1796 Room at Bedford Springs
1796 uses only the highest quality 21-day aged USDA prime beef. Our meats are prepared at 1700° on our infrared broiler ensuring juiciness, tenderness and flavor.
All entrées are served with our signature grilled artichoke, and “shared” side dishes are available à la carte along with a tasty dessert selection freshly prepared in-house by our pastry team.
Our world-class wine list is designed to match the quality of our food selection, and our professional staff is trained to recommend the perfect wine pairing with your meal.
Creating a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere of warm sophistication, the new 1796 Room is a dining experience not to be missed.
I love that they have the tables oriented in a way that gives each table privacy. No two tables are on top of one another so you can actually have a private conversation over dinner out, which seems rare to find these days as restaurants pack tables too close together all too often. The place is super cozy, the food and staff are excellent. And valet is free if you're just there for dinner versus a resort guest. Highly recommend.
Very good food and service with one exception. Wife’s cops were not quite cooked correctly. Chose not to send back. We also had a table where we both had to sit on the same side. Was weird but ok.
Our waiter, Jacob, was phenomenal! Our dinners were fabulous! We loved our experience!
This meal was top notch. Our server Jacob made the whole experience phenomenal. He knew the whole menu inside and out. He was able to recommend a great wine for me and also a fantastic appetizer and meal to accommodate it. If you’re staying at the Omni I recommend eating here. We will definitely be back!
Everything from the food to the service was superb! This was our 2nd experience at 1796 Room, and we will definitely return!
Birthday meal with family. Service very good as well as the food
Wonderful experience. Great food, excellent service, very pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely go back again.
Very good food and great ambience in an excellent Grand old Hotel. Would highly recommend advanced reservations as it fills up fast. Upcharge on wines and alcohol are pretty high at 5-6 times shelf price but not unlike many other 4-5 star restaurants.
Wonderful Restaurant. Great service. Great food best tuna I have ever had.
Jacob, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive. Nice evening, great food.
Overall good. Food was fine
We were staying at the resort on a Wednesday at holiday time. We were disappointed beforehand when we realized the formal dining room was not opened on a Wednesday evening but the 1796 Room did not disappoint. Although a more casual feel, the food was outstanding, the wine list impressive and the service very attentive.
Annual girls trip
Everything was covered in your survey. Nothing else to add.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Emily our server took such great care of us given my daughter's allergic sensitivities.
We enjoyed our meals- there was nothing to complain about. However, there was also nothing so spectacular about it that warrants the cost. The wine prices were over the top as well. Also, I think the decor and overall ambience was lacking. The food was prepared well and the service was very good. Just not totally convinced it was worth it.
Very special time with family!
Yearly special vacation
We had a delicious meal for date night on Saturday night! We had fabulous service and great food. We would have preferred to dine earlier but waited too long to make a reservation and got the last one available for the evening at 9:15pm, luckily, thanks to the nice bartender who checked on our table availability, the restaurant was able to seat us about a half hour early which was fantastic! Even at this late time, the dining room was full and the noise level was loud. Definitely louder than we would have liked but overall we enjoyed the food and the excellent service we received while we were there!
The food and service was tremendous. Our party ordered oysters, Shrimp Cocktail, crab cakes, and Octopus for appetizers. Everything was fantastic. The Octopus was the best we’ve ever had.
For entree’s we had Pork chops, filet, filet Oscar style, and Scallops with Lobster risotto. Everything was delicious.
The service was wonderful. Extremely friendly and attentive without being burdensome.
One of the best experiences we’ve ever had.
I was disappointed because when I made the Open Table reservation, I specified the occasion was a birthday, but nothing was done to acknowledge it for my dinner guest.
The seared ahi tuna was grisly-- a disappointment because of the quality I have come to expect at this establishment and the price for such lack of quality.
Lisa who took care of is made our experience very memorable.
Recommendations were spot on.
Steaks were done to our specs perfectly.
We'll definitely return.
Went for my birthday, the food was exceptional. I loved the lobster Mac.
Little pricey...good food. Great service!
Staff works well together....lighting to bright for intimate dinner
Food was excellent, service was excellent, all was excellent if you’re in the area it’s a fantastic dinner. Get what you pay for.
Our sever was Michelle. She was very helpful and attentive. The food from appetizer of shrimp to my main entree of filet mignon was excellent. It is expensive but well worth it.
Food was wonderful but what made the experience exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Jacob. Other tables around us were stating the same. What a fine young man who makes you feel that your table is the only one he is attending to, all the while giving his other tables the same attentiveness. I can’t say enough about the ambience which made our 15 th wedding anniversary all the more special!!!!!!
Food was mediocre - seemed overpriced for what it was. Caesar Salad was $10 but was no $10 salad - ridiculously small portion. Mine and my husband’s steaks were a bit over-cooked. Service seemed “off” - waiter was friendly but definitely not on top of things. Dinners were not brought out hot - seemed like might have been sitting a bit. Also - waiter brought out my glass of wine right away but never brought out my husbands cocktail till we were eating our salads (quite a bit of time after my wine). Would not go back.
We were staying there for 3 days and wanted a nice dinner before leaving the next day. Everything about the dining room was lovely the server, Jacob, couldn't have been more attentive and courteous. Food was delicious and no rush to leave.....would go again!!!
Absolutely fabulous anniversary dinner at the 1796 Room. We got the rack of lamb and the filet and both were cooked perfectly. Service was exceptional.
We stared at the The Frontier restaurants with drinks and the charcuterie plate.
Delicious salads, steaks, sauces, sides, and dessert.
Service was outstanding (by Lisa). 1796 Room is one of our favorite restaurants in PA.
The Omni In Bedford Springs is first rate.
I Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great meal as always. Hidden gem in mid-state PA.
my wife ordered lamb chops and all three times they came out raw and not cooked in the center. They took the lamb chops off the bill. They are supposed to be noted for steaks.
The restaurant is inside the hotel behind the bar and tavern restaurant. The noise level depends on the bar noise which can be loud, especially on a Saturday night when two weddings were at the hotel. The food options are typical to a steak house, your salad/soup, protein and sides are all ordered separately. The food was very good and the staff was very eager to please. We had a reservation and were sat on time, a hostess brought menus, bread and water and then we sat for 30 minutes without ever having a server. We finally got up to go get drinks at the bar and that’s when they realized nobody has ever waited on us. They were very apologetic and comped our drinks. Was a lively evening aside from that one misstep.
We have dined here many times over the years and were very disappointed this time. The risotto was very bland and the chunks of lobster were good but the flavor was not at all incorporated into the risotto. The scallops lacked seasoning and were a bit undercooked. My husband had the ahi and his risotto (crab) was similar to mine in its lack of flavor. His ahi was over cooked so we sent it back. The second serving was cooked correctly but lacked seasoning as well.
All in all, not what we had come to expect from the 1796 Room. Very disappointing.
It depends. It's expensive and and the sides are a la carte... but also shareable. So depends on who is going and what they would like. My risotto was tasteless and our side of broccolini was ice cold. My shrimp.scampi was excellent. The bread was awesome. My husband's tuna was great too. The seating was very uncomfortable. For the price, it was a little too hit or miss for me.
We stay at the Omni Bedford Spribgs any chance we get. 1796 never disappoints. Good is fantastic and presentation is great. Can't wait to go back.
