The food here was delicious! We made a reservation for our anniversary and tried several dishes and we were not disappointed with any of them. Great little hidden gem!
We had been waiting over a year to come to this restaurant - so was a bit disappointed by the experience and the food. My 6'1', 200lb husband a I was sat in a narrow table in the corner when there were many other larger tables available - I was going to ask to move but didn't want to grumble assuming larger tables were being saved for 4 people. About 5 minutes later, another couple of 2 was sat across from us in a larger table.
Steak & Lobster was not worth the cost. Upgraded to a ribeye - ordered med rare, it was tough and rare so i brought the rest home so i could cook it longer and the scraps of lobster (plus 1 claw) was not good. His porkchop was overcooked and mac n cheese we ordered on the side was amazingly too strong (type of cheese? and too salty) so that came home with me so I could see if I could fix that too.
The best part about the meal was the Brussel Sprouts and Mango Cheesecake bread pudding. If there is a next time, maybe next time we'll just try a burger.
Good food, good service--and I actually like the outdoor setting.
This was such a great experience! The food is on the pricey side but it’s worth it!! The staff was really attentive and nice.
I was having dinner with a friend before a movie, so we got a number of starters to share and the incredibly yummy lamb burger. It was a lot more food than we anticipated! The burrata is big enough for 4, and the delicious salade niçoise is big enough for a main course. Needless to say, we took home lots of leftovers.
Second time in a month we have enjoyed a delicious meal!
I had a longer review alreadu to be copied and pasted but apparently Open Table won't allow that. So the short version is that I had 6 people show up here for a birthday dinner celebration, and everyone left disappointed in the meal that we all paid good money for. Zero seasonings, no flavor. The birthday was also never acknowledged. Won't ever return and certainly can't recommend if you like your food to have something behind it ( soul ).
This place was awesome! At no point did I feel like I was rushed and the food and service was amazing!
Enjoyed our experience here! We will be back soon!
Ordered the octopus appetizer, pasta, pork and the ahi special of the day. The octopus was seasoned perfectly but was slightly over cooked so parts of it was tougher than I would have wanted. The pasta was on the saltier side as well. The pork chop was good but also slightly overdone, but as that was ordered by another member of the party , I’m not sure if they ordered it that way. The seared special was good but the best part of the dish was the rice under the ahi.
Can't go wrong with this place. You'll certainly find something delicious on their menu. Our service was really good. We really like the tako tentacle and recommend it.
very sparse menu; good service. food mixed. ..........
Tyler provided us with excellent service. Very much appreciate the COVID precautions. The outdoor seating was very pleasant. The gnocchi was done perfectly. One of our favorite restaurants.
A Really Nice Restaurant. Really Good Food. Really Nice Atmosphere.
Got seated right away and loved the menu choices. Food took a little long to arrive but everything was tasty and enough for leftovers!
We started eating at 12th Avenue Grill when it first opened at the other location. We can't believe they've been open for 18 years already! The food, the ambiance, and the service, have been consistently awesome for each of those 18 years! We are so lucky to have such a great restaurant in our neighborhood. Keep doing what ever you are doing - you're the best!
Solid service and creative cuisine. Tables well spaced, good bang for the buck wine list.
I love 12th Ave Grill! It's really my favorite place for any occasion. The food is always outstanding, drinks are perfect, and atmosphere inside and out is so relaxing. The reason for the low rating is because we had to wait for our server to come around and request for more drinks, I actually stopped the bust boy to ask him to put in another order for drinks, and then get our tab. It was somewhat frustrating to always get up and look for our waiter.
We made our reservation on Open Table about 90 minutes beforehand. The check-in process was seamless, with us showing our vaccination cards on our phones. We shared a garden salad and the ribeye, our usual. The salad dressing was perfectly light and didn't overpower the delicate flavors of the local veggies. The thinly sliced carrots were especially sweet last night. The ribeye was rare, as ordered, with chermoula butter crumbled on top. What a nice touch. The dragonfruit mojito was refreshing and different. The waiter recommend the syrah/carignan blend which we had never heard of. It was full-bodied and smooth -- a perfect complement to the ribeye - I ordered a second glass ;)
From the hostess to the servers, we were given excellent service. Thanks to the hostess for accommodating us and getting us a table inside even on a busy night. We’ve eaten here three times in our month visiting family. Every meal has been delicious. 12th Avenue Grill is a gem for elevated comfort food. The burgers are top notch- the best we have had in Honolulu. The seafood specials we tried were all hits. I loved the seafood pasta with homemade tagliatelle, loaded with shrimp, scallops and mussels in a light tomato broth sauce. The menu and specials offer a wide variety of options. We could eat here every week if we lived in Honolulu!
