Beautiful atmosphere. The food was great! All of the servers were professional and friendly.
Food outstanding hotel was beautiful and service is on point
Gorgeous, refined, amazing attentive service, delicious food. Great drink menu!
This remains one of favorites of the many Bethlehem restaurants, certainly the nicest space and ambiance, which sets it apart from others. The food is creative, and always outstanding, though the menu limited compared to others. Wines include several worldly selections, but the markup is excessive - exceeding the 100% threshold. Very good, professional service. This is a place for a well constructed meal in a quiet, sophisticated and beautiful space.
Great service. Nice atmosphere
A very busy Saturday.... multiple events and weddings stretched the staff beyond capabilities resulting in a less than memorable dining experience .
This was our wedding anniversary dinner and we enjoyed it very much. The ambiance is simply beautiful. The dining-room is something special with tall Palladium windows on two sides of the dining-room, antique floor tiles, and large floral bouquets throughout the room. The table setting is lovely, and the menu is interesting. Our server, Bob, was quite congenial and attentive. Our meals were delicious with fresh food, interestingly prepared. We will definitely return when we're in Bethlehem again.
The restaurant is exquisite with wonderful atmosphere, quiet surroundings and magnificent views of historic Bethlehem. The service was impeccable. The food was fabulous with only one issue, the steaks were warm but not hot. Although safety may be an issue, the use of heated platters would make a large difference. The Apple crisp dessert was not what was expected with sliced apples in the base and sprinkled oats over top. It was not baked enough to soften the apples as they were still crispy and the oat topping was not a “crisp” as one might expect. It was tasty nonetheless topped with superb vanilla ice cream. The beef barley vegetable soup was extremely hearty with plenty of beef, vegetables and a rich broth. The only issue was the addition of mushrooms which I am unable to eat. However my wife enjoyed it very much.
Excellent food and service. The restaurant has beautiful floor to ceiling windows in a great historic setting.
First of all there was no parking g st the hotel, it was full.
It was very cold in the restaurant
My food was tasty but not hot
The silver cutlery was very cold
Making food less warm
It was very uncomfortable
Outstanding food and great service! Lots of Gluten Free options as well!
The food was excellent!! The service was impeccable!! We will definitely return!
We love our waiter Bob- he’s always there to celebrate our anniversary at the hotel we had our reception at 11 years ago- and we will spend everyone moving forward as long as we are able to there!
It was over air-conditioned and rather noisy when we arrived. Large party with 5 kids under age 6 nearby.
Server Bill was robotic and slow. Other server seemed stressed. Bill Messed up a drink order (he never wrote down the order). When we got coffee he shoved arm and carafe across my face!
Wish there were more entrees to choose from. Food good but too expensive in my opinion.
Steak was over cook, the waitress didn’t even come to the table and asked how we are doing. Side dish was so small, it’s embarrassing! There was family next to our table with the baby that was screaming all the time and little girl was actually with the baby outside the table taking care of her. No one at least once approached them and asked to calmed the baby down. We both I and my husband had birthday that day. Our evening was ruined! For the price, it’s unacceptable!
We were greeted and seated immediately (had reservations for 5:30) Rolls and beverages were served quickly. Our waiter and busboy were friendly. I felt there could be more entrees offered on the menu but I ordered the 8-ounce filet mignon which was done to perfection and delicious. My husband went with the Bay of Fundy salmon; he also ordered Manhattan clam chowder. He enjoyed both of those selections. The side portions were pretty small (I could count the green beans) No one offered to refill our iced tea. Our waiter found out we were celebrating our anniversary and offered complimentary champagne-we are non drinkers so declined but there was no other complimentary offer such as dessert on the house. In our experience other restaurants normally will substitute. We had to wait for our bill for probably 20 minutes until the hostess came over and took care of us. We weren't in a hurry but felt a bit ignored as our waiter was busy with a larger group. Overall, a nice experience and a beautiful place.
The atmosphere and the fantastic staff and outstanding food was well worth the experience. We will go again!
I know it was music fest weekend but they were unprepared, I went for music but I also did not want to eat speaker, so we left and went to the corked 50 yards north of 1741. will never consider 1741 again during music fest. after this experience might not ever consider again
Always a pleasure eating at the 1741 Terrace. Bob the server is the best!!!
Fabulous place to enjoy your company, fine wine and outstanding food. The ambience is throwback in time. You can feel the history of this uniquely kept room. We look forward to celebrating special events in the life of our family here.
Amazing food, very romantic, caring servers and incredible views! Had the Mahi Mahi - would get it again.
Amazing restaurant - from beginning to end! Food is presented wonderfully.
Very classy, friendly and professional wait staff. Scallops prepared to perfection. Quiet and elegant ambiance. Good for special occasions.
