15 Point Road Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time here and it was during restaurant week. Sean greeted us immediately and was very nice. The wait staff was equally attentive and helpful in trying to decide what to eat. I loved the apple butternut soup and the filet Mignon with a fantastic side of spinach. I forget what was in it but it was perfect. My dessert was the beignets with a perfect portion of fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Loved it but could have used a little less sugar. I would definitely come back again only earlier in the day so we could enjoy the views.
Very disappointed. Food was awful and service was very poor. My steak came out raw, pink throughout when it was to be well. My boyfriends broccoli was raw and yellowish. Defintely not fresh same for the salad the lettuce was wilted and not fresh. Other tables were also complaining about the produce and their meals. They sat us in the corner near a table that caused us to be blocked in. We couldnt even get out to use the restroom. It wasnt a nice evening and food was horrible.
My friends and I went to 15 Point Rd during Newport Restaurant Week and had a wonderful dining experience. The menu selection is extensive, the decor is a beautiful modern upscale beachy, the food was delicious and the service was attentive and professional. We liked the apple butternut bisque but the baked brie appetizer was amazing! For dinner we chose a veal dish and a scallop dish, both excellent. For dessert we tried it all, beignets, pumpkins cheesecake and carrot cake...all so very good! Definitely going back!
My family and friends have been going to 15 Point Rd for several years and have never had an issue with service or the food. So this time we went on a Monday because it was Newport restaurant week and was a little disappointed. Our reservation was for 8:00 and only got seated at 8:15 which wasn't bad since they were very busy, but after sitting down for a while, we had to ask a waitress who was our waitress for the table and since she couldn't find who our waitress was, she made our table hers. She was very good and provided us excellent service after that. The appetizers were excellent, the baked stuffed shrimp and stuffing was to die for, the steak tips were just ok. The seasoning and sauce was not to my liking.
Enjoyed everything about my experience. We visited during restaurant week, which gave us an opportunity to check out this restaurant for the first time. I loved that their prefixe menu had several options. Sometimes prefixe menus can offer very limited options. I loved everything that I ate, even my picky daughter enjoyed every bite. The ambience is great and the service was wonderful. Unfortunately it was dark and rainy the night I went so I couldn't get a look of the view outside of the restaurant. I live in Boston but would be glad to make the 1 hour drive to 15 Point Road again.
I was expecting a lot after reading all the 5 star reviews. Did Restaurant week dinner and had the stuffed lobster - the meat was like rubber - I chewed it and spit it out. There was so much stuffing it hid the smallness of the lobster and overwhelmed the taste. Starter was brie baked in phyllo - it was very good. Dessert was carrot cake - it was kinda pudding like in texture - not to my taste.
Reservation for 5 became 6. In making the change I also changed the time of the reservation to 2 hours earlier. Luckily Sean called to ask if we were still coming. I replied yes, at 7:00 PM. Then I realized I'd made an error. The end result was that we ended up being delayed and after calling he said we were fine and upon arrival it was obvious they were pretty busy. He told us if we were willing to wait a bit longer we'd have a much better table for our group. He was right and we had a great time! Four of us chose from the Restaurant Week menu and two from the regular menu. No one was disappointed by the meal or the experience. We all loved the place and talked about returning.
Maybe I expected too much because of all the rave reviews. Beautiful place. Service was fine. I had a long hair in my appetizer, my steak was ordered medium but served completely rare and the rest of the food was very bland. Did not taste bad, just very little flavor. I really wanted food that was amazing, not just ok. Dessert and drinks were great though. Oh well. Did not complain while i was there, im sure they would have taken the food off my bill or fixed it. I just didnt want to ruin my night with a problem.
Anniversary dinner. Great atmosphere and environment. Scenic views of water and marina. I loved my meal which was pesto encrusted salmon. The rest was disappointing. My husband ordered the steak medallions which he said was good but not enough. Our waitress wasn’t the most attentive and a bit forgetful. The wait between courses was a bit much, and the wait for our check was even worse.
My second visit. First one was outstanding which is why I brought hubby for anniversary dinner. I may give it one more chance.
Extensive menu, everything sounded wonderful. Hard to choose, seafood choice was great! We would definitely come back, probably in the future we will eat at the bar. Bar ambiance for us was better suited. Bartender was friendly and welcoming. Stephanie our server was so good and a real pleasure! Great staff, great food!
Great food and great service. Very inviting, cozy place. Lots of variety on the menu. I had a tough time deciding there were so many great menu choices. I went with the seafood. My husband and daughter got two different beef entrees. Everything was delicious. I will definitely go back to try other dishes. They also had a great cocktail menu. I would definitely recommend.
To be honest, my husband and I have been to the restaurant on quite a few different occasions. Unfortunately, this last trip the food was not as good as usual. The seafood en brick was overcooked, butternut risotto was flavorless and the spaghetti squash was disgusting- not only in flavor but appearance. Ordinarily I wouldn't even mention appearance but since the restaurant takes care to create height and add flowers to your main dish plate- your sides should deserve some attention as well. We will most likely return at another time but I won't rush back after that visit. Worst part is that the severs clear your plates without asking how your food even was. You think when half your meal is left behind there might have been something wrong. My husband had the baked stuffed lobster and enjoyed his main dish. Again the spinach au gratin was not enjoyed either.
Fabulous food, creative presentation. Delicious drink specials. Wait staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Wonderful atmosphere. The food was amazing. Scallops wrapped in bacon, deconstructed beef wellington unbelievable. Delicious. Definitely go back!
Started off with mix up on reservation time. We arrived 30 minutes early, and instead of just showing us to the bar and telling us to have a drink and table would be ready soon the Host was downright rude. After a drink and appetizers in the bar we were ask if we wanted a table upstairs otherwise we would have to wait awhile - we took the table upstairs figuring it would be fine. The service upstairs was sloooow since the staff has to run up and down the stairs with everything. The food was okay two of us got the swordfish special which as prepared well and tasty the sides were not. Potatoes both baked and sweet potato were under cooked and the vegetable was spaghetti squash with tomato which was cold and awful. It seem like the squash was thrown into blender with some canned tomatoes and served. The third member of our party ordered the Lobster Scampi which he said had an odd taste to it. All in all not a great meal or experience.
