10 Degrees South is the only restaurant of it's kind in the USA, specializing in South African cuisine. South African cuisine is a fusion of French, Portuguese, Dutch, German & Malaysian cuisines with strong Mediterranean influences. The restaurant was founded in 1998 in a small bungalow in Buckhead Atlanta. Six years later, inspiration was taken from the sophisticated & modern hotels of Cape Town to transform 10 Degrees South. 10 Degrees South offers the passion for life which means the love of friends, family, food & drink!

The restaurant was recommended to us by several different friends. We had been to sister restaurants Cape Dutch and Yebo and like them both, and I'm glad we finally went to this one. The food was excellent and we had great service. I think it is my favorite! We will be back again.

We have traveled to SA and wanted our palates awakened by delicious flavors. We had the bobotie spring rolls and sosotie small plates and they were bold and flavorful. Boerewors entree and Cape Kingklip were both excellent choices for main dishes. We can't forget the Malva Pudding. It wasn't SA but it was still great. Service was excellent and we will be back.

I dined here with my partner for Valentine's Day date. There was a Valentine's Day prix fixe menu for $70/person. Dinner included a salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Very extensive and exciting wine menu including selections from South Africa. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional.

I arrived before my other guest and was asked to sit at the bar where there were no seats and smelled like cigarette smoke. When I asked to sit at the table until she came, I was told no-the table wasn’t ready. My guest walked in and the hostess pointed to the ready table in front of me.
When we were seated, we were seated in the middle dining room between the front and the bar and outdoor covered patio.
The room we were in smelled like disgusting cigarettes the entire meal.

Ten Degrees is always good. However, over the fifteen years we’ve been going the prices have sky rocketed for the same food and amount of it. They have pretty much priced themselves out of “a good value for a night out”.

Had an old friend in town and we went here for dinner. It was amazing. I recommend it heavily. The waitstaff were great. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the cuisine. Try everything. Eat it all. You won’t regret it. Be prepared for the bill though.

I was pleasantly surprised by the great ambiance and atmosphere at 10 Degrees South. Laid back, warm and The food had unique but great flavors. Caution- some of the dishes for your main course maybe very sweet! I suggest the Peri Peri chicken- it was really flavorful and satisfying!

We have eaten at 10 degrees S before. There was no let down in this experience from prior experiences. I forgot our Server's name, but he also added positively to a great experience for our party of 6. The food was fantastic, the cocktails were good, the service was great. Not much to complain about

This is the first place I took my wife on a date and it is so good to back where we started. The atmosphere is incredible and the staff are super friendly. Very clean environment.

This is one of our go to restaurants but they had the lounge and bar blocked for a private party so we could not have a drink. The restaurant was also freezing forcing people to move tables all night long.

This was our first time to this restaurant and we found out about it over a year ago on "Atlanta Eats." We are so glad we finally made it, because the food was delicious and the service excellent. We can't wait to come back!

The staff were very attentive and the food was amazing! We had the lobster spring rolls, Caesar salad, safari salad, cape kingklip and the catch of the day. We will definitely be back!!!

I have been to 10°south on several occasions and have always enjoyed it. My boyfriend flew up from Orlando and we decided to go for NY eve. Restaurant was freezing cold and we were told we just had to wait for more people to come to warm the room so I ate with my coat on the entire meal. Our entrees came and my boyfriend's 18 oz ribeye and all of his side's were cold. My dish, the curry chicken was also dry and overcooked. He sent the steak back and the chef recooked the same food we sent back, bites taken out and all which should never happen at a time dining restaraunt. Waiter was annoyed that we sent it back and avoided our table after that. May i mention the table behind us also sent their steak back for being cold. I left to go to the restroom and the bus boy cleared my plate, almost still completely full of food as I was going to get a box and take it home because we were so over the lousy service and attitude. When I told the waiter what happened he did replace my meal, but again with annoyance. $300 later, we won't be back. Very sad as owner is a nice guy. Wish I would have been able to speak with him that night.

The ambiance was beautiful and the food was pretty good. Not extraordinary but good but our server(forgot her name) was VERY unenthusiastic and took forever to get our drinks then brought some and not the others. She was kind of aloof about it too not offering apologies just said they’ll be right out. Overall her manner was lackluster and dimmed the overall mood of our occasion

We had excellent service on a Monday night with a small crowd in the restaurant. The food was fabulous, creative, authentic, and different - very tasty, lots of wonderful flavors. This is a great place for "foodies" and people who like to try different cuisines. Great wine list and cocktail list too! loved the atmosphere. We will be back!

Overall the food and restaurant was excellent. We did however feel rushed to order and had to ask our waitress to return several times because we were not ready . The restaurant was not crowded so we were surprised at her rush to get our order and bring out our food.

Cocktail part of the meal was off base. I asked for an after dinner drink menu and was given a wine list. My date wanted a tanguray gin martini and they didn’t carry it so he asked for Bombay and they didn’t carry it. After dinner I asked for a tawny port and the waitress never had heard of it and what she returned with was not port at all. It was super sweet and apricot colored. We had nice but slow service . The calamari app was great! I didn’t care for the bananas sliced on top of my lamb curry but it was ok.

Bartender (we sat in the bar area) was more suited for TGI Fridays than 10 Degrees. He single handedly ruined the business dinner with my 3 business associates with his inattentive, sloppy and generally lame service. I'd bragged about 10° to them and then took them as they were intrigued in what an African Restaurant might be like. They left with "the food was great, but service was so bad I'd never go back" and if I wasn't from Africa, I'd do the same. Get back to your roots of good service matching your good food!
