Dinner was superb. Dining room comfortable with a window view. Bar afterward, for a nightcap and Beth the bartender was friendly and obviously loves her job.
Would suggest this dining experience to everyone. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent Sunday Brunch. We went there for the excellent view of the boiling waves sea after a storm. We were gratified to find out that since we had been there last (3-5 years ago) the view is even better and the food and interior are all even better than the wonderful "neighborhood gem" we remembered. This is one heck of a great value, with an extraordinary sea view and warm, wood-paneled interior.
Excellent food and service in a cozy, cheerful dining room
Great food but expensive. The food was really good but the waitstaff took a long time to get to us we waited at least 20 minutes before being waited on.
Always have a great experience at york harbor inn!
Got married here and had the best experience, whith Cheyenne and paul, and Greg!
we returned for valintines day and they gave us our sweetheart table and Champagne
Apon no request, just great service, very comfortable, welcoming and friendly
I would recommend it to anyone,
Really great flavorful food!
Excellent food and great service. The waitestaff was very personable and being handed a beautiful long stemmed red rose for valentines day at the end of our meal was the frosting on the cake. We will return.
Excellent lobster dinner and exceptional service. Maine blueberry pie for dessert is always our favorite when we heave dinner here. Made a special trip here just for Valentine's Day.
food was lukewarm when served , prices were out of line for value received . Overall would not return nor recommend in the future.
This was our first time at this wonderful gem. Hostess and bartender were very welcoming. Ian our waiter was superb. Jack and Rich
I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, very New England in decor. Chock full of lobster and scallops, my meal was excellent. Though our waitress was very friendly, I believe she was stressed because every table was full, and I think there was a shortage of staff. My husband had ordered asparagus. A substitution of egg plant was made, but the waitress was unable to come back to our table when we were eating for him to ask about the switch. We did not know if it was unavoidable or if a mistake had been made. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling in the York area.
We have a condo in York and it is one of our favorite places to dine when we are here we dine here at least once a week. Take family and would recommend it to anyone visiting York
Wonderful evening at this historic venue...our server Melissa was wonderful
York Harbor Inn is very cozy and warm. The ambience is top notch, and the service is incredible. Their food is typically outstanding as well, and they have a great specialty cocktail list.
Wonderful dinner with superb service. Would highly recommend this for anyone that is looking for a romantic dinner. I recommend calling ahead for reservations.
This was our first time there for a quick getaway at the York Harbor Inn and we made reservations at this restaurant because it was part of the inn and we didn’t have to leave to have a meal. The atmosphere was nice, the food was delicious and the service was great ! The price of the food on the menu was not too expensive. We had appetizers, drinks and our meal for under hundred dollars . I will definitely go back again when I’m up in that area !
The food was fresh and flavorful and left new wanting more. Had the French onion soup and scallop appetizer special, the filet with a leaning tower of seafood on top, and chicken Madeira special. Decadent gingerbread pudding with caramel drizzle... yum
We chose this restaurant based on a prior New Year's Eve spent in their lovely dining room. Unknown to me, this year was a priced fixed menu that cost us $250 for 2. What was most disturbing was that we were seated n an overflow room, which was miserably quiet..not what we had in mind for a New Year's Eve dinner. We were forced to listen to the dreadful conversation of the party of six next to us. We never got our intermezzo course, nor dessert. We were told to go upstairs for dessert but all the tables were reserved and no dessert was in sight. A very very disappointing experience.
Food was really good. I wouldn't say it was great. Appetizers were better than the main course. Asparagus could have been cooked a little more. Scallops were over cooked. Flourless chocolate cake wasn't that great. Drinks were great. Appetizers were really good. We sort of wishes we just stuck with the appetizers instead of ordering apps and entrees. Service was very good. Inn and restaurant were super cute. If we went back, we would just get appetizers and drinks and probably sit at the bar.
We absolutely loved our entire dining experience at 1637 at York Harbor Inn! We arrived a bit early for our reservation, yet were pleasantly welcomed and went downstairs to the bar and enjoyed a drink in the stylish ship environment. When seated upstairs for dinner, we loved all items we chose to share: lobster & corn chowder, seared tuna, strawberry spinach salad, and the osso buco!!! And service was outstanding!
The staff at the York Harbor Inn are wonderful. They go out of their way to make your visit comfortable!
Relaxed feel, comfortable dinning with friends. Been there many times - The food and service is the best in York.
