10pin Bowling Lounge Ratings and Reviews
I personally have issues with bowling alleys with loud music and big video screens. That being said, this was probably the best of this type I've seen. $55 an hour is a bit steep, but that appears the be the going rate.
The best thing, it was a fun time for a couple of hours of non-serious bowling with some friends after work.
I brought 4 children (ages 7-10) to the location in chicago. The waitress informed us she was the only person serving food in the entire place- there were 20+lanes. The drinks were flat fountain sodas. The chicken fingers were flat large pounded fried? chicken. The food arrived when our 65 dollar per hour time was into 45mins. I had noted I was celebrating a birthday yet nothing was done for the twins.
The positive include the many big TVs, cheese pizza, & the kindness of the staff.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant or outing. I should note that we were with a large group of people from our workplace. During our visit, there was always one of us at the table. Only our server and a few of the bussers came by. No people from any other lanes stopped by our table. My wallet was swiped from the table while dishes were being cleared, and thousands of dollars was racked up in credit card charges that same night. I have tried to get ahold of management to look into this and check the cameras, but I have heard no reply. Only their staff came by our table. I cannot stress enough that this is a terrible place to go, with no security and staff that are almost certain to steal from customers. I will not be returning.
The ambience was wonderful and inviting. However, when we were playing, our bowling lane malfunctioned three or four times and we had to wait ten minutes for someone to fix it. Then, when we asked the staff about how many games we played and what it was based on, per game or per hour, they got me on the wrong one and refused to change it.
The bowling atmosphere was excellent. The drinks and service were great and spot on. The biggest downfall was the brunch buffet...not enough food was out and the build your own omelet line was always too long. I would definitely go back but pass on the brunch.
First time visit and it was a lot of fun.
Quite the atmosphere with the video screens, bowling pin & ball noises and the general buzz to the environment with people having a good time.
Pretty laid back service group but attentive when needed.
Would recommend to others.....hope to do it again.
I came here with my husband and a few friends for a date night. It was very clean and the staff was excellent (Our waitress was Amber she was fun and amazingly attentive). I enjoyed my chicken nachos as well...yummy. The nachos were reasonable priced for the amount of food recieved. I feel the price per hour is over the top though. Although I did love my experience, the $65 an hour price tag is why I will not be returning when I can go bowl elsewhere for a fraction of the price.
Pretty neat that you can reserve lanes for bowling thru Open Table. Although, the wording on Open Table when providing a credit card to secure reservation is misleading. You DO NOT have to reserve at the hourly rate (which was different than the hourly rate on the 10 pin site btw), but you can pay per game (which is cheaper when with a group of only four). Not only was this confirmed when I called 10 Pin reservations, but it was provided as one of the options by the guy who checked us in for the lanes.
Dining is not required, so I could not provide a review for food (although N/A is not an option, I chose 3 stars). But everything else, save for a couple lane malfunctions, was fine. Service was pretty on top of things for the most part and the assistance when the lane malfunctioned was pretty quick as well. Price per game is more expensive than regular bowling I suppose, but much cheaper than the place on Grand, so that is a plus for value. Video boards played at the end of the lanes, and the music videos were not intrusive, they were played at a pleasant volume to where conversation could still be had, but not quiet to where all you heard were other people bowling.
Only drawback is that the table set up for each of the lanes is pretty tight. I imagine being uncomfortably tight in the winter when more people may be coming here for indoor activities.
My friends and I visited 10pin on a Saturday night for dinner, drinks & bowling. I was expecting really overpriced drinks, food & bowling for it being a River North spot. I couldn't have been more wrong. All the shareable plates were under or around $10. The bowling was super affordable at about $7 per person per game. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I also came here for an office gathering and was such a great experience.
I feel like the music could have been better. When I was there I saw that there were MIXED CROWDS but the music only was geared towards one group of people. Music really was not good and that's one of the main things that matter going out places such as bowling/lounges.
I recently had my daughter's 3rd birthday party her. Yes 3rd. My daughter is very older for her age. Lol & she loves bowling. So her father & I decided to give her a bowling party. I was not able to go about using 10pin bowling party package because their choices wouldn't accommodate our needs. We did not have the minimum amount of childrens & I have have also needed to chose an adult package separately which would have been to much money for a 3yr old's Birthday party. So I went the reserve a line route. I reserved my lanes/lanes on line for the day and time I wanted. Upon arrival they had my information and had us set up to go. 1st problem, they was trying to give me two lanes, I only needed one. I informed them that even though I had 10 guess coming everyone was not bowling and there was no option on line to choose the number of lanes needed. They did let me have just one lane. 👍 2nd The lanes the had us at was in the middle of two groups. 👎3rd They quickly came and moved us to the next table to give us a little more room. 👍5th The table are entirely to small. They are circle tables and they are not good for even small groups. I believe this is because there maybe to many tables in the walk area or the design is not that great. After two hours of being there 10pin started getting crowded. You would bump into waitress and even other people. There is no where to put coats, bags, shoes nothing. I really enjoyed myself and my guess and daughter had a great time but I would not recommend this place for a group function. Now they do have two areas that are semi private for groups but the prices is way to expensive. Overall I would go back for date night or with two maybe three friends but not a large group, and in the summer. That way don't have to worry about my things. Lol.
Immediately upon entering, we were greeted warmly. Excellent service with the shoes. We were almost immediately met by our server. Drinks were ordered quickly and refreshed in a timely fashion. Food was delivered fairly quickly but the trio of burgers came unseasoned and flavorless. Also, the calamari was labeled as "crispy" and with aioli dipping sauce, it was mushy and with marinara. The server was notified of the of the calamari. The calamari returned exactly the same, mushy. It was uneaten and the server was notified. The calamari was still on the bill and no remarks by server. The bowling was fun but the reset had a few glitches. We still had fun.
We were the only people there at 1:00 on a Saturday! - then came about 30 women for a baby shower. The high chair seating on small rounded tables near the bar could be improved. Sufficient size for 4 people with beers, but too small for 4 people with food plates. Good, imaginative variants of American standard fare. Great for kids (videos, music, and of course, the bowling). A very fun place.
We were very disappointed that no one explained to us that our reservation was for two hours of bowling for $110.00! When we checked in, no one said a word about how the pricing works. The Open Table site does mention it but we did not catch that and it was not mentioned in the confirmation email. When we complained, the manager Tony corrected the bill and threw it at me and sprinted away. It was an honest mistake but I think they have lost us as a return customer which is too bad because it is a fun place with good food.
