We’ve been here a few times and prefer the brunch vibe.
Our waitress was completely inattentive.
We needed water, never checked.
She didn’t check on our meal.
Didn’t ask if we’d like dessert.
Food was ok.
My dish, the fish tacos, smelled very fishy.
They were covered with some powdered cheese.
Supposed to be grilled but hard to say.
My husband had the grilled chicken wrap which seemed ok.
I’d have to say I was a little let down by my meal.
Enjoyed a nice meal @121 again this weekend. Menu is well written, specials were on point and the flavors didn't disappoint. I've seen some mixed reviews on this site- my experiences have been positive.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, service and excellent food. Beautiful bar.
Very good food and horrendous service (almost to the point where it is insulting).
A real let down for Sunday brunch. Despite the pretty country inn setting and comfortable dining room, service was indifferent and the food was bland. With two of us drinking coffee, why did a server come by and remove the little bowl holding sweetener packets during our meal? And the coffee itself was truly awful. The best part of the meal was the root beer float for dessert. Not so the ricotta cheesecake, which fell into the same bland category as the rest of our meal. Disappointing, we won’t be back.
Great Thanksgiving dinner with leftovers to take home!
Great service and a good menu. Creative appetizer for the table - rather than just bread/butter they serve pretzel rolls with butter which is cool to see something different.
Have been to 121 several times and generally like it. This could have been an off night. We were seated downstairs for the first time and it lacks any kind of atmosphere or character. Food was fine, but had to send my wife's meal back as it was very under cooked (even for medium rare), leaving my food to grow cold as we waited and throwing the whole meal off. Wait staff was friendly and polite, but seemed to be suffering from under staffing. They were a bit frazzled and were literally running up and down the stairs, which did not lend itself to a relaxing dinner. Have not written the place off, but may wait a while before returning.
This is a favorite local restaurant. I was there two times within five days and the first night we had great, attentive service and the second night we had average to below average service. I had a special meal the first night which I liked enough to suggest they add it to the regular menu. The second night I had a veggie burger which was wonderful. Other diners with me said the pork and scallops were ok. The pork was overcooked and the scallops were pricey for three. The buttery pretzels served in lieu of bread are amazing! Nice wine list and casual, neighborhood-y atmosphere.
we ate at the bar which was nice and active. sadly the cauliflower appetizer was tasteless and the cavatelli entree was floating in grease. the tuna tacos were great. the 3 dishes were the only food. we had quite a few glasses of wine and beer and treated another guest to wine. no cocktails. the bill was $205 before tip. I will not return.
The food and the service were excellent. The lamb chops were generously sized and cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the fig appetizer and the steak Oscar special. It was our first visit and we are definitely coming back.
Every dish we had was excellent! We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, including the mussels appetizer, butternut squash soup, grilled salmon with bok choy and the hanger steak. Our reserved table wasn't ready when we arrived, we had about a 10 minute wait, but we were offered complimentary drinks while we waited. It was our first time there and we will definitely be returning.
We came for restaurant week and were told they weren’t offering it on Friday or Saturday. Our server was visably annoyed When we told her that the restaurant was listed as participating. We had been to the restaurant before the redo and found the atmosphere very blah.
The food was awesome. We had the pizza which was enough for two to share. The shrimp & grits was amazing. Love the pretzel bread with sweet butter. We will be back.
Went here during restaurant week and the food, service and ambience was excellent. Our entrees and sides were cooked to perfection and dessert was over the top!
The air conditioning was blowing on our table so we moved
Been to 121 many times, food is very good. The service has been getting worse the last few times going there. The food takes way too long to come out of the kitchen, even when the restaurant is empty.
Nice atmosphere but the food was not very good. We had a pizza and the crust was very dry. The kale salad was fine but my swordfish entry was over cooked and the vegetables with it were not good at all. It’s too bad because it is a pleasant atmosphere but not worthy of a return visit.
My husband and I had a lovely evening at 21 restaurant and bar. Although the bar area was noisy, the hostess sat us in a quiet corner. Our server was exceptional. He was attentive and unobtrusive. Our food was excellent. We enjoyed appetizers and entrées. The desert was also outstanding. We enjoyed the atmosphere. Overall it was a terrific night and we would definitely recommend it to others and we will be dining there regularly.
We look forward to dining at 121 and go regularly. Love the setting, friendly staff, and efforts to incorporate more vegetarian options (very important to us).
Food and server were amazing, 50 minute between ordering and receiving food during a slow lunch was disappointing but food ended up being worth the wait. Overall a great lunch, I would go back.
The flys were all over and the service was at a snails pace
It was a very busy evening. That said, we had three different servers approach our table to inquire about water and, again, these three each returned to ask about our drink orders. It was like Groundhog Day. Food and drinks were, as usual, fantastic. Service is just not on par.
Our party of 4 plus a “small half” had a wonderful time. We all loved our food selections: salmon, chicken Milanese, and steak were all delicious. But let’s not forget the “little half” who absolutely enjoyed her pizza. Well, some of us helped since the portion was quite large ! 😀
We also tried 2 deserts: peach/rhubarb pie (with peach ice cream) and lava chocolate cake (with cookies and cream ice cream). They were Devine!
We can’t wait to dine here again !
Food delicious and innovative. Beet salad, mac and cheese with jalapeño, pasta with sausage all delicious. Signature bread always great. A little difficult getting our check and getting out...could have been better service in that respect.
The food was generally very good. My kids thought the calamari was excellent. The buratta app was very good. The onion rings amazing. U fortunately, the cheeseburger was charred on the outside(ordered medium) and most people do not enjoy the taste of burned food. Bacon on the burger was undercooked. Chicken Milanese very good though not as oversized as suggested.
Waiter was lovely and very patient with 3 kids ordering.
We had to keep asking for water and finally suggested they just put the bottle on the table. Took some
Of the utensils when cleared the apps and didn’t replace them. Had to ask for salt and pepper.
Will go again- it was quite charming and yummy.
We always enjoy a casual meal at 121. Great thin crusted pizza!
Fresh seasonal menu in an inviting country side restaurant
Place has come back nice. Very loud inside though
Generally my wife and I always enjoy the meals and service. On this most recent occasion the service was good but we were placed on the lower level- only one other table had patrons - for over thirty minutes the feeling was that of separation from the rest of the restaurant, I think this level may be best used for parties!
We have been here before and enjoyed it. A bit of a disappointment this time around. The place has gotten tired. Needs a good cleaning. Walls were dirty, our table was sticky, table next to us had a glass top and we could see was also not clean. Just not well kept up.
We like that there are many rooms for different settings to eat in
We had Father’s Day brunch. The wait staff were polite and attentive. The food was presented well and delicious! I had the shrimp and grits my husband had the stuffed French toast and our son had the country breakfast.
I would recommend this menu for Mother’s Day!!
Had brunch out on the deck. Everyone liked what they ordered (all lunch, no breakfast) and the waiter was attentive but not overly so. The weather was super, so it was overall a very enjoyable experience.
Nice as usual. Interesting food Choices. Friendly service. Great renovation, very comfortable chairs.
Loved it! Yummy food, amazing service and casual dress. Kid friendly !! We will be back
Pleasant and delicious!
we love it here, the staff is so courteous, love the look indoors and out, food is always great
I don't understand their change of menu. The only steak on the menu is a hanger steak !! And salmon for fish. Adding a NY strip and another fish would help.
