Always great food, service and a nice pour!!
First time at this downtown Elmhurst restaurant. Located just south of the train station. Came at 5:30 and at that time conversation friendly. Varied menu, we had tilapia which was excellent. Generous servings. Beet salad very good. Most tables had good view of trains going by on the Union Pacific west line. Highly recommend.
Our waiter was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was excellent!
Crazy busy night, superb service Nicolette! Was our first time, everything explained clearly, steaks were good, small portions potatoes, salad delicious.
Overbooked for Valentine’s Day waited 45 minutes to be seated, long wait for food. Ran out of items...... they did buy us a round of cocktails as well as a free appetizer.... food was good, but by the time we received our food it was after 10pm and didn’t really feel like eating that late.
We will try them again.
Evidently they overbooked tables for Valentines Day. We were not upset about an extended wait after our reservation time but a female bartender with red sweater was extremely rude to us but other patrons. We had 8 pm reservations and were seated 35 min after arriving. We were not upset about that. We were served our entree’s at 10:08. It took awhile to have waiter take our order. We were comped 2 drinks. The restaurant staff knew things were wrong. The chef came to our table. But what really set me off was the bartender. She was rude and it was not our fault. We tipped appropriately after our dinner, over 15%. We feel it was management’s fault. We had been there before but will not return.
We dined here for Valentine’s Day dinner and the service was honestly BAD. The restaurant overbooked itself and was running far behind for those of us with reservations. Ours was at 7:30 PM. People were packed in the bar area waiting. The food was great, but we felt like the forgotten table. The restaurant was also very loud. I was surprised because every other time I’ve dined here, my experience has been great. I would just avoid this establishment for future Valentine’s Day dinners.
It was Valentines Day so probably a larger crowd than normal. We had a reservation set for 7:00 and was told to wait another 20 minutes which we did and not longer. We tried to get a drink at the bar and the bartenders were too busy to notice us so we just waited until we were seated. Food was good and staff was attentive however we there for 3 hours total and were tired by the time we left. Overall they handled the large crowd fairly well.
The owner is really a great person EVEN WHEN REALLY BUSY HES REALLY A KOOL PERSON THE WAITRESS WAS AMAZING SHE TOP NOTCH SHE CARES THATS WHAT MAKES HER WHAT SHE ALL ABOUT. THE FOOD THE RIBS WERE TASTY AND JUST LIKE I LIKE IT MY WIFE FOOD PORK CHOP WAS THE BEST SHE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME WE BEEN THERE MANY TIMES A NEVER AND NEVER HAD A BAD TIME 5 STARS Rick & Betty Ann Pisciotto
Overall good first time experience. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time... but if you’re not a “regular” or know the person who’s in charge of seating people you will have to wait a little longer even with a reservation. While they get seated first and taken care of.
Great quality food at affordable prices. The atmosphere was kid friendly and variety of age ranges. This place is a great hidden gem in downtown Elmhurst.
We went for valentines dinner. I was disappointed that they did not have the pre-fix menu as they have in the past. The overall bill was 200+ for 2 people and that seems over the top even for Elmhurst.
Amazing, if I had to give a criticism it would be music choice. Dance music not a good choice for dinner. Overall great evening.
Bone in ribeye is very fatty, and bake clams are very fishy. Other then that, the rest of the food was great.
Busy Sat night, extremely loud for a white table cloth place. Very hard time having a conversation. Server was excellent or would have rated lower. Prime rib was tougher than the expected for the price. Another person in my group ordered the same and came out much better even though we ordered it cooked the same. Will never take a date there I want to converse with on a busy night. Would consider trying during the week.
Great service, good drinks, excellent food. Definitely will return.
Never a bad meal
Great food! Great service! Always a great experience!
It's extremely loud in there, had to talk very loudly to the people at my table.
Ordered Friday fish fry which was disappointing.
We were there on New Years Eve. They had a special holiday menu so it was a bit disappointing not to be able to try some of their regular dishes but it was expected for the holiday. The food was very good, the service was excellent. We’ll try it again on a non holiday.
We love the 25 percent off discount on Sundays! We have been here many times to have dinner at the bar. The bartendars are all great! The food is very good. We love the coconut shrimp, the chicken and veal parmesan, and the steaks.
It was our first time at 100 South. Wow we’re we pleasantly surprised. The steaks were amazing, cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable and the staff is very warm and inviting. Best restaurant in Elmhurst.
Great location, Very quiet, excellent service and outstanding food.
Wonderful waiter, very accommodating. Loved the atmosphere. The conversations around us made it more relaxing.
We go there about once every 2 months, food always top notch, as are all the servers.
I was hoping for more. Service was slow (also super busy with holiday stuff so I’ll let that slide and out server was very nice). Food was just ok. I can make a better steak. Tilapia was good but also just average. Mac n cheese was terrible. Wedge was good but half the size of the table next to us. I wouldn’t say I’d never go again because they have something for everyone, but I won’t be rushing back.
Neighborhood Christmas Dinner
100 south is excellent well run restaurant. It's in heart of Elmhurst and can compete nicely with any other restaurant downtown Chicago and beyond great service, friendly staff and great prices, nice decor i would reccomend this place for a nice night out or family event. The decor is from 40, 50s nicely done. 🌝
Good food. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great place for a celebration.
We were greeted by their friendly staff and were seated without any delay. Out server was very friendly and helpful with the menu selection, although it would have been better if he told us the market price of the entree we ordered without us asking. If there’ one thing I would like for them to improve, I would say our food could have come out a little sooner. We waited a while for our entrees to be served. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Usually good. Sadly had a $50 steak that was cooked med well instead of medium. Manager comped a dessert.
Great for excellent drink. Service was a tiny unknowing off menu. We were luck to Hassmer booth in back room otherwise up front was very noisy.
100% for 100 South
The service was okay, but the steak was extremely fatty. We were highly disappointed, especially because of the prices. The salmon was much better than the steak. I have been coming here for a number of years and unfortunately it seems the quality has gone down hill.
Great food great price and great service ales a great experience every time I go there and every one I have taken there has always had a wonderful time
What a great local place. We didn't even have steak! We had blackened chicken and a pretzel burger, and both were delicious! Everyone seemed to know everyone else there, but we didn't feel like we were strangers - a very warm, cozy, happy place. Great food, great service, great value - we will be back!
We were told this was a restaurant with stellar food. For the six of us, ordering completely different things we were very underwhelmed. The Apricot Chutney was NOT a chutney at all, very little apricot flavor. The ribs had more sauce than meat! The side salad was really disappointing as the pieces of lettuce were yellowish/light brown at the ends. Discouraging at the price we paid.
