Restaurant was empty (small private party in bar area and one other table of two) yet food took 75 minutes. No apology or announcement, we had to ask what was taking so long. Food was mediocre at best, very disappointing for southern fare. Cornbread tasted storebought and steak was over cooked and tough. Prices were high for quality received. Will not be back.
Amazing service and the food was excellent! The bar area has a wonderful collection of photographs. From the moment you walk in the door - you know it will be a special evening.
Such a disappointment. We've been wanting to go to Sunday brunch at 1300 Fillmore for years. Music was way too loud. The service was awful especially considering we were one of the first people seated. The food was marginal at best. My guest, whom also had never been was equally disappointed in the service and food.
I don't know what happened to this place. I used to go here all the time with friends and family and it really isn't the same. The food is not as good as it used to be. our steak was tough, the fried chicken was fatty, and it just didn't feel the same.
The live music on Fridays is still REALLY amazing. Come back 1300!
Booked room for team dinner. Folks arrived early, loved the bar area and vibe. Food was excellent. Staff was great. Overall wonderful experience.
Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance, received a text from restaurant to confirm reservation a day or 2 ahead, arrived at restaurant 15 mins before reservation time (6:15pm, and the restaurant was closed. No note on the door, no messages on my phone...nothing. Still have no diea why and OpenTable has done nothing.
I spent $18 overall getting there and then going to another restaurant. I want some compensation.
We met friends from Cal days for dinner one Saturday evening. The experience was superb. The food was excellent as well as the service, which was quite attentive. It's a favorite spot for us!

The menu has shrunk to half its size. Gone are the delicious deviled eggs.
We had the fried chicken. Tastes good, but $24 for three pieces of chicken with ZERO sides? We added potatoes and Mac and cheese for $16 more. It all tastes good but super expensive for what you get. The high wine prices don't help either.
It was a Friday night. We were on the early side as we had to work early the next day, but we were the only diners from 6 - 730 on a Friday.
Something for this restaurant is not working. I hope they figure it out. Are used to be an enjoyable experience, now it's simply OK.
Honestly we weren't blown away. I think the kitchen was having a difficult night and despite that, turned out a decent but really expensive meal.
Soul food that's price like this soul food is priced should be exceptional, and it was not. It was good. Friday night is prix fixe chicken dinner night and while the chicken was competently prepared, nothing about the meal really blew us away. Partner's steak was likewise quite good, but overall I think i'd return later on a Friday to share a very small bite and a drink or two, rather than coming for dinner.
The band and singer performing in the room around the corner from the dining room were awesome.
Overall, I'd have enjoyed this more had we not spent so much money, and instead shown up later to watch the show. Better yet, start the entertainment sooner and open up the space so everyone can watch... Consider a refresh of the menu, back to basics perhaps?
