1 North Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
From the time we walked in until the time we left, it was a wonderful experience. When we entered, we were greeted with a smile. Being we were early for our reservation we were offered to go to the bar or our table. The waiter arrived promptly and took our drink order and brought some excellent rolls and butter. We had time to chat with our friends and then he took our food order. Everything came in a timely manner. I had fried oysters which were excellent. Next came the 10 ounce Fillet Mignon which was cooked perfectly and was really good. All entrees come with a potato and vegetable which were also very good. Even though we were full at this point, we ordered one dessert for four people. This too was very good. Bottom line, it was our first time at this restaurant, but we will certainly return. We also told many of our friends that this is an excellent restaurant and well worth the trip.
We had a great experience! The food was very good. The staff was very accommodating since we did not have a lot of time due to having a movie to see. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The music they had in the restaurant was great too! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
1 North is consistently the best steakhouse on the East End. We ate here last for Mother's Day with adult kids and sat at a table; but my husband and I come here almost weekly and sit at the bar because it is cozy, fast and the open kitchen faces the bar. It's somehow warmer than the rest of the restaurant. If the restaurant is full--as it was on Mother's Day--it is quite noisy, but has a nice feeling. If the restaurant isn't crowded--as can happen out here in the off months--the black tablecloths and dark carpeting seem a little cold. However, no matter where you sit, the service is outstanding and the food never disappoints. We have a hard time staying away from the same dishes--appetizers of bacon wrapped scallops on a corn salad with a spicy glaze over all--and the absolutely perfectly done every time prime filet of beef with your choice of dry rub, marinated, au poivre, and choice of bernaise and two other sauces. My husband has strayed and had the rack of lamb and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The veggie side dishes are always fresh! One of our daughters ordered the grilled romaine salad, and I will say that this was the first, FIRST, time we didn't think it was great. Way too much lettuce, way too much heavy dressing, way too much cheese, and in general, just way too much. Tone it down the way it used to be. An appetizer shouldn't be the size of an entree +, a LARGE entree. Oh, and one more thing that you HAVE to try--the Lobster Mac 'n cheese! You need to share it (unless that is your entire meal!), or wrap the rest to take home. Good value all around! We love 1 North!
We absolutely LOVE 1 North. It's a favorite of ours when we have a special occasion or just a date night. It was a little crazy since it was Mothers Day. A few tables were a bit rowdy, but the staff handled it so well. And the food, as always, was absolute perfection! Thank you for a wonderful Mothers Day!
We had come here for the first time back in March and absolutely loved everything about the place. When we walked in 2 months later, as we like to sit at the bar, not only did the bartender Justin recognize us, he also remembered what we drank!! Very impressive ! This time it was for a Birthday dinner and we chose to go off the Price Fixe Menu. The braised duck sliders were delicious, as was the Burrata. The entrees of pork and the strip steak were cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the Tiramisu for dessert was out of this world.
I can not say enough of how much we enjoy 1 North Steakhouse!
We went to 1North specially to have their famous burgers. We had a 7:30 pm reservation. Upon ordering 2 burgers, we were told they had run out of burgers for the night. It seems odd that a steak restaurant, would run out of this item by 7:30pm on a Saturday night.
Appetizers were very good. The young man singing was AMAZING! Wait staff was a bit unprofessional at times. Too much joking around. Our steak order was mixed up and wrong. Now while the waiter offered to make 2 new steaks we passed on it because we didn't want to wait even longer to eat. The steaks were nothing special at all. We both had the porterhouse. Both cooked wrong. But also just not very good cuts. Subpar meat. Wouldn't go back.
Been here before had 7 pm reservation was little early but they we able to seat us right away Ordered drink. Then appetizer and dinner. I wanted to order steak special and less told they were sold out Chef only orders so many. It was 7 pm on a Saturday wasn't that busy yet So I order the veal chop medium well. Appetizer was great surf and turf slider. My husband had salad. I get my. Veal chop it was very bloody and not very flavorful. I couldn't eat it. I don't like to complain so I bright it home. Really was dissapointed in the whole experience
A great find. Worth driving across the County for bi-generational birthdays and sampling a classy place at Restaurant Week prices. Excellent service, food, drinks; just hard to have four-top conversation due to hard surfaces of windows, blinds, wall and very close seating. Main gripe is that the few secs I was in the ladies' they brought out dessert with candles and song and when I came out it was all over. Please check if all parties present before lighting the candles and joyously rushing out to sing.
Upon arrival we checked in with the hostess and proceeded to the bar for a quick drink. Bar service was quick and enjoyed the window seating. We were called to our table and was told the waitress would be with us shortly. When the waitress finally came to the table she asked if we were good on drinks to which we ordered another 2 beers and a water. Came back with the beers but had to wait another 5 or so minutes for a cup of water. In short, the waitress was rather inattentive/forgetful to us and spoke extremely low. The apps were good but the "prime" rib eye did not come close to expectations. It was tough and dry although was cooked to my liking of medium-rare. Really had better expectations.
Went for dinner. Sat at the bar where Justin took care of us. Everything was outstanding. The surf and turf sliders were out of this world. Our steaks, (we chose the Hanger steak and a Ribeye), were seasoned perfectly and beyond delicious. The desserts were a great way to top of one of the most delicious meals I've had in a while. Will definitely be going back!