A mixed bag. My wife started with a beet salad that was extraordinary and I had a seafood chowder that was loaded with seafood. But the entrees...my wife ordered Beef Brochettes done medium and received rare beef, I ordered Seafood Ravioli that came with overcooked shrimp.
View and ambience alone are worth the visit. Prices on the higher side of average, but not expensive. Quality of foid is good, but some if the dishes seemed to be prenafe and warmed up, drying out the food. This was noticed on the appetizers and side dishes, not the main courses.
I had the sea food in a broth over pasta. Was wonderful, but portion was small. Service was great at desk but average at table. Could use more attention to changing silverware and plates with appetizer and main courses.
I loved the place and will likely return.
One of our favorite places. Great brunch menu and you can not beat the ocean view. Food is great, good coffee and it was not noisy. Good service too! Enjoyed the smoked salmon special and my hubby got a great omelet.
This restaurant is always a highlight during our weekend getaways to the Kittery Outlets! No matter the season, the view out the multiple windows is quaint and peaceful. The food id innovative and always delicious. The ambience is conducive to a romantic date night.
Fine dining, nice atmosphere, nice for special evening, Anniversary, birthdays, etc.
We will return for sure.
Always a nice visit to York Harbor Inn ! Whether upstairs or down in the Ships Pub food is good ,drinks are good great atmosphere ?
We had a fantastic anniversary dinner experience here. The hostess presented us with complimentary sparkling wine to toast :). We ordered the duck confit salad on the special list and got the seafood ravioli which was fantastic!
The hostess was very sweet & brought us over 2 glasses of complimentary champagne for our anniversary.
We visited the restaurant twice during a short stay (mini-moon) in York. Saturday the hostess, waiter, and back of the house were all aware of the food allergies of my wife and we had an excellent dinner. This review is really of the second trip. The hostess, recalling us from Saturday, was aware of my wife's food allergies. We don't know if this information was relayed to the waiter, but we did inform him of the same to ensure an issue free dinner. The waiter wrote nothing concerning my wife's allergies. We took this as a bad sign, but some waitstaff don't and recall everything just fine. We placed our order, which appeared to get lost, as people who ordered after us received their meals first. My wife's plain haddock was delivered with bread crumbs. Since gluten was one of my wifes listed allergies, this was not good. The waiter offered to have it made again, we declined, as we could not fathom how plain haddock, with a baked potato could have gotten screwed up. We paid our bill with a minimal tip and left. Service was terrible. The waiter we had on Monday was terrible. No manager came to apologize. Overall a terrible experience this time. Not going to rush back.
Nice place, very good food, kind people
We stayed overnight in the Inn so were able to enjoy two meals - both incredibly good. Basic bread basket served first with roasted garlic and oil spread. We both had the 8 oz filets the first night - cooked exactly as asked for (which is a nice change from most places which over or undercook meats), with lightly roasted asparagus and polenta as sides. Polenta a nice change from mashed potatoes, lightly seasoned, buttery and overall wonderful flavor. Second night - Korean Salmon - once again cooked to perfection served with a lightly season rice and roasted asparagus. Servings were a healthy-size with a simple beautiful presentation. For guests staying over, there is a complimentary full breakfast buffet. Nothing better than enjoying breakfast with an ocean view.
We love this place! But things were a little off on our last visit. A skunk outdated bottle of beer for one, a flat beer from the tap on another, had to wait quite a while for drink replacements, then they ran out of bread and had to wait for Some to thaw, all very off from the normal. Wasn’t a great night but we will be back and how this was one off night.
We are always satisfied when coming here and we tend to make use of the special 3-course meals available prior to 6:00 PM. This time the special was $21.95 - a great deal for a great meal!
We had a wonderful anniversary meal at the York Harbor Inn. The seafood ravioli was excellent, as was the haddock special. Service was good and the staff very friendly. We hope to return and visit their ship-themed bar as well as sample their lunch menu.
Been a regular once or twice a yer for special occasions. Still the best filet and seafood anywhere from Maine to Connecticut. Beautiful superior service - just awesome experiences.
The meal and service in the was outstanding! We had a drink before dinner in the pub downstairs and the service could have been better.
Wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful setting. The food was good, but not great. Service was fair. Waiter had to be asked multiple times for drink re-orders. He couldn't seem to remember our requests.
Excellent meal. Friendly staff. Nice chat with chef.
Outstanding dining experience. The atmosphere and ambience could not have been better. The selection was Superior and the creativity added to our enjoyment.
