurant gems! Food is always good, great service and wonderful bartenders.
The service at Seaboard was outstanding. When four friends met for lunch, two had dietary restrictions (one has an allergy to onions.) To be safe, the no-onions person ordered a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, no onions but with the special pimento cheese. Lunch was served (beautiful presentations in every case.) Before my friend took her first bite, our server whisked her plate away saying she had learned from the kitchen that the pimento cheese contained onions. The entire lunch was cooked again, sans cheese. Our server continued to give us outstanding service throughout the long lunch. Food was excellent.
Wonderful place to celebrate Valentines Day!
Valentine’s Day, unique menu and great service!
Went for Valentine's Day. We had great food and service.
Reservation was as promised. Wine at the bar was very good and we did not feel crowded. We were seated at our table and promptly greeted by our waitress. The bread was served nice and warm with a good balance of crunch in the crust and soft center. The flavor was very good. I ordered the grilled salmon and my date had the crispy catfish. The salmon was prepared medium and the outer portion was done, however a good portion of the center was raw that I did not eat. I know you do not overcook fish since it is mostly water but this was a long way from being overdone. The mashed redskin potatoes were only slightly warm and their flavor was mundane to say the least. My last side item was a "collard slaw". I tasted it several times but could find nothing redeeming in how it was prepared or tasted. I know chefs like to be creative but what you did to those collards is a crime against nature. The presentation and ambiance was very nice. Unfortunately the food was a big let down and based on my experience I would have a hard time justifying a return visit.
The food was amazing. Seriously some of the best food that i have ever ate. Took my girlfriend here for valentine's and she loved it.
As always great dinner, have never had a bad meal there. I would like to see some some new items offered though as opposed tot just some seasonal changes. Maybe time for several new items. But what do I know.
Food has been consistently very good with each visit. Enjoyable lunch and desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The night started off well, but both the apps and entrees dragged to come out. Service was good and they informed us of the timing, and actually bought a dessert that we didn’t order for us, but I thought it would’ve been nicer to just buy the dessert we actually ordered vs giving us an extra one that was barely eaten. Entrees tasted great and app did as well. My advice to them is if the food takes long to come out and we buy a dessert to offer that on the house. Still 4 stars and we would return.
Just wasn't impressed. Food was good, a little overpriced for their serving size though. Server was knowledgeable but lost his wine tool and it took a while to get our initial water. Did like that there was an assortment of craft beer though. Probably won't be back
Excellent food and service. I had the filet, it was cooked exactly how I wanted it, but was a little dry to be medium rare. Still very good, and will be back soon.
