Amazing food, great service despite being extremely busy. At the end of the night we didn’t mind paying whatever it cost for great food, service and ambiance. Valet parking was also a plus!
Great food, atmosphere, and service! Wonderful experience
Barking “we don’t split checks here” is poor service. Which is probably why you work at an empty bar. If I’m coming to try out your restaurant and bring you business, you’ll split the check if I tell you to. Get a life.
Love the flavours of this Restaurants. The food is good so as Ambience and service
The restaurant was under staffed, they were out of things we ordered, we waited to be seated 45 mins past our reservation. Overall very disappointed
I really hate to do this but our experience on Feb 2nd was terrible. We had reservations for a group of six at 8:30 and got seated at 9:30. I realize it was Super Bowl weekend but there were multiple 6-10 person tables open. Once we sat down, we didn't see wait staff for about 15 minutes. No water, no silverware etc...Once we ordered our food about 9:45, we waited an HOUR for it to arrive. I imagined the kitchen may be slammed but when looking around, again noticed multiple empty tables.
Food: My girlfriend and I shared two entres. I had FILET "AU POIVRE" and she ordered the Chicken Curry. My filet quality was sub par. Her chicken was very overdone/dry. Not what I expect from 10 Degrees South. Honestly, the wait was more of an issue because we were SO hungry, we would have eaten almost anything.
Super Bowl weekend - so expected it to be crowded but they were not staffed to support crowd. Extremely slow bar service and table service. Food was good but not worth the $$. First dining experience for 2 of the 3 couples. Unfortunately, they will probably never go back. Ruined the mood of the night.
Wow disappointing! This is our favorite restaurant in Atlanta. We came 3 hours to celebrate our anniversary. Had great cocktail and complimentary champagne with excellent bobotie spring rolls. Those are the highlights.
My wife is South African and was excited to eat her favorite fish: kingklip. She said instead of being soft and flaky it was hard and chewy requiring a knife. We told the waitress who ask if she wanted something different; my wife just ask for a new piece of Kingklip. 30 minutes later the new piece was more rubbery than earlier hence not eaten. There was no apology from waitress, manager, or cook. To be fair were not charged for the fish.
It was a bust in every way. Disappointing! No plans to return to our family’s favorite place to celebrate special days!
Very slow service
My experience was HORRIBLE!!!!!! It was my first time here. I will NEVER go back! The food was great but my service was HORRIBLE!!!
The food was not very good would not recommend this restaurant
Food was great but set up of restaurant is awkward. Dining room is right when you walk in the front door and very small. The headlights from incoming traffic were shining directly in my face the entire dinner, tables are very close together, and I was very cold throughout our dinner as the front door was in the dining room and kept opening and closing.
Outdoor dining area is excellent!
The food was served cold. And the vegetables were over cooked
Good was amazing as usual and the atmosphere was superb.
Fantastic food. Highly recommend the Bobotie Spring Rolls and, oddly enough, the garlic roll. We ordered the Safari platter and it's enough food for 3-4 people. All the food was delicious and there was a great wine selection. A little pricey but ideal for a special occasion.
This was our first visit to this restaurant.
Service was perfect! Friendly, but not overly. Attentive, but not overly.
Food was so very tasty! I had the best chicken curry! I still keep thinking about it.
Great location, easy in and out. Friendly people and great food!
Food was authentic and tasted like I never left South Africa! However, if it wasn't for the food I would have had no idea that this was a South African restaurant. Would have loved to see some South African decor and hear some Afrikaans (or a thick accent). Overall, good experience! Would recommend serving Amarula and Cream Soda!
The food was good but a few items we’re a little under temperature. The table we sat at was terrible and located right on a wall. They could have offered something better.
The food and service was awesome! Definitely going back!
10 Degrees South was simply amazing. The ostrich medallions were better than what I ate in South Africa back in September! The selection of Pinotage was also a nice add to keep the true S. African theme.
Great food and service and the menu was different than the usual fare- quite interesting and appealing. Food was delicious and not heavy handed.
