The 1770 House, located in the heart of East Hampton is the Hampton's premier fine dining location. The 1770 House proudly offers three different dining settings to choose from. Our luxurious main dining room, the casual Tavern, or the beautiful outdoor garden patio.
Table was not ready, had to wait approximately 20mins (like everyone else). Service was mechanical
The manager Michael Cohen was very unprofessional and rude when we asked him to lower the AC which was on our face. Other than him the staff is fine.
This is good place that should cater to their customers, the manager doesn’t have a clue.
1770 has been our “go-to” restaurant on the East End for many years now. Fabulous ambiance, food, and service.
Great service. Exceptional...we had the lovely young man with the great radio voice. Food was good. Although I was still hungry afterwards. :) We has the matcha creme brûlée which was the only gluten free option. We enjoy it, didn’t leave any food uneaten. The mixed greens salad was super basic, only greens a few cherry tomatoes and dressing.
Amazing food .Amazing service. Just a bit too stuffy in the main dining room. Felt like we couldn’t relax . Tavern needs it’s own separate reservation and was not aware .
1770 never disappoints. After all the restaurants have come and gone, 1770 still has the best food in town. My favorite destination!
Excellent. Fluke is not to be missed as an appetizer. Scallops were excellent as well as
the service. Great classy place.
Outstanding, as always! Carol, you are doing such a first rate job. Our (consistently) favorite restaurant i the Hamptons.
Everything was lovely. Service excellent, the drinks were perfectly crafted. Dinner was delicious and we were not rushed
Waiter very kind and patient with great sense of humor especially when I accidentally insulted him.
Always excellent. Food is consistently perfect and a nice blend of seasonal items and favorites
Amazing food and experience! We will definitely come back, can’t recommend enough!
This place is a must if you are looking for a beautiful quaint restaurant with delicious food and great service. We started with the fluke tartar which is a must and a signature dish and the special heirloom tomato salad. We then had the strip bass with a lobster roe sauce...amazing...and the swordfish which was also really good. The deserts are all winners. The wine list is well thought out with something for everyone especially if you are looking to splurge a little. Lastly, the service is top notch which is the icing on the cake. Try to sit outside if possible as it is a beautiful setting.
Terrific food, service and wine. Beautiful quiet space. Really the most elegant on the South Fork.
Food is quite rich.
1770 House is consistently on point with every important aspect of a fine dining experience, i.e. quality of food, ambience, service and value. We have stayed at this charming establishment many times and have always enjoyed their sumptious restaurant selections and lovely accommodations.
Thank you again for your hospitality and exquisite cuisine.
Love this place! Highly recommend!
Wonderful, as always! Our favorite place in the Hamptons.
Lovely , romantic restaurant with excellent service and food.
We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. The food is great but we had a bad experience last night when leaving. I took my chicken home for my dog. They put it in a bag and when we were leaving a staff member came after us to check whst was in the bag. For a restaurant of this stature I found this appalling. Don’t know if I’ll go back. We were 4 people and spent a large amount of money for dinner
Sat on the patio. Fluke tartare appetizer was amazing. Dinner awesome and service spectacular. The patio is a wonderful setting. Close your eyes and you could be in many (great) places in the World.
Superb menu. Gourmet. Great wine list. Service was impeccable
The food! The fluke tartar was perfectly layered. The fooe gras was delicious. The room was beautiful. The AC was blowing directly. On us which was the only issue
Excellent all around
Great restaurant. Superb food and service and ambiance. Solid wine list.
1770 House Is a delightful place to dine. The food is wonderfully prepared, the ambiance is beautiful and the service is excellent. It is a favorite of ours for many years and never disappoints.
Food, wine, service was exceptional. We will return again.
Old beautiful with a magical outdoor garden patio. Halibut was fabulous and seasoned well. Only issue was that the waiter was rather cocky and tried to blow us off when we asked to speak with the sommelier and told us twice over a twenty minute period that the sommelier was too busy with inside guests to assist us.
This is insulting especially at these prices.
When he finally came was totally gracious and even gave us more light so don’t know why we had to struggle so.
We had the most wonderful time. Celebrating our 30 th The patio was lovely the service was spectacular and the meal was exceptional We will be back.
Amazing place for dinner. Lovely ambiance, food is delicious. Shout out to our sever ( blond lady from Montana) She was extremely polite, well spoken, knew the menu and even made our martinis which were on point!
The only negative part was the woman who took us the table: super cold, seemed annoyed cuz we asked questions.
Enjoyed the evening including the chef's parents who were sitting behind us!
Most amazing summer corn soup I’ve ever had. An explosion of fresh, surprising tastes and textures. Words fail...
Foie gras, peach compote and a corn pancake to die for!!! My lifetime favorite has always been at the Danieli Hotel in Venice but now I never need to leave NY.
Kind, cheerful, knowledgeable, proud servers.
Fantastic restaurant in a beautiful, historic setting--perfect for a special occasion.
The halibut was outstanding
Great place for an anniversary :)
Excellent food and service. Beef wellington was amazing!
Always good, in every way. Except pretty pricey- even for the Hamptons. But will go back again, soon. It’s a lovely meal
Food was excellent. service was excellent. price is what it is. But in this place you get what you pay for. It was well worth it.
Really beautifully cooked food...we sat outdoors and their patio is something special, especially after the sunsets. An elegant, soothing setting for delicious food. Lovely staff too.
Always an elegant and delicious experience.