Excellent service, from knowledgeable staff. Great ambiance, food was well presented and tasted great
The ambiance is great! The location and overall experience is great!! the food itself is very mediocre. I would recommend it for special occasions just to see and appreciate the history, the high ceilings, the details, the carpet and overall atmosphere, when food flavor is not the priority. that being said, their scallop dish is not bad. steak does not have much flavor. Mussels are in barbecue sauce( really? worst ever). we do not go there often, the intervals are like once in 5 to 10 years. the place and service is always nice and the food is always edible. not spectacular just edible.
Service was stellar, the extras like champagne toast for our sons birthday was a great touch!
Steaks slightly overdone, sides were delicious
Would absolutely go back!
A wonderful place to celebrate an 80th birthday! Our waitress Donna was absolutely lovely. The meal was delicious. The terrace is very quaint and romantic.
We always enjoy dining at 1741 Terrace. It is difficult to find quiet, elegant dining in the Lehigh Valley, and 1741 Terrace provides that ambience. The food is creative and delicious, and the service is very good.
Perfect table on Main Street on the 4th. Excellent food and drink. Waitress was lovely. Ambience of 1741 is magnificent.
We were celebrating our anniversary and booked the Romantic Getaway through the hotel and had an absolutely fabulous time. Our waiter was wonderful as were the food and drinks.
We have enjoyed 1741 Terrace several times now. The food is excellent, and the setting inside the hotel is beautiful. We feel like the interior is a little strange and could use an update. But we are willing to overlook that because everything else always surpasses our expectations. This most recent meal was during Bethlehem's restaurant week and was an outstanding deal.
Let me start by saying that 1741 Terrace can't be beat as far as charm and atmosphere. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I made a reservation on OpenTable and in the notes put that it was my mother's birthday. Not expecting a production, but thought I would note it. When the restaurant called to confirm the reservation, the woman said "And we see it's someone's birthday!" So, I think - nice, maybe they'll write on her dessert plate or something, or at least even welcome us with a Happy Birthday greeting.
Upon arrival, there was no hostess to check in with for about 5 minutes. Once seated, our waitress made a point to tell us how incredible it was that Hotel B was offering a restaurant week menu of $35 - incredible they'd do something that affordable. It was a little tacky to put it that way. Overall, the service was very slow - especially given that it wasn't busy and it was a pre-fixe menu.
Appetizers were very good. My companions' entrees were good (beef & salmon) and beautifully plated. I ordered the mahi mahi for mine, and it visually was all one color and the fish was overcooked. Desserts took too long to come out - so long that I had to ask if they had been put in for us. When it arrived, and with coffee, the waitress made a point to note that the coffee cups weren't dirty, but just very old porcelain. It was an odd thing to point out since we had not even noticed.
And while not egregious, there was no acknowledgement of the birthday we were celebrating. Attention to detail is the difference between average service to exemplary service. 1741 Terrace missed an opportunity to make us feel special and convert a one time guest into a recurring customer. I'd recommend going to 1741 terrace for the atmosphere, but would warn guests to not expect good service.
We love coming to the Hotel Bethlehem's 1741 Terrace restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the food superb and the service was excellent! It is pricey so we don't come as often as we would like. We do tell our friends all about the Hotel and its restaurant and recommend they go there! It is a real treat!
We had a delicious romantic dinner for my girlfriend’s birthday at the 1741. Everything about it was fantastic! Our server Sarah was friendly and very attentive and Courtney who assisted her was so helpful and friendly too. The scenery was beautiful, the food delicious, and overall it was a great experience.
Great, maybe the best, place for dinner in or near Bethlehem, PA. Sara, our server, was a professional, efficient, and extremely personable. The ambiance was truly special as was the food. Highly recommended.
Welcomed, organized. Sarah was very engaged, astute and responsive. All were on the top of their game.
We were celebrating a co-workers retirement with a small group of close six friends. We had a great table next to the huge windows looking out on old downtown Bethlehem. Wait staff was prompt and service was great. App and main courses were tasty and well prepared. The ambience of the old hotel and the marble stairways are very nostalgic and quaint. Overall good time and reasonable price!
We were celebrating a son and daughter in law’s 20th wedding anniversary. From the surprise complimentary champagne toast to a special order of Penn State Creamery ice cream delivered from across the street, service was outstanding. Food was delicious, view of downtown Bethlehem from our table was spectacular. Definitely a repeater!!!
Very nice place and i really like the food a lot. You feel like you went back in time to 1920.. also the drink it's a top class
! Dinner was lovely!! Waiting staff friendly and professional The Dining Room is gorgeous!! I would highly recommend for any occasion!!! 5*s all the way!!!!
