It was great being able to support our local restaurants as we face the CoronaVirus and had a 25% off on the drinks.
Food was extremely poor. Ordered the silpancho and the Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was so garlicky and salty it was practically inedible and the steak lacked any flavor. Overall was not somewhere I would ever go again or recommend to friends.
Just delicious. Had to wait for table, staff very accommodating free drinks and dessert. Very attentive. Great ambiance but above all GREAT FOOD
This is our first time here and We had a great time! Food was delicious and our server Tony was so charming! He's awesome! We will come back definitely!
Our server Tony was great. Food delicious. I had the flat iron steak (local) special and it was fabulous. Good menu. Will be back to try the pork chops.
730pm they ran out of rice.. other than that meal was on point
We had a wonderful experience as usual. Food and drinks were great as usual. We still love coming here and will continue to visit.
One thing is the description on the menu we not what we expected. We ordered a "chopped steak" off the kid's menu. Everyone at our table expected thin or small sliced steak, but instead received a hamburger. It was a bit overcooked on one side and was a bit hard to chew. We were just caught off gaurd by the description. Most people would refer to it being a hamburger steak, but perhaps we are the only ones.
Excellent food all the way around. Corey our server was great.
Always wonderful, love their ahi brushetta and wonderful wine, short ribs amazing
Best restaurant in Oahu! About 10-15 minutes car ride from Waikiki, but 12th Ave. Grill amazes you with their good food & hospitality. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to Hawaii.
The hostess placed us as unknown guests in seating purgatory at the end of the bar, 3 tables down from the nearest diners and unacknowledged by the wait staff for over 10 minutes. We spoke up and were re-seated in the main dining area where our newly assigned waiter provided us excellent service. However we were surprised at the lack of fresh fish main dishes on the menu, with the seafood offerings limited to cioppino (that night's special) and scallops. And we were very disappointed with a "smoked ahi tuna bruschetta" that consisted of undistinguished creamed tuna topped with a tiny smidgeon of sun-dried tomato. Salad fortunately was varied and fresh. Based on the inconsistent quality of the food and initial seating experience, we would not consider returning to this restaurant.
Greeted and seated right away with reservation, the ambiance is soft lighting with wood interior. Service is excellent from intro on specials from meals to drink selections. Quality and Presentation of meal was excellent, beautiful combinations of flavors.
I walked in on a crutch due to surgery a few weeks earlier, and they made it very easy for me to get seated. I can certainly vouch for my braised Niihau lamb, and our desserts were totally delish while not being so gigantic one feels obliged to share. Loved it!
They serve the best pork chop in town or perhaps anywhere. That’s what I come for. The other items on the menu have always been disappointing, not bad, just not on the level of the pork chop.
Lauren provided the right amount of attention. She excellently described the specials.
Overall, experience was just okay. Food was decent. Service felt like it was "a have to" rather than welcoming. We were treated like we didn't belong.
Love this restaurant! Food and drink selection superior!
This is definitely one of the best places on the island to eat.
We've always loved 12th Avenue Grill. Tonight didn't live up to our past experiences. My glass of white wine took forever to come and was warm. Our waiter was unengaged and impatient. We'll try again but hopefully we'll have a different waitperson.
The service was terrible. The food could have been really good bc you could tell effort went into the food itself and presentation but our meals were extremely salty!
Appetizers started out very well - my dining partner had a Caesar salad which was very good, except that it lacked anchovies. I ordered the smoked ahi baguette and was very happy. Things went downhill from there for me although my partner was not unhappy. I ordered the pork chop and did not expect the sweetness. The pork chop came with what was advertised as a potato pancake. Not what I would call a potato pancake, and the center was not fully cooked, so I was crunching on almost raw potato. The other accompaniment was a stuffed baked apple. What that was was a half an apple that was still hard, topped with what tasted like canned apple pie filling. This restaurant did not live up to the reviews I read.
