The experience was great. We were seated as soon as we got there. The food was amazing! We ordered Oyster Rockefeller for appetizers the main course was shrimp & scallops scampi & the Neptune. I will definitely go back.
We had a great time at 19Hundred90. The ambiance is outstanding. Historical establishment has a great feel. The meal was good. The wait staff was outstanding and friendly. After dinner, we retired to the bar to finish off our bottle of wine while we watched the NCAA Tournament. The manager joined us after the restaurant had closed and kept the bar open until the game had concluded. Great hospitality.
Loved the piano music, a lovely evening!
This was our first time in this historic restaurant and it won't be our last. The meal was superb and the service was also terrific. The pianist playing in the background lent the place a perfect atmosphere and made us feel as if we had entered a wonderful time warp.
Wonderful atmosphere, great menu, delicious food and a talented piano player made a wonderful dinner out.
Lovey restaurant. I got the Neptune. The scallops were wonderful but the shrimp was over cooked and the crab cake was under seasoned. The risotto was over cooked and the fried green tomatoes could have had less. Overall good. Service was very good. Piano very nice. Thank you
What a great little place. The establishment is in theme with the area and the food and service were outstanding. We will be back.
Three of us drove to Savannah to attend the St Patrick’s Day Parade. I have been to 17 Hundred 90 before and so I suggested it. We had a 6:30 pm reservation and were seated early. We were given water and waited 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us. The restaurant was at least half empty. I was beginning to feel embarrassed since I had spoken so highly of the place. We had to ask for the bread rolls (which are fabulous). The food was very good as usual. The ambiance is “date night special”.
Too long a wait for reserved table
We had dinner on a Sunday evening with relatives. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and very good. Drinks were generous and the dinners were presented well and very tasty. Pricing was reasonable and the piano player was good without being obtrusive. Very nice!
Our waiter Neil was fantastic even when I wanted to tweak my order for my dietary needs. The food was, as always, delicious and prepared just as we ordered. This still remains my favorite dinner restaurant in Savannah. Can’t wait to go back.
One of our favorite places in Savannah. The ambience is very pleasant and romantic. Food is always outstanding. The pianist is a joy to listen to. A friendly, pleasant place in a nice, historic neighborhood.
Birthday dinner. I hoped there would have been complimentary birthday dessert, but not.
Our waiter John was so attentive and charming! We enjoyed the crab stew made with real blue crab and the Neptune plate with grilled shrimp, scallops, and crab cakes. Previously I tried the shrimp and grits and I do believe they are the best shrimp and grits in Savannah! The piano music was simply beautiful - he played melodies that we don’t typically hear. The charm and elegance of 1790 is unparalleled - the history of the Inn adds a special touch to your dining experience. We visit every time we are in Savannah. Enthusiastic recommendation! Make your reservations early as they usually fill every table.
The room is filled with several small chandeliers, and a piano was playing softly in the corner. The room itself is small, but you don't feel like people can hear your conversation. The server was wonderful. Attentive, but not hovering. The food was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and there was a nice pace to the courses that were served.
The noise level was high and found it difficult to conduct a conversation. Piano player while good was loud. Two of the four meals we had were mediocre the other two were quite good. Our waiter was very attentive did a fine job.
Excellent wait staff! The musician on the piano was so talented! The quality of the food was exceptional!
A lovely, historic inn with wonderful food, charming piano (though a little loud-made conversation a challenge), and great service. They even recognized our daughter’s birthday writing happy birthday in chocolate sauce on her dessert plate!
Great meal. Bar is a lot of fun too!
My husband got the scampi and it was good. i got the sautéed shrimp and the shrimp were tiny and overdone. Not good. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and the noise level was low to easy to have a conversation.
Brought our out of town friends for dinner. Very enjoyable
On vacation. Very crowded and we were seated 30 minutes late. Nice wine list and meat selections. Waiter was attentive but not overbearing.
This is an outstanding restaurant, I loved everything about it, in the historical part of town, very short walk from where we were staying, ambiance, food, drinks, the whole experience.
I loved the ambiance, the environment, the service was superb, I was seated as I asked with the fireplace right in front of me, and there was absolutely the minimum wait time.
I have been to The 17Hundred90 Club several times and the people there are very service oriented. I have come to select this club when going to Savannah because of the [propel who serve: Angel and Scott are the hardest working cool headed and service oriented bar tenders I know. Every 20 minutes another Ghost Tour group enters with a short window of opportunity wet their whistle and these servants with a mission, do their job so well. They are a "machine" to watch.