We ate outside and there were only 3-4 other groups so it was quiet. Food was excellent.
Great food and service for a special event. Thanks!
Great food. Great ambience. No huge crowds from waikiki. Will be returning!
1st Time dining here and the food and service exceeded expectations in a good way. The fresh parpadelle was comfort food while the crispy prosciutto wrapped around moist and tasty black cod was an interestingly innovative and good experience as well. The crispy brussel sprout appetizer was also killer! Truly appreciated the outdoor seating too! Although the prices on bottles of wine were <$50 per bottle, the downside was the 4x markup on bottle of wine relative to wine store prices. Next time we'll look to request if they do reasonable corkage and we'll bring higher end bottles from home.
My partner and I are always looking for a spot that we know offers great food and provides a relaxing atmosphere. We dined outside this time around and the atmosphere was nearly as good as inside.
Amazing. Enough said
The food is as food as any five star restaurant I’ve been to and the cocktails are also excellent. We we’re in town for a week, and had dinner here for the first time on a Sunday and immediately made reservations to return on Thursday. For appetizers we had the roasted olives and Parmesan truffle fries, both were delicious. My son had the gnocchi with meatballs, I had the pasta with sausage and mushroom and both were fantastic. My husband has the cheeseburger and said it was good, but a little less cooked through than he was hoping. The old fashioned cocktails with 4 Roses Bourbon were delicious and the GNT was also very nice.
It’s kids approved ! We’re ecstatic that there is a great place for my family!
Restaurant feels super safe, even inside, but does not skimp on service or taste. Loved it!!
As always, amazing food, great service and wonderful employees. I hope the outdoor dining gets to stay. It’s such a nice option!
Always a solid meal here! Great service and good food. Only the n Oysters were out... Sad.
Zero vegan options on menu. Although, the bartender was very nice and accommodating he shouldn’t have had to deal with the restaurant not having options for vegans. It’s 2021, there should be at least a fried rice or gf/vegan option. My friend got the shrimp cocktail and had to peel the prawns herself and I guess that wasn’t fun. Idk. If you like French food and lots of meat and dairy I guess this could be good. No for vegans.
12th Avenue Grill is always a good place to go with a variety on the menu and a good staff. The Bartender was very knowledgeable about both food and beverages since he waited on us.
Food was delicious. Excellent service.
Always an amazing experience even during COVID times. Not super thrilled that people (non-patrons) are able to walk by your table outside without masks, but overall it feels safe. Maybe they could set the tables back from the sidewalk a bit more, but the al fresco experience is nice. Food is always tasty and rustic, generously portioned, and with freshly sourced ingredients.
My wife and I used to come to 12th ave all the time when we were dating and before kids. We ended up with a last minute night out thanks to Grandma babysitting and chose to revisit 12th ave. Awesome service, delicious courses (beet salad, ono with rice cake and bok choy, olives and yummy drinks too!). We loved how it seemed more spread out and quieter than previous visits. Same attention to detail and staff was attentive, knowledgable about the menu and options and genuinely happy to see us. Thanks for the aloha 12th ave and the good vibes on our anniversary.
The menu was varied, interesting, and a good combination of old favorites and specials. The tako was extraordinary (the arm we had came from Spain), as was the pear salad (tasty greens, with candied pear and nuts) and a not overwhelming dressing that enhanced the basic food flavors rather than replacing the. Both of had the duck; one of us concluding it was great and the other "good"; the vegetables and potatoes with it were excellent, and there was a large amount (which we finished completely. We even had desert, which is not always the case, and both enjoyed the wine. All-in-all, a memorable meal, especially for a parking lot tent :).
12th Ave Grill as always, great food and excellent service. Sat at the bar as usual, enjoyed the conversations and service.
Love love going back to 12th avenue grill. It’s nostalgia for me. Missed the old familiar cuisine. But overall the experience was lovely and finally another restaurant option for my kids. I love it!
