Surrounded by country roads and horse farms, 121 Restaurant is located in the small country town of North Salem, NY. The original restaurant of the group, first opened its doors on May 26th, 2000. Since then 121 has become every local’s favorite and has been serving the surrounding area ever since.
View Private Dining DetailsWe arrived early and had to sit in deafening bar, practically ignored, until dining room "opened". We were first guests in dining room; why was next group of 4 sat right next to us?
After that, everything was great. Wonderful special gimlet cocktail, fresh and refreshing salad, mushroom pizza. My husband had wonderful grilled octopus and their always great rigatoni.
The dining room fills quickly...a testament to the great food! Very good service.
Our experience at 121 was great. We went there this past Tuesday for our wedding anniversary.
1/2 price bottles of wine- which we were told right away (thank you. I feel like other restaurants sometimes withhold that info)
I asked if they could do 1/2 portions of the pasta (not on menu) and was told right away "Of course." The food was so good. Had the tuna tartare- fresh and light, rigatoni - amazing!
My husband had the lamb chops. I don't like lamb- and they were outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits which were beyond tasty.
And they make their own ice cream. enough said
We know we will not be disappointed at "121". Menu has a great variety of dishes, fabulous thin crusted pizza. Service is reliable and friendly! We will keep going back!
We went for dinner on Easter Sunday. When we arrived we were seated in the bar area; would have preferred being asked re: sitting in the dining room or bar. Bar area is smaller and noisier (cocktail shakers, etc) and it is where the entry to the restaurant is (doors opening, breezes). Other than that, the service was attentive; atmosphere very pleasant, and the menu has excellent range - burgers, pizza, salads, plenty of sea food starters and mains, and the bar offers a good selection of all libations. Tasty food, pleasant upbeat atmosphere; oldies tunes in the background. Versatile, well-managed and a good time. I’m goin’ back!
We had reservations and were first seated at the worst seats in the middle of everything. When I expressed interest in a better table we were moved but I felt like that should have been the first move. Our waiter was not friendly at all. Food was just okay. Delivered to table by several servers but with no personal touch at all. Seemed everyone working was mad. At least it was super expensive and when my husband requested a plain bowl of berries instead of with the sabayon we were charged extra. Not rushing back anytime soon....
Fabulous Easter Brunch
Delicious Easter brunch! Excellent service. We will be back.
Great restaurant week menu.....nice sized portions and great choices....but do miss their signature bok choy salad!
My wife and I went for Restaurant Week on a Thursday evening. Nice restaurant, great choices on menu, food was great. Main complaint is that we were rushed. If I wanted to spend one hour and ten minutes for three courses, I would have went to a diner. That is unacceptable for a decent restaurant and management should pay close attention to this. Courses came out back to back to back.
Pleasant, casual, nicely decorated country restaurant tucked away in Northern Westchester. Restaurant Week lunch; Goat Cheese Ravioli, Bok Choy Salad, Cubano sandwiches, Chocolate trifle deserts all very good, well and imaginatively prepared. Service is friendly and efficient. Wine list is very good, basic, and very well priced. Big value for money. Great spot for lunch.
Second dinner at this restaurant while visiting family in nearby Brewster. Similar to our first time we had an excellent meal and service. We will definitely not hesitate to return again!
Always a great meal.
It was was great. They had a kids menu which shows effort and goes a long way. Service was kind and food was tasty. Can’t wait to go back
When your meal begins with hot mini croissants in the bread basket you are off to a terrific start. My husband and I enjoyed "Date Night" at 121 on Valentine's Day weekend. French Onion Soup was what it should be, but rarely is at many restaurants, the soup broth was the star with fresh stock and a modest accompaniment of cheese and crouton. Highly enjoyable and not a salt bomb. Pizza was good, thin crust, fresh cheese. A pappardelle special featured homemade pasta, roasted root vegetables and pork shanks - delicious! We had the dessert special - Passionfruit Sabayon with Strawberries - melt in your mouth lusciousness. Cocktails are made well. Service was friendly and efficient. A great night out.
Host tried to seat us at a tiny table for 2 that was extremely uncomfortable. The restaurant was empty since it was only 6pm. We asked to be moved and got an attitude. We moved into the bar table area. Other than that, service was excellent and food was also.
Food was very good! Waitress had excellent recommendations for entree.
