Restaurant was empty (small private party in bar area and one other table of two) yet food took 75 minutes. No apology or announcement, we had to ask what was taking so long. Food was mediocre at best, very disappointing for southern fare. Cornbread tasted storebought and steak was over cooked and tough. Prices were high for quality received. Will not be back.

Amazing service and the food was excellent! The bar area has a wonderful collection of photographs. From the moment you walk in the door - you know it will be a special evening.

Such a disappointment. We've been wanting to go to Sunday brunch at 1300 Fillmore for years. Music was way too loud. The service was awful especially considering we were one of the first people seated. The food was marginal at best. My guest, whom also had never been was equally disappointed in the service and food.

I don't know what happened to this place. I used to go here all the time with friends and family and it really isn't the same. The food is not as good as it used to be. our steak was tough, the fried chicken was fatty, and it just didn't feel the same.

The live music on Fridays is still REALLY amazing. Come back 1300!

Booked room for team dinner. Folks arrived early, loved the bar area and vibe. Food was excellent. Staff was great. Overall wonderful experience.

Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance, received a text from restaurant to confirm reservation a day or 2 ahead, arrived at restaurant 15 mins before reservation time (6:15pm, and the restaurant was closed. No note on the door, no messages on my phone...nothing. Still have no diea why and OpenTable has done nothing.

I spent $18 overall getting there and then going to another restaurant. I want some compensation.

We met friends from Cal days for dinner one Saturday evening. The experience was superb. The food was excellent as well as the service, which was quite attentive. It's a favorite spot for us!

I haven't been to 1300 in nearly a year. It seems I am not the only one.

The menu has shrunk to half its size. Gone are the delicious deviled eggs.

We had the fried chicken. Tastes good, but $24 for three pieces of chicken with ZERO sides? We added potatoes and Mac and cheese for $16 more. It all tastes good but super expensive for what you get. The high wine prices don't help either.

It was a Friday night. We were on the early side as we had to work early the next day, but we were the only diners from 6 - 730 on a Friday.

Something for this restaurant is not working. I hope they figure it out. Are used to be an enjoyable experience, now it's simply OK.

Honestly we weren't blown away. I think the kitchen was having a difficult night and despite that, turned out a decent but really expensive meal.

Soul food that's price like this soul food is priced should be exceptional, and it was not. It was good. Friday night is prix fixe chicken dinner night and while the chicken was competently prepared, nothing about the meal really blew us away. Partner's steak was likewise quite good, but overall I think i'd return later on a Friday to share a very small bite and a drink or two, rather than coming for dinner.

The band and singer performing in the room around the corner from the dining room were awesome.

Overall, I'd have enjoyed this more had we not spent so much money, and instead shown up later to watch the show. Better yet, start the entertainment sooner and open up the space so everyone can watch... Consider a refresh of the menu, back to basics perhaps?

Wonderful Sunday brunch with live music. Grits and shrimp and avocado toast a must order ! Cajun Bloody Mary perfect accompaniment.

1300 on Fillmore was a major disappointment. The food was fine and the service was excellent, but we were there for the Sunday Gospel Brunch and there wasn't any gospel. Just a small combo playing tired hits from the 70s and 80s. If you're going to call it a Gospel Brunch .......

This restaurant lacks organization and the service was slow. Another server would not go amiss.

However, the food and ambience were terrific.

Very nice! Great food, great music. Only suggestion would be better seating arrangement for live music.

I made a reservation on Open Table and came all the way from Oakland to find the restaurant was closed. Was very disappointed.

Fried Chicken was very good. Did NOT like the Shrimp and Grits, they were served with a sweet white gravy, I prefer savory. Mac and cheese was bland. ALL -N-ALL just okay.

The bar was crowded because of the street fair. The restaurant was understaffed. Everything was fine but not outstanding. Bathrooms were dirty probably from street fair outside.

My best friends and I visited this location for the purposes of a "grabbing a bite to eat" and received so much more! As out of towners from New Orleans, we received a little taste of home. The food, atmosphere and music were the perfect mix of a fabulous dining experience. Monetta, the owner, greeted us with the "southern hospitality" that we were used to. Upon our visit back to San Francisco, we will definitely return for those flavorful shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles!!

Unimpressed with food quality. Extremely disappointed with how long we had to wait for the food. Food was cold and unappetizing upon presentation. An amateurish performance for such a well know location. 1300 is beginning to show its age, and it's getting tired, VERY tired. Very unfortunate!

After visiting this restaurant I'd likely not return. We came on Valentine's Day which ended up being a $75 prix fixe menu. This was not mentioned when booking the reservation. We however decided to stay since the table was booked and I didn't want the waiter to lose out.

The main reason we came was to try the fried chicken. We were quite disappointed with the lack of choices on the menu. The dishes although not bad weren't that memorable. The wait staff although not rude weren't incredibly accommodating either. There was also a mandatory 20% tip + 4% healthy sf tax. I was hesitant to pay this as I don't believe it was deserved.

