Great spot for a romantic night. Staff helped me propose to my now fiancé and were very personable throughout the entire night. The food was top tier and the waiters/waitresses had a comprehensive understanding of each menu item. Definitely recommend for anyone who is able to treat themselves to a luxurious night out! I will definitely be returning!

This was our first time to this fabulous restaurant, but it certainly will not be our last. We had wonderful, personable, professional, and knowledgeable servers, delicious and eye catching dishes, and splendid wine choices. Everything was top notch. Made this birthday celebration extra special!

Could be an elegant restaurant given the beautiful room and wonderful food, but it did not feel elegant with some others dining in sneakers, jeans and sweats and a lot of fowl language at several tables. We know you cannot control all of this, but if you say certain attire is not allowed, then it sets a tone. Also, trying to take our dishes and glasses away when we were not finished is not part of elegant dining. Nor is stacking dishes when taken from the table. Food for thought!

Has been a good 15 years since I've been back in the G'town area and didn't want to leave without another visit to the 1789. Good plan for if possible it has only gotten better. Could have been the best meal I've ever had and the ambiance only made the evening that much more memorable.

Amazing food, beautiful place and overall a great experience. The food was so delicious, it was the best part, the place is so cute and reserve, I loved it. The only thing is that the price of everything is high. It's an expensive restaurant, but worth it.