One of our favorite places! Always a great meal awesome specials and service!!
Had dinner with friends (6 top) great food and service. we sat at the window looking into the kitchen, pretty cool. Very accommodating with the food choices and had some great apps and dinner. The pizza rocked
Always enjoy dining at 121. Excellent food and very good service.
Good food, busy bar, glad we had a reservation for a table! The "psychic" was fun in a campy way. Would go back again.
Very disappointed. It was our anniversary and I made that clear by checking the box as well as stating in the comment area. Got there and waited a few min to be sat.
Hostess takes us to a basement. Kind of dark and cold. Only one or two other couples down there. Sort of an enclosed patio. Had to leave my coat on to eat. My husband says to her it’s very depressing down here and she says
We are busy! Won’t be seeing us again
We arrived early, pretty much had the place to ourselves. When folks did show up, it wasn't too noisy. Food was delicious, wait staff friendly, and we could hear ourselves talk.
Our dinner for three was perfect. Great bottle of wine, great specials for Christmas Eve. We had the filet special, lobster and mushroom risotto and a rigatoni. Amazing!! Dessert trifle was out of this world. We will be back soon
I'm sure this restaurant is lovely in every season, but the week before Christmas it was just perfect...pretty, with a roaring, aromatic fire. We had lovely service and the food was very good and very reasonably priced. I will be back!
Perfect lunch on a frigid cold day. Sat right by the fireplace. Food was perfect as was the service.
Great meal during the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. Kids were home from school and made for a memorable evening. Thank you.
Fantastic Thanksgiving dinner ! Portions were perfect, all the sides were excellent. Turkey was moist and flavorful. The mashed potatoes, stuffing, brussell sprouts and root vegetables were stand outs. Apple pie and pumpkin cheesecake desert was very good, but the donuts with dipping sauce and chocolate brownie was fantastic.
Service was great throughout the meal. Great teamwork by the staff.
We'll be back next year !!
Our first time on Thanksgiving because we usually cook. We have a child and the menu was perfect. The server was pleasant and the food was great.(Desserts were to die for)
I actually reviewed the menu after and the put everything on the table that was listed. We will be back next year!
My dining partner had ordered the chicken. The portion was generous. The problem was the chicken was raw. The waitress and management handled the situation beautifully. Without fanfare, they deducted the meal from the bill. I had ordered the scallops. They were alright. I cook scallops and felt that, not only is three scallops a bit light in the protein department, but also, mine are tastier.
Food and atmosphere was very enjoyable. The bartender needs to improve the drink selection. The Prosecco wasn’t cold, the strawberry margarita was bitter and the flirting came in an old fashioglass with ice and a cherry. Nothing about it tasted like a flirtini. I loved the appetizer selection and everything we had was good. The Brussels sprouts side dish, which sounded wonderful, was bland and tasteless.
Lovely set up. Food was delicious and very fresh. Great flavors. Willingness to substitute salad for fries.
Have never had a bad meal. Always spot on with mains and sides. Great appetizers also. Their bartender always makes a perfect margarita.
One of our favorites and does not ever disappoint. The new fall menu is fantastic!
Very lovely evening. Service was wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent. Will return with friends soon
The food was delicious. Only one thing though. We went for the Restaurant Week menu only to discover they do not offer it on a Sunday. Guess we didn't read the fine print. Otherwise, all was fine. We enjoyed the brunch and was not rushed. It was a relaxing, enjoyable meal.
I wasn't impressed about my lunch. I expected more.
When we made the reservation (over a week in advance) we requested to be seated upstairs. The request was ignored and we were told that the upstairs tables were "reserved". There were a few open. The downstairs section has slate floors and is excessively noisy with large parties. Although we received acceptable service, the overall experience was unpleasant. Our clam chowder was served with oyster crackers in the soup which were soggy and did nothing for the soup. 121 can do better with more careful management.
Oyster appetizer and cocktails were very good, but the entrees left much to be desired. We ordered the rib eye steak and the scallops. The scallops were cooked well but the risotto on which it came was underflavored.
We live in Redding, but 121 has been an easy & very dependable 'go to' Restaurant for us for almost a decade. Nice varied seasonal menu (s), casual setting, good cocktails, and great service.
Enjoyed it very much. Pumpkin ravioli and pear goat cheese salads were fantastic.
