It was our first time here. My husband and I work in Easton but live an hour away and had the opportunity to meet for dinner on the way home after a business event. We chose the Hotel Bethlehem because we were thinking of having our company holiday dinner here. It was a Monday night, so although the Tap Room was busy, the terrace restaurant was not. However, everything was perfect. Ambiance, food, drinks and service were all excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we definitely be back.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and courteous. The menu items sounded delicious. There were only about 4 other tables being used, it was not a busy night.
I ordered the farmhouse roasted chicken. The menu specified that the chicken was a bone in piece of chicken. I love a good succulent roast chicken. The chicken brought out to me was two boneless skinless chicken breasts that had been grilled and were over done. My spouse ordered the duck which was described on the menu as having crackling skin. The duck arrived rare without the crunchy skin. The flavor of the duck was delicious but not as described on the menu.
Our waiter did ask how our meals were after we had had them for a while, and he did offer to have the meals replated, but we had already eaten most of the meal, so we declined. To compensate we were not charged for the dessert we had, which I appreciated.
The evening we dined at the 1741 Terrace was a cold blustery Spring evening. We were cold in the restaurant even though we had dressed for the weather.
Our bill for the evening was about $135 for 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 drinks and 1 dessert. We will not return, as overall the main expectation for the evening would be an excellently prepared meal, which we did not get.
It was a great meal and wonderful servers. Enjoyed the atmosphere and location.
Excellent food and service. Would recommend for special occasions or high end events.
I brought my sister here for her birthday which was both of our first times going here ever and it was the best choice I made. We were both extremely happy with the food, the view, and the waiters were both super nice. We had a wonderful time and I am definitely returning again!
Celebrating our 41st Anniversary was a memorable experience at the Terrace. Our server, Donna was very attentive and answered all of our questions knowledgeably. The whole evening was quiet and allowed us to relax and enjoy our food and beverages. We enjoyed the price fixe menu with the wine parings. This will be a favorite spot for future dinners.
Not the first time here and we will return. Food, drinks, service, and ambiance are very good. Would certainly recommend to anyone.
found this place online when we were staying at Historic Hotel Bethlehem. Service very attentive, though a bit slow. Food was teriffic. Try the short ribs!
The restaurant has an elegant and romantic ambience which was the perfect setting for my wife and I to celebrate our 27th anniversary. The food and wine was superb. Bob was fantastic! He was welcoming and informative about the menu and wine selections. This was our first visit and we will surely visit again.
Excellent dining experience. Food was delicious, atmosphere was romantic and classy, and servers were pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. An added plus was watching the snow fall looking out from the floor the ceiling windows overlooking Main St.
Great ambiance, service and food. Made for the perfect date night dinner for my wife and I.
outstanding meal, awesome service, had the best time there. will return again
Our family loves to celebrate special occasions in the 1776 room. Our favorite waiter is Bob.
He is very attentive and makes our evening quite memorable.
From beginning to the end of the meal , a great night .
The dinner was amazing. The service was really good, they followed a request I made during the reservation.
It was not perfect because a small details during the service as missing to serve the wine and diferent time serving the desert.
The waiter was a bit inexperienced. I asked the waiter and bus boy for olive oil, but neither of them brought it. The waiter did not offer to pour the bottle of Louis Latour we purchased. The one duck ravioli appetizer was very small and was underwhelming. My friend had the beet salad which was very good. The orrichette pasta was ok. Short ribs were a bit fatty but tasty, and the chocolate tart was not very good. I cannot remember saying that about a chocolate dessert.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the beautiful room to the incredible service to the spectacular food, an outstanding evening from beginning to end.
Another fine meal. One of my favorite fine dining places. Food and service is top notch.
Impeccable service. We made the reservation for our anniversary, without exception, every staff member wished us a Happy Anniversary and we were offered a complimentary Champagne upon being seated. Soups (Carrot & Chicken Curry) were very good to great. Entrees (Salmon & Cod) were good. Dessert (Chocolate Tart & Apple Financier) was also good. Coffee was very good.
