Had issue at end of meal. Gave server two credit cards and asked him to split down middle. Receipts were brought for each card and signed. Waiting outside for Uber and server came out to say we had not left correct copies of receipt. Determined that server had actually charged the same card twice rather than each at half. Was made to feel like we were in the wrong. Went back inside to rerun one of the cards. Ended up being charged an extra 50% as they didn’t refund first overcharge despite assurances. Called to talk to manager and he was adamant we had been charged correct amount. Never apologized for his server screwing it up in first place. Had to dispute third charge with Amex.

Recently went to 1789 for our Anniversary, very disappointed! I have no problem with a higher pried menu if there is care taken in the preparation and presentation of the food. This restaurant totally missed the mark and there are much better around for the money. I think someone is not watching....or tasting. I think they are resting on their longevity and not their passion for food. We had the clam gnocchi and tuna tartare for apps. The tuna had zero seasoning, it was bland and stateless. I'm not sure where the avocado, chipotle and compressed pineapple came in, it was there, but completely lost in this dish. The clam dish was good, but came to the table warm and not hot (server issue I would imagine). The dish tasted fresh but $22.00 for 5 baby clams and a few gnocchi is ridiculous! The waiter recommended the rack of lamb and stated that they are "known" for it. The lamb had no sear, no seasoning and was incredibly bland and gamey. There was no love in the preparation of this signature dish. Again, the dish was not hot, just warm.....seems like they are pre cooking? The whipped potatoes and vegetable ragu did not compliment the dish at all. The lamb jus was non existent. Again, this dish was $59.00 for 4 bones of mis-handled lamb, not good at all. My wife had the tenderloin, and yet again the meal was not hot and had the look of to much time under the heat lamp. $250.00 for absolute mediocrity, they must get a good tourist business because it seems like they have lost the passion.

1789 was a wonderful restaurant. The wait staff were extremely knowledgeable and personable. The steak tartare was exquisite...chopped fine, but melts in your mouth, with a quail egg perched on top. The best part of the meal was the duck duo, which was brined duck breast and leg confit. The brining process gave the duck a slight sweet taste (no gaminess) and because of the way it was pan seared, it felt and tasted to the palate as if it was Kobe beef. I highly recommend 1789 Restaurant. Another bonus is that they have have valet parking (free)...which you know, if you from the DMV area, is a nightmare.

Amazing! We are from Las Vegas so we are spoiled, yet this restaurant surpassed any restaurant we have gone to in Las Vegas.

Since my wife is extremely allergic to garlic we specifically asked the waiter to point out which meals did NOT contain any garlic. After he went into the kitchen to check with the chef, we thought we could trust his recommendations. Unfortunately we were wrong.
It's a pity. I actually enjoyed the food, service and the atmosphere at the restaurant.

Hubby and I had our weekly "date night" here, as we often do. Food was excellent, as always! Loved the beef tartare and the salmon. However, the amuse bouche was not at all amusing... in fact, it was utterly ridiculous. A mini pat of butter with a sliver of a radish does not qualify as anything but a pitiful joke. It would have been better if there had been no amuse bouche served at all. What was chef thinking?!? Aside from that, we will definitely be going back because the food is always delicious, the service is always excellent, and we very much like the environment.

This was my second time visiting this restaurant. I was very pleased this time. I had the seabass, which was excellent. My wife had the sirloin. She remarked that it was one of the best, if not the best steak she has had. The desserts are small. I like this, but others who like to share may not.

Table was not ready so had to wait at the bar. Service was pleasant and efficient. Me seafood meal was well prepared. However, the noice levels from some tables were excessive for a fine dining experience. The ambience therefore made good food into an average experience.

What an amazing experience and meal! From drinks and great hospitality with our attentive bartender, Sean, to start the night to a fun and tasty meal served by the amazing Phillip, my wife and I had a blast. The atmosphere and food were all top notch, and we will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks to the entire 1789 Restaurant staff for such a special dining experience.

I was grateful that the staff graciously relocated us in the dining room after an unpleasant encounter with a loud, offensive diner at the table next to us. It made the rest of our evening much more enjoyable. As always the food was wonderful.

My family and I came here for Easter brunch on April 1. My reservation was at 3:30pm but we got to the city a little earlier so I called the restaurant to ask if we could move up the reservation to 3pm. I'm not sure what her name is, but she was working the reception area at the restaurant and she was VERY rude. Upon arrival she displayed her rudeness with her co-workers but they did not seemed phased (maybe she's always like that and they're used to it), either way it doesn't excuse her behavior. Before we sitting us and a couple more families were standing waiting around in reception area and this young lady was not being professional as to how she was talking to her co-workers. You never know who is watching, and I wasn't impressed by her behavior.

As for the restaurant, the meal I ordered was average but the food my family had was really good! Our servers were exceptional! I will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant.

Easter Brunch.. our server was not focused on us. Infrequent table visit—long time to place our order, never checked in after meal was served. Normally great experience, unfortunately not this time.. (he was too busy?)

The perfect spot to celebrate Easter brunch on a chilly early April Sunday. The elegant decor is charming and the fireplace is warm and homey. The meal was served on crisp linen with Herend China and sparkling crystal. Our food was photo ready and tasted even better.

We thought the service was excellent. They are not usually open for brunch, but we attended a special Easter brunch. They had an Easter bunny greeting the kids with chocolate. The kids and adults had a wonderful time. The food was unforgettable. We sampled a number of things on the menu. Each item was spectacular. My only complaint is that we arrived when they were opening and it seemed as if it took a little while for the restaurant to warm up. Otherwise, it was amazing.

We arrived 30 minutes early to sit in the new bar and have a cocktail. The bartenders were friendly and the atmosphere great for pre-dinner or meeting some friends. Our server, Michael, was very professional. We didn’t feel rushed at any point. The food was incredible as we sampled the lamb, duck, salmon, pasta and other delicious items. Very comfortable atmosphere in beautiful and historic part of town.

Menus with 'happy birthday' was handed to my parents and given as souvenirs companies with very taste hazelnut truffels. This is my second visit and I would definitely recommend this hidden gem to every friend!