It had been a 18 months since my last visit and I don't know why. We love this place. Menu is varied - and different with its South African flare. Great friendly staff. Bar is great. Every dish is very well prepared. We had the Sea Bass and Chicken Curry entrees. I will be back much sooner next time!
Our server was excellent. Made some great recommendations for first time visitors. Food was very good, not quite 5 star but 4+. Good for a special occasion. Not sure it would be a regular visit though... Nothing wrong just lots of other options in town. Drinks were very good as well.
This is my favorite place to go to for an intimate of drinking, eating and laughing with my friends. Bartender Mia is the best, great service and knowledge. And of course amazing delicious food
This place was good, however in winter time you may be seated in the foyer which is located near the door so be prepared for periods of cold air blowing on you when the door opens. Would recommend not seating in that area if you can avoid.
Been ther multiple times before and was outstanding. This time they were very busy and short staffed. Waited 45 minutes past reservation time (we arrived right on time) to get a table. One bartender took over 20 minutes to get two glasses of wine because the bar and the waiters had so many orders in. Waited at table 20 minutes to get an order in, and a long time for the food. Food was excellent (and almost worth the wait). Great place and food. I hope this experience was an anomily or they will go out of business with such poor service.
We waited over an hour to get our food and we only got it then because I called the manager over. The place was short staffed all around which is why we waited so long. There was one bartender for the entire restaurant on a Saturday night. The manager I spoke to was also the only hostess on duty. Our server had 8 tables, including two parties of six. It's a completely mismanaged establishment and for the prices you pay you would think they could afford to staff appropriately.
I really enjoyed my date!!! The food and ambience was amazing!!! I love the heated patio and decor. My date had the peri peri chicken which was super yummy , the sauce on the butternut ravioli was full of great taste, absolutely love this place!!!!
Food was great but service was a little slow.
Loved the ambience, service and food.
Tried to seat us right by the front door at a 2 top- we asked to be re-seated and sat at a 4 top in the private room with fireplace and 6 tables. Server Sean was outstanding! We started with a drink in the bar- good bartender- but could have used another one because they were a little busy.
We got the platter of meats- wow! We had leftovers for a second meal! It was outstanding! We will be back and bring friends
Great server .
The platter proclaimed to feed 4 people comes with only 3 lamp chops. The same lamb chops were barely cooked, most restuarants asked customers how they prefer their meats cooked, interestingly 10 Degree South does it differently, i.e assuming everyone prefer to eat barely cooked meat.
Four of us, all of whom had visited South Africa at least once, decided to try 10 degrees South to relive our time in SA. We were really disappointed. The restaurant is very nicely appointed and we were one of two tables which might have been a function of the fact that it was Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend. Because of the romaine lettuce concerns, there was NO salad. Not even a substitute for the romaine lettuce. The food was OK but there were several entrees that were not available. We each chose a different entree and traded. The food was good -- not terrific. We did have a nice bottle of Pinotage but even that was the only one of a few Pinotages that was available. Our server, Ian, was delightful and attentive but not overly so. The best part of the dinner was the dessert.
All in all, it was a very strange experience and we wondered if the restaurant was planning to close for good.
The food was amazing! The service could have been better. The restaurant wasn't busy at all (many empty tables) and we still had to wait to be seated since 1 out of the 4 in my party hadn't arrived at our scheduled reservation time. In my birthday outfit, it would have been nice to have been accommodated to be comfortable. The hostess upon our initial encounter wasn't too friendly...seemingly cold disposition. And, our main waiter was very sweet. However, he accidentally served us another party's meal. Overall, we had a great time for my birthday. When I asked the hostess (who occasionally came to our table) if they could write "happy birthday" with chocolate syrup on the plate of the desert I ordered, she quickly responded "no" in a curt manner. Maybe my expectations were just too high...
We had to wait 15 minutes for a table even though they were less than half occupied. The fish and the meat were overcooked but tasty.
Amazing service and food as always