Jim Deja, the top Chef in Savannah in 2017, works his epicurean expertise with the menu items and they are excellent. I had the Cranberry Stuffed Pork Loin and my Date had the filleted Trout. Both of us were treated to a"Epicurean Delight" Never had a bad selection in 4 years.
My Note: When one enters the bar, one is reminded of the TV show, "Cheers" the atmosphere, the clientele and the ambiance is none less than the "every other show" type of folks, banter and people. The personalities o the locals who stop ion for the brief respite - food, drink or both - take on a personality that one seeks each visit .
My business partner and I visit about once a month but we have become a part of the social connection.
This is my favorite haunt!
Booked table for anniversary and had restaurant make note. We had to wait 30 min to be seated. Felt very unwelcome by receptionist. We we hurried by waiter. No mention of anniversary. We will not be back
Great all around!
My wife and I ate here on our most recent trip to Savannah. The restaurant was recommended by my brother and his wife as one of their favorites. The restaurant seems a little out of the way from the main scene of Savannah, but actually is just a couple blocks off the main shopping street Broughton. The restaurant has an older quiet feel about it with a piano player in the main dining area. The food was better than average and the service from Scott our waiter was excellent. It is not highly expensive, but certainly above average cost. I would recommend 17Hundred90 Inn and Restaurant. By the way, the Inn is supposedly one of the more haunted spots in Savannah.
The service was excellent. Orderves were excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. The desert was nothing special at all. Key lime pie very ordinary, bread pudding very ordinary
Last year this time hubby and i had a marvelous dinner at 27 Hundred 90. Sorry to say we were disappointed this year. I had the sautéed shrimp hubby had the filet. Shrimp meal was not hot...luke warm at best...risotto was thick and clumpy. Spinach salad was uninspired. Best part of the meal was the hot out of the oven biscuit drizzled with honey 🍯. As soon as we ate the biscuit the server immediately removed the plate. Did not ask if we would like another one and our water glasses were never refilled. Server was MIA!
Loved it will be back me and my husband for a romantic evening
We ate during a very busy Saturday night and were about 45 minutes early for our reservation. The wonderful staff at 17Hundred90 seated us anyway. John was our server and was friendly but rushed, but that was probably because we were seated early. I had Salmon Oscar and my husband had Pork Osso Bucco. Both dishes were very good and while mine was not as hot as it could have been, the flavor made it a non-issue. The restaurant also serves Leopold's ice cream so that was dessert. Our appetizers were Crab Stew which was spectacular and their Signature Salad which my husband was pleased with. We will definitely go back!
The food was great! The service was great! This place never disappoints!
On the morning of February 16th my husband called to make reservations for my birthday that evening. He was told they were booked until Sunday the 19th and they ended the conversation. Since it was my birthday and he knew I really wanted to try there, he immediately got online and was able to book a table for the expect time that we wanted. Odd considering 30 seconds before he was told they were booked, but ok. We arrived early so we had drinks at the bar. 5 minutes later I decide to order an appetizer while we wait. 15 minutes later no appetizer but our table is ready so I ask if it can simply be transferred to our table. I'm informed it can't because the order was never put in. We were seated meet our server Hill, who was AMAZING and honestly the only reason that I give the review 3 stars. Oh and the bacon wrapped scallops we really good. The rest of the meal was downhill from there. Both my fillet mignon and lobster were under cooked and bland. The green beans we barley blanched and bland. My husband had the duck which was under cooked and the truffle macaroni & cheese had a too much truffle oil. This is definitely not an experience in looking forward to repeating. Had our server, Hill, not been great we would've left a lot sooner.
Food was mediocre for the price - service was underwhelming. Redeeming part of the meal was ambiance, and that wasn’t even food related.
Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife. Dinner was great; would have really enjoyed piano music with dinner. Overall a great experience.
We really enjoy this restaurant. I highly suggest the Lobster Pasta and Bread Pudding for dessert. We had a nice experience.
The ambiance of this 200 year old inn is only matched by the Olde Pink House in Savannah. From the mouth watering honey butter biscuits thru the remainder of the meal.... The service is attentive and friendly, the food exceptional, and the bill reasonable
Great food, great shrimp entrees, wonderful waiter!
After waiting 19 mins, had to walk up the the hostess and ask for our waiter. Food was exceptional, but service was below par. This was our third visit and I was very disappointed....it was our last visit.