Been there at least 8-10 times since it opened, always been excellent food quality and service, friendly wait service. This was the first time there was a major problem with 2 of the 5 main entrees, both were the same that were excessively over salted! Their cost was taken of our final bill and we were given complementary desserts, which was a nice gesture. Because of previous excellent food and service we will return again.
The food was amazing.
My friend and I shared the Sunday Supper. I was very disappointed that the waiter did not point out that it came with a salad when we ordered an extra salad on the side. I was even more disappointed that he did not mention that the fact that because we shared the meal, it doubled the price. We both were not very hungry, which is why we planned on sharing. When we saw the price and questioned the waiter he said “oh sorry about that, I should have mentioned that you would be paying $31 each because otherwise the portion would be too small.” Very disappointing....
It's been a while since we visited 12th Ave. Grill, so we decided to try it again. Sadly, we quickly realized it was not a good choice on our part. First off, the server was not very friendly or welcoming. In fact, in looking around, no one there looked happy or like they even wanted to be working there. When greeted by our server, he noticed we had brought our own wine. Quickly he snapped, "You're okay with our corkage fee?"
Secondly, when ordering, we had one dish to be cooked well done and one to be cooked medium rare. The server looked flustered. In fact, he came back to our table and needed to verify our order. When we received our food, both were cooked well done. Somehow, we saw this coming.
Water glasses went unfilled, empty dishes were not cleared. And our sad server went missing for long periods of time. I'm not sure if this was an under-staffing problem, but clearly the restaurant was packed with every seat filled. We were there on the Sunday before the President's day holiday and it was packed. But Management should have accommodated for this, I feel. The expediter, asked us if our server was "taking good care of us", knowing that he clearly was in over his head and the restaurant was too busy to really give anyone exceptional service.
So whatever reputation that 12th Ave. Grill had been riding on for many years had clearly deteriorated to become a disaster. I cannot recommend 12th Ave. Grill to friends and family and will be taking my business elsewhere.
Always a treat to dine at 12 Ave Grill. Incredible bartenders and chefs who are masters of their craft!
Remains one of our favorite places. Food, drink, and Tony's service all excellent, as always.
Great vibe - but the greatness ends there. Colorful yet tasteless salad. I think they sliced the radishes the day before as all the flavor was gone! Food took way too long and my pork chop was over cooked and dry. Won’t go back!
Great staff and service
Fabulous scallops! I ate every morsel and so wanted more! Delicious!
Steak overcooked and sent back. 2nd Steak was full of gristle
It’s was a perfect pre-valentine/ belated birthday celebration with friends.
Our waitress was fantastic!
The Aloha spirit reigns supreme as soon as you enter the front door and continues till you leave. The creativity is multi layered as well as the wine list. And 12th Ave. Grill is a rarity since you will always find at least three awesome specials both on the chalk board and in the menu. We went specifically for their lamb burger. The BEST anywhere. We were just in the mood and it didn’t disappoint us.
While the taste of the food was very good the restaurant needs to improve it’s service. One side dish was so late that the manager comped it. Our lemonade based drinks required sweetener and even after several requests the sweetener never arrived.
Good food but very little ambiance. If you’re looking to make an impression look elsewhere.
We had appetizers, cocktails and dessert. The perfect meal. The server was attentive and easy to work with. Made great suggestions. We will definitely be back.
Our early dinner for a birthday celebration for two was everything we hoped it would be. So happy we chose 12th Ave.
Great food and service. Family friendly too. What a great experience.
I ordered at least 10 things and I was only happy with 2. All the food didn't have the best flavor or texture. The ahi bruschetta was just a tuna sandwich, the oysters were not shucked properly, the mahi was okay, and the house drinks did not wow me or my date. The restaurant is a bit dated and it's main target is for older individuals. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone since I am in my mid-20's the food is just dated and the ambiance is boring. It was a good experience, but I will never go back.
