About 15 Point Road
15 Point Road, A special treat in Portsmouth Rhode Island along the Sakonnet River. Busy, but not crowded, 15 Point offers casual upscale dining with an enchanting moonlit river view. A traditional menu, strongly influenced by the local bounty (especially from the sea), pleases most everyone and house specialties are an ever-changing eclectic delight of innovative and contemporary dishes. Once inside you will be entranced by the view of the Sakonnet River which leads out to the ocean beyond through the panorama of windows. While enjoying Al Fresco dining on our deck, across the river you will occasionally notice the local fishing boats as they make their way to the Tiverton fish market. If you're lucky enough, you might even catch one of the local lobstermen heading out to tend his lobster traps in Mount Hope Bay!

15 Point Road Ratings and Reviews
One of my best dining experiences; the culmination of the perfect setting, ambiance, (very thoughtful decor; modern yet cool, cozy, and inviting), amazingly personable staff - our waitress was just fabulous, and insanely attentive, friendly - and the food was made with love and care, the lobster stuffed sirloin with the Gorgonzola cheese sauce made the food angels in my taste buds sing, also recommend the sweet potato encrusted Salmon - even the side were delightful, the creamed spinach with parmesan was fresh and I wanted a huge plate to take with me! We also enjoyed the Malbec served at the restaurant; this was our first time visiting and we look forward to starting a long and tasty relationship in the future!
Came here for New Years Eve Dinner. Never been before but always wanted to try. The food was very good, place very casual but upscale scene. The only disappointing thing was they had a pre-fixed menu for that particular night. You could only order certain dishes and it was $45 per person. Normally the entrees they let you select from range from $25-$30 and already come with soup or salad. The only extra you did receive was dessert. If I had know I would have to pay almost double for the same entrée I could have gotten the next day I would have saved it.
Still my go to restaurant for a great dining experience. My wife and I have tried just about everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed although her favorite is still the salmon and mine the half baked stuffed lobster. With a friendly and pleasant staff and owners, delicious food, and awesome location it's a recipe sure to please anyone's pallette.
We chose a pri-fixe dinner, shrimp scampi and salmon. Excellent. I have been going there for a number of years and the food has always been great. One of my favorites is Scallops Block Island. Friendly service and reasonable wine prices. Great place especially in the he summer! The only negative is the parking.
This was our first time here and it was during restaurant week. Sean greeted us immediately and was very nice. The wait staff was equally attentive and helpful in trying to decide what to eat. I loved the apple butternut soup and the filet Mignon with a fantastic side of spinach. I forget what was in it but it was perfect. My dessert was the beignets with a perfect portion of fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Loved it but could have used a little less sugar. I would definitely come back again only earlier in the day so we could enjoy the views.
Very disappointed. Food was awful and service was very poor. My steak came out raw, pink throughout when it was to be well. My boyfriends broccoli was raw and yellowish. Defintely not fresh same for the salad the lettuce was wilted and not fresh. Other tables were also complaining about the produce and their meals. They sat us in the corner near a table that caused us to be blocked in. We couldnt even get out to use the restroom. It wasnt a nice evening and food was horrible.
My friends and I went to 15 Point Rd during Newport Restaurant Week and had a wonderful dining experience. The menu selection is extensive, the decor is a beautiful modern upscale beachy, the food was delicious and the service was attentive and professional. We liked the apple butternut bisque but the baked brie appetizer was amazing! For dinner we chose a veal dish and a scallop dish, both excellent. For dessert we tried it all, beignets, pumpkins cheesecake and carrot cake...all so very good! Definitely going back!
My family and friends have been going to 15 Point Rd for several years and have never had an issue with service or the food. So this time we went on a Monday because it was Newport restaurant week and was a little disappointed. Our reservation was for 8:00 and only got seated at 8:15 which wasn't bad since they were very busy, but after sitting down for a while, we had to ask a waitress who was our waitress for the table and since she couldn't find who our waitress was, she made our table hers. She was very good and provided us excellent service after that. The appetizers were excellent, the baked stuffed shrimp and stuffing was to die for, the steak tips were just ok. The seasoning and sauce was not to my liking.
Enjoyed everything about my experience. We visited during restaurant week, which gave us an opportunity to check out this restaurant for the first time. I loved that their prefixe menu had several options. Sometimes prefixe menus can offer very limited options. I loved everything that I ate, even my picky daughter enjoyed every bite. The ambience is great and the service was wonderful. Unfortunately it was dark and rainy the night I went so I couldn't get a look of the view outside of the restaurant. I live in Boston but would be glad to make the 1 hour drive to 15 Point Road again.
I was expecting a lot after reading all the 5 star reviews. Did Restaurant week dinner and had the stuffed lobster - the meat was like rubber - I chewed it and spit it out. There was so much stuffing it hid the smallness of the lobster and overwhelmed the taste. Starter was brie baked in phyllo - it was very good. Dessert was carrot cake - it was kinda pudding like in texture - not to my taste.
Reservation for 5 became 6. In making the change I also changed the time of the reservation to 2 hours earlier. Luckily Sean called to ask if we were still coming. I replied yes, at 7:00 PM. Then I realized I'd made an error. The end result was that we ended up being delayed and after calling he said we were fine and upon arrival it was obvious they were pretty busy. He told us if we were willing to wait a bit longer we'd have a much better table for our group. He was right and we had a great time! Four of us chose from the Restaurant Week menu and two from the regular menu. No one was disappointed by the meal or the experience. We all loved the place and talked about returning.
Maybe I expected too much because of all the rave reviews. Beautiful place. Service was fine. I had a long hair in my appetizer, my steak was ordered medium but served completely rare and the rest of the food was very bland. Did not taste bad, just very little flavor. I really wanted food that was amazing, not just ok. Dessert and drinks were great though. Oh well. Did not complain while i was there, im sure they would have taken the food off my bill or fixed it. I just didnt want to ruin my night with a problem.