Another wonderful experience at this fantastic restaurant. The food, service and ambiance are always consistent. The atmosphere is so inviting. It has such a special feel. It’s not so easy to find a place this perfect in every way.
We went to Terrace for my wife's birthday and it was an excellent experience with a great staff. Located in Hotel Bethlehem, the views of Bethlehem & large windows make for a great seating experience. The food was excellent as well as the drinks menu. Highly recommended when in town.
As always the food and service were outstanding. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. You can tell the staff takes pride in all they do - it shows :)
Service was high class. Food was executed well. Went on new years and it was top 5 most beautiful restaurants I've been too. Would like more options drink wise though.
Took my husband for his birthday on New Year's Eve. They were very accommodating and the food and service was outstanding! I would go back. The decorations for Christmas we're stunning!
We recently dined here for my wife's birthday during our stay at the hotel. I have to be honest, it didn't start off great. We had a reservation, but stood in the doorway for almost 15 minutes past our scheduled time without being approached by anyone (multiple wait staff ignored us, and the host completely ignored us, then was nowhere to be found). We finally went over to one of the waiters, and got her attention (she was very friendly, and fortunately ended up being our waiter) to take our reservation and seat us. From that point on, everything was excellent. The food, drinks, ambiance - especially at Christmastime - and service was wonderful. The menu is limited, but everything on it caters to a true food and drink lover's palette. They also are very accommodating to your young one(s). I do not believe this restaurant is meant for children under 12, but they did not make our 7-year old feel that way. This was especially nice since we were traveling/staying with our daughter, but still able to enjoy a beautiful setting and meal without snooty looks, comments, or treatment (those came from the other diners, but not the restaurant staff).
My wife and I were in Bethlehem for the new year celebration. The 1741 is on the indoor terrace of the hotel. Nice room with high ceiling and tables not jammed together. When we got there we were offered a table overlooking Main Street which was decorated for the season. The horse drawn carriages that passed by added to the beautiful view out of the window. I had the filet and my wife had the sea bass. Both done as they should be.
Food temperature was warm at best. Kitchen was slow. Busboy/busgirl they were great though! First time we’ve gone there and it will be the last. Not worth the price we paid for our dinners.
Very nice ambience and service.
Food and service were excellent. Very elegant place to dine.
My wife and I went on a date to the 1741 Terrace. We had a terrific meal. The food was excellent. I asked for a window seat when I made the reservation. The view of Main Street with all of the Christmas lights and the snow was just wonderful and delighted my wife. It's a beautiful restaurant, great service and delicious food... such a special place to have a date.
Wonderful setting, food was terrific.
The table was not ready at our reservation time. The food was good but a few things were unavailable that were on the menu. Service was mediocre. One person got coffe and dessert. The other coffee came 5 minutes later and we saw the waiter standing there talking to another waiter with the coffee in his hand. When everyone was just about finished and the Sambuca still hadn’t come we called the waiter. He said “I know it’s not here. The bar will let me know when it is ready.” Really? They never offered to put the bill on our room even though we were staying at the hotel.
On the positive side the room is beautiful and the view is lovely. The food is good.
Unfortunately, our server was not very friendly and the food was just OK This is not an inexpensive restaurant so we were expecting more for money.
Had a great t table by the window. Donna our server was great and so was the food
Excellent eatery. The ambience was some of the finest in the valley. Beautiful spot. Food was excellent. Great wine selection.
Everything just lovely!Had a table with an awesome view.Food delicious, service just right.Love this place!
The Terrace was beautiful - decorated in Christmas finery. The food selection was just enough. The food was prepared timely, the presentation was appealing, and food was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We also enjoyed just being in The Hotel Bethlehem. It is a wonderfully festive place to be at Christmas time.
This was a very good experience! The food prepared perfectly and it tasted wonderful.
Magical Christmas Eve dining
We surprised my mom with dinner for Christmas. She was beyond excited and pleased with the food and service. We ordered the cheese platter which was a great way to start. I had the chicken, my mom had the lobster ravioli, and my husband had steak - Of course, we all tried each others! Everything was delicious, our server was great, the wine was wonderful. It was truly a memorable night and would consider making it a yearly tradition.
