14K Restaurant & Lounge - The Hamilton DC Ratings and Reviews
Searched hours for a place to meet family for lunch on Christmas Day. No easy feat.
Very few restaurants open and most hotels had Christmas buffets starting at $125.
Lucky to find this nice, cozy spot. The food was very good and the service was
Perfect. Would definitely meet there again, anytime!
I guess that I expected more in the food department. It was Christmas morning and we were trying to start a new tradition. The service was great, the place was nice and bright and clean. The food was mediocre at best and our food wasn't hot. Our server, Yeshialem, saved the day. She was great. One of our party's food was cold. She brought out some fruit in the interim so that she could eat something. She was friendly and accommodating. Thank goodness for Yeshialem!!
I thought their food was pretty good. I ordered their salmon and a mango Moscow mule. The fish was very moist and and the drink was so good. I also ordered their eggs Benedict from their breakfast menu and that was also really good. I do think their breakfast menu pricing is a little high though.
Went for brunch and be warned,Sunday brunch is tapas. If you are not a fan of fish, only vegetable soup or steak and eggs available.
If you want a good hearty breakfast, not the place on a Sunday. We were one of the 2 tables that were occupied, still slow service. The champagne cocktails were fun,but the seating time is limited to 2 hours and the slow service limits the number of these.
I would like to try this restaurant for lunch/dinner rather.
Not a very friendly bartender either, she looked irritated at working a Sunday
Great service. Food was delivered to the table quickly. Food was delicious. I will definitely return. It has restored my expectations in hotel restaurants, 14k definitely raises the bar. If you are staying at the Hamilton, no need to look any further, great food is in the building.
This one surprised me. We were looking for a cheaper restaurant in the DC area and the menu looked good. Being in a hotel, we had our doubts but decided to try it. I had the lamb and my wife had the veal. They were outstanding. Wine list also was inexpensive and limited but was able to fine a decent wine on there. I would definitely go back on my next visit to DC.
I was highly disappointed that due to not being aware that your restaurant did not participate the full week of restaurant week as most restaurants, my party of four decided not to leave due to the lack of accommodations.
We came here during Restaurant Week (summer) for lunch. The menu options were good, especially dessert (my skillet cookie & ice cream was so delicious and my judge's pistachio cheesecake was yummy!). We both cleaned our plates and the service was excellent. Our food came out hot and quick - perfect for a lunch service!
We came here after a Nationals baseball game on the 4th of July. It wasn't crowded - in fact, it was pretty empty because we were there at an odd time of day (3:30 pm) but the waiter was very accommodating, told us what was good on the menu and what wasn't, and our group of five was very pleased with the choices we made and his suggestions. The atmosphere is very pretty and it has a lovely patio - we would have sat out there if we hadn't been in the heat at the baseball game. A very nice restaurant.
The food was awesome and the wine list even better. The service was superb and we will definitely return! We received personalized service and we were made to feel very special on our 35th Wedding Anniversary. The Manager visited our table and our server was awesome. My husband is still raving about the rack of lamb. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Thank you Chef Battle for the memorable evening!
Went for Mothers Day Brunch. The food was good, but it seemed like this was the first time they ever did an event like this. It was a buffet which was not advertised and the setup was horrible. Don't get me wrong, I would probably eat here again, just not for an occasion like this.
We were there for Easter Sunday brunch because we stayed at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza and knew we'd be tired from walking all over the city for several days prior. First, no complaints on the food; it was tasty and abundant, if pricey, but that's to be expected. Our server was attentive and friendly.
I made a reservation for brunch for the one time offered on Open Table: 10:45. Saturday evening a man called to confirm and said Brunch started at 11, but we'd be seated at 10:45 and we could go through the line at 11. Fine. Sunday morning at 7:41 a.m.(!!) a woman called (we were sound asleep after an exhausting Saturday with much walking) to confirm we wanted brunch, not breakfast. Brunch. OK. We arrived at 10:50 and were told they were not ready, come back at 11. Came back a few minutes after 11, still not ready. Finally seated a few minutes later. Buffet looked great, but there were NO plates. Plates finally appeared. Food, as noted, was very good. Nice selection. Dessert was on the opposite end of the large room from the buffet. Again, NO plates, and no plates appeared while we were there. Plates were on the other end in buffet area. So: Food and table service good, planning and general service/preparedness disappointing, to say the least. And that early-morning phone call did not win them any points.
Comfortable upscale ambience. Friendly and accommodating staff. Food was good. But the bar upcharges were a bit ridiculous. $4 upcharge for Happy Hour Mixers and $2 upcharge for "rocks." I could maybe understand if it was special ice that should have been used to make a classic cocktail, but it was regular ice.
