We’re a farm-to-table restaurant that’s redefining what fine dining means. We work with local vendors and farmers to find the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. We understand the challenges of finding high-quality options that unique, vegan or allergy-friendly, especially since the owner has Celiac Disease herself, among other dietary restrictions. Our kitchen creates fresh food from scratch every day and can customize to your needs, so we’ve got you covered. Plus, we're the only restaurant in McHenry County to have received Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, and our expert staff can help you choose the perfect pairing.

For us, fine dining is more than the very best in food, service and atmosphere. It’s a conversation and a connection to others. We believe everyone deserves good food so we’ve started a movement to do just that.

    Another incredible experience. The Chef pairs innovative fresh ingredients & preparation techniques to deliver wonderful flavors, presented beautifully. Service is wonderful.

    I have never in my 53 years of life bothered to take the time to write a review, but after visiting 1776, I just knew I needed to! I was diagnosed with Celiac disease 27 years ago, and hands down, this was THE BEST gluten free food I have ever eaten! Everything was so fresh and delicious! And our party felt so safe eating there, as it is a 100 percent gluten free kitchen! And not just the food was outstanding, our server Josh was just as wonderful! He was so articulate, kind, hospitable, and knowledgeable. We are so grateful to have found this gem, and we will definitely be going back again and again!

    We were the only ones in the restaurant since we dined early on a Wednesday. Our food took forever and it was cold when it arrived. The food was just ok. Definitely not worth the price! We could’ve had more drinks however our table was not addressed very frequently. We really didn’t care for the menu.

    Really enjoyed our meals and wine. The flavors were unique and outstanding. Our server was friendly and attentive helpful with menu questions. Wednesday is half price wine for all bottles $76 and under so that was the cherry on top!

    1776 is our favorite dining experience in Crystal Lake. Excellent food and service. Their weekly specials draw us in to dine, and their 1/2 price wine bottles on Wednesdays are a fabulous deal.
