About
We were in for a family wedding and the 17 of us not involved in the rehearsal had dinner at 15 Ria. We had 4 small children and one person in the wheel chair. They took care of everything and made sure all our requests were met. We were very disorganized since we had not been together as a group in a while. The staff was wonderful -- very patient with us and accommodating. Everyone loved their food. I know in particular the mozzarella sticks, small chicken tacos, flat bread pizza with shrimp and Shrimp Avocado was very good. They let us get appetizers from the bar menu. We brought a birthday cake and they stored it in their refrigerator for us and brought it out with candles (which I forgot) at dessert time.
They put together a long table for 17 people at the edge of the restaurant which allowed us to walk around the table an speak to various people during the dinner.
There were only two patrons in the restaurant when I visited for lunch. Yet, service was incredibly slow. It was also generally bad. I ordered soup and an entree. Before I'd had four spoonfuls of soup, the entree arrived. Really bad timing. And although I ordered the meat medium-well, I was served a well-done hockey puck that was brunt on the edges. Terrible time and I don't plan to return.
This restaurant is set up to take advantage of travelers. I don't know how this restaurant has so many stars, nor why the description doesn't mention that it is the restaurant of the Doubletree Hotel. I should have read the reviews, which would have told me that it was the Doubletree restaurant, but the description sounded good, and it had four stars, so I made a reservation. When I met my friend there, I discovered that it was a hotel restaurant. Giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, we ordered. The food on the basic menu was was uninspired and not particularly fresh. It was the same quality as an average lunch buffet, but in a city with a number of good-to-great lunch buffets, average is disappointing. For the same price my friend and I could've had fresher, more inspired food at many, many restaurants in DC.
Nice setting; buffet (although on restaurant site it showed menu for Sunday). Choice of food; however, food was uncovered then covered, so food was not warm at it should have been; including pancakes). Plates were not cleared from the table after we went back to the buffet to help ourselves to some more food.
Out together a last minute birthday brunch and found that 15 Ria could accommodate. They were great about our last minute additions as our group continued to grow. People had a range of more breakfast and lunch entrees. Everyone said they liked what they had. Nice service.
While I found the food sufficient, I was a bit disappointed as they advertise the local farms that are suppliers. I was hoping for more uniqueness. I guess they must have to consider the hotel guests and that is why it was uneventful.
THIS THE DOUBLETREE. It's a fine experience, but it's a hotel restaurant like most others.
I met four colleagues for a business meeting and we got a lot done! We discussed our business over a few drinks, continued over dinner and wrapped up our evening! Valet parking and outdoor dining making this upcoming outdoor season an amazing opportunity for 15 Ria!
The food was really good and we received great service. We didn't have to wait a long time for our food either. The ambiance was great, we sat right by the fireplace. Happy hour prices are to die for!!
Service was delightful, and salmon was exquisitely prepared. Nice pasta dish with mushrooms and spinach
There was no host to greet us. We had to find someone working (1 waitress and 1 bartender) . It was 20 degrees outside and felt like 21 degrees inside. This was after the blizzard 4 days after the last last snow fall. However l don't know how you have two people working, NO HEAT, and children yelling the entire time. The food was good but l would never go back
We celebrate the holidays at 15ria year after year.
Based on the menus and reviews it looked like a nice small new restaurant. Food was great but it was inside the Double Tree hotel and definitely had the feel of a hotel restaurant. There was hardly anyone there yet our service was still very slow and disorganized.
Did not know this was in a hotel when i made the reservation. Met an out of town friend for late breakfast and tho the food was fine, it was nothing special. We were the only ones in the place! Would have preferred a standalone restaurant but this one got such good reviews...cant figure it out.
Had a great lunch there with colleague!
I had n early Thursday dinner. Host and wait staff were great. As was the food. It's pretty obviously a hotel restaurant but otherwise nice. I'll be back.
We ended up at 15ria when busy lunch spots downtown could not accommodate a party of 5 for lunch. It ended up being a much better choice, mostly because it was blissfully quiet and allowed for easy conversation across the table. Everyone was very happy with their food, which included entree salads, wraps and a vegetarian pasta dish. One of our party even asked for an item not on the menu - a turkey burger - and said it was excellent. Service was friendly, efficient and non-intrusive.
I've been to 15 Ria several times. The food is usually pretty good. On this particular occasion (my birthday) , I enjoyed my meal (fisherman's stew), as did my two sisters (ribeye and shrimp scampi rigatoni), my friend however, was disappointed with the steak, which was one of the evening's specials. The ribeye is a far better choice. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and the prosciutto flatbread. The crab cake was pretty good, lots of crab. The prosciutto was ham and not prosciutto, there is a difference, but it was still good none the less.
The restaurant was pretty empty; our table and one other. The waiter was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed ourselves and I know I will certainly be back again. That said, I always use a restaurant.com gift certificate, which makes visiting the restaurant worth it.
The food was good and waitstaff was very pleasant, albeit a little slow. We weren't in a hurry, so it was no problem. For those in a hurry, I recommend the buffet. Looked good, though we ordered off the menu.
The crab fritters is the only item I would order again. Steak salad needed seasoning; Mac and cheese had a odd, off-putting taste; rib-eye steak needed to bet rimed - 1/3 of it was inedible; and grilled asparagus was bitter. Nice selection of drinks that were good.