It's unfortunate this restaurant charged an unreasonable amount on Valentine's Day without providing the experience you expect. In the end the meal cost $220 for 2 prix fixe meals and one cocktail. I would estimate the dinner should have been around $100 or less. It is unlikely I'll recommend this restaurant to friends or family even though I wanted to visit again for dinner, drinks and jazz.

The Andouille Hash and the house made biscuits were very good. Rest of the dishes were fine but a little ho-hum. The 'Gospel Brunch' wasn't Gospel-y
at all which was a major disappointment. More Motown than anything. LOUD Motown, so having conversations was challenging. Probably won't go back.

A great restaurant for dinner but gospel brunch disappointing. Music too loud. No gispel, closest we got was "Saints". Service was very poor.

Overall great. The hostess kinda forgot about us, even though we "checked in" having a reservation. I had to go and ask.

I hadn't been here for dinner in a while and since it was restaurant week I thought what a good reason to go back. My daughter and I had the blackened catfish w/jambalaya and the grilled steak w/mashed potatoes and collard greens with a side of biscuits. The catfish was delicious however the steak was a little firmer than I'd like and the collards had a little more of a bite to them than preferred. The biscuits were just ok they were too dense and not fluffy. Overall I enjoyed the meal and drinks.

P.S.... my pomegranate mojito was on point!

The dinner took 3.5 hours and the food was not something worth waiting for. I had the strip steak and the arugula salad. The steak was great and cooked well, but nothing special to wait an hour between meals. I would not recommend this again for the amount of time it took.

We made reservations for 7pm Sunday evening and was promptly seated. It was clear that the server was in the weeds but it is no excuse that she didn't even acknowledge us until 15 minutes later. The server greeted a party of four before greeting us and we a party of two were there first. She took our order but didn't do a check in after a few bites of our entrée. We had to ask her for the check. Clearly, there is an opportunity for improvement. The overall service experience did not meet our expectations. A restaurant cannot rely only on good food. The overall dining experience starts from the time you enter the restaurant, being greeted timely from the host/hostess stand and ends with a thank you from the host/hostess stand when you leave. Human interaction etiquette is extremely important and this restaurant fell short.

Disappointed. The website menu showed chicken and waffles available for brunch. They did not offer the chicken in person. So, decided to order the chicken and mashed potatoes - they were out of the mashed potatoes, so had to order the breakfast potatoes. The food was not as flavorable as when I visited before (several times). Also, the service was slow - it took 45 minutes before we were served with our food. In the meantime, we were not offered any type of bread or some time of appetizer while waiting - just drinks. The also ran out of the mix for Bloody Mary, so some of our guests just ordered the Mimosa.

We went there exclusively for the live music on sat night. No one even called us to warn the they were not having a band that night.
It seemed like no one thinks of the guests.

The food and the service were both extremely poor. When we walked in, we waited 5 minutes to be greeted by someone. There was no host or hostess in sight. The service was good at first but as the meal went on, they were less attentive. They ran out of multiple items, the hurricane cocktail (my boyfriend had the 'last one'), the Cabernet blend and the Brussels sprouts. We ordered an extra side of collared greens and they comped our sides (because they ran out of Brussels sprouts) which was appreciated. The fried chicken and collared greens were good, the pork duo was terrible. The pork was very dry and the bacon it was wrapped in was tasteless. It was served with slices of pork fat (?) on the side which were confusing and also not good. My boyfriend and I sat at the table for a while after our dinner, enjoying a glass of wine and we were never checked on again, or given refills of water. The ambiance is great, love the tall ceilings and swanky atmosphere but because the food and service were very poor, we will not return nor will we recommend it to friends or family.

the bottomless pomosas (pomogranate mimosas) are awesome and a good deal. Also, the food was very good. Great spot for brunch!

I so wanted to like 1300 Fillmore, as I had dined there twice in the past with large groups (we had taken over the whole restaurant for those evenings). The food had been excellent then (3-4 years ago). This time, with two family members, we went for New Year's Eve, and were disappointed. A 3-course prix fixe for $75 plus wine per person, with a choice of 3 entrees. The first course of shrimp and grits was excellent, but the entree (my 2 guests and I all had the ribeye steak) was not particularly noteworthy, although the fingerling potatoes were quite good. The cheesecake dessert was a bit heavy for cheesecake. As noted, I so wanted to like 1300 on Fillmore this time as my guests had come 2000 miles to be dazzled by San Francisco restaurants (and were paying rather steeply for this one), but unfortunately that night we were underwhelmed. I wondered if it was because Chef David Lawrence was not in the kitchen that evening. They should have offered the friend chicken, which is one of his specialties. One other thing: for New Year's Eve, the event should have been formalized by white tablecloths. Unfortunately, no tablecloths nor placemats -- bare wood. The ceiling was adorned with nice balloons, etc. which added a festive note, but not enough to recommend.

We paid almost $700 including a mandatory 20% tip for a Christmas dinner. The service was some of the worst we've ever encountered and I would not recommend this place for either a casual meal or a special occasion.