Great restaurant! The dinner was wonderful, the crab fritter for App. Which was perfectly cooked and the scampi shrimp was delicious. Service was great and Attentive. They have Happy Hour everyday including the weekend from 4pm to 7pm. Thanks for nice dinner!
Excellent service, great atmosphere
Abbas, Rosa, and Mario are the best! Worth the trip.

This restaurant is located in the lobby of a Double Tree hotel, and is nothing more than a hotel convenience for its patrons. My boyfriend and I ate here during DC restaurant week 2015, however their corresponding menu was scant and did not include anything for a vegetarian (like myself). I was allowed to order mushroom rigatoni a la carte from the standard menu, the only meat-free option other than a salad. Sadly, I found out (the hard way) that the meal was made with beef broth. My boyfriend ordered the salmi and did enjoy it.
We were not provided a drink menu, had to ask for it and were surprised that it did not include beer or wine, only liquor. The bourbon drinks we ordered were undrinkable, so strong we sent them back. Finally, the cheesecake tasted like something that was purchased from a grocery store (overly sweetened, definitely preservatives present). Outside of my boyfriend's well-cooked salmon, there was little redeemable about the experience. And the bill totaled over $100. NOT worth it, and we will not be back.
We had lunch at this restaurant on a Friday. Food and service were excellent. But the restaurant was almost empty. It deserves to be better known.
No manners at the restaurant portion. They will need management to upgrade their customer service. They are not helpful or attentive! Under staff ! The bar area is very friendly and great bartenders !
Made reservations here after having to change my schedule for celebrating my bfs birthday. It was great for a last minute find, wasn't crowded at all & the very nice decor made for a wonderful evening. The waitress was even able to accommodate my request & brought him a chocolate dessert with a candle & the staff sang happy birthday.
It took 45 minutes for our order to arrive and the waitress had absolutely no personnel. After one visit we avoided this place for the rest of our visit and will never return.
I have been to 15RIA before but the menu has changed it is more expensive and the average entree is $25. I had the braised ribs with mashed potatoes, shredded carrots and cabbage. The cabbage was hiding in the potaoes. The vegetables were smashed together under my meat. I did not like that at all. The restaurant trying for a gourmet dish but the portions are too small for the price increase. The clam chowder was okay. I like the quiet decor of the restaurant.
I had dinner with some friends at 15 RIA. It is in a hotel, which usually does not speak well for a restaurant, but this is above par for a hotel dining room. The room is pretty and the ambiance quite romantic. The menu is limited, but had choices for all. There was one server on, who did his best, but was overwhelmed. He did manage to keep calm and display a great personality. The food was surprisingly good and ample. The wine list was also nice with a good variety. All in all, a nice place that I would visit again.
Great place for a nice meal. Excellent service! Will definitely come again! Ask for Rosa, Mario, or Abbas

The salad was overdressed and soggy. It was supposed to be a kale salad but barely had any kale in it. The salmon entrée was cold - the salmon, potatoes and asparagus. When I told the waitress that, they merely put it under a warmer instead of making a fresh plate. I only went there because I had a gift certificate and I'm glad of that. I can take comfort in the fact that I only paid for essentially 2 glasses of wine, which was fine.
Its never a good start when you cant find the restaurant. It is inside the hotel, but when you get to the "area" there is no one to greet you and all you can see at that moment is the bar. Perhaps the cocktail area to the right, if that is what it is. An outside patio. To the left, a bit hidden is what I think is the dining area. It was nice enough, once found, and once you find someone to seat you and to serve you.
Once we got a server, he was nice. But either he was pretty busy or not sure what, as he would disappear for long periods of time. Took forever. The food was just meh. The salad was a highlight BLT, great slices of tomatoes, nice bacon, good dressing. The steak was very chewy for its type (ribeye) and flavorless.
Three of my friends and I went here for dinner. Overall, it was not a very positive experience. When we arrived, we were told the garage was full & a random company was handling valet parking, so it would now cost $20 to valet instead of $7. Even though I had spoken to the restaurant earlier that day, they couldn't find our reservation. This was not a problem, though, because we were literally the only customers inside. Despite this, the service was extremely slow. They didn't bring enough menus for our table, & it took more than 15 minutes for our drink order to arrive. The server poured the bottle of wine we ordered, but not evenly, so one of my friends didn't get a full glass while the others did. The food was ok, but I won't go back.
Not worth the trip, we had a better meal at Boston Market last night and the service, yes, service at BM was great. Each of the 3 guys working there had a pleasant attitude and the food was hot and tasty, better than 15ria. Oh and cheaper.
would not make this a regular-- room seems ready for a freshening up if not a makeover, food is just so-so
Good place for a quiet meal - definitely above average for a hotel restaurant. Our meal was well prepared and the service was appropriate. Staff were engaged and very polite.
Otherwise, find somewhere else to go. Despite the fact that we were the only patrons in the restaurant when we arrived, we waited way too long for everything. We should have had white glove service since there was nothing else for the wait staff to do. The food was just so so, relatively tasteless but edible with a little doctoring. My chili rubbed salmon tasted more like paprika then any other spice and my husband's steak was tender but otherwise less than flavorful.
