Disappointed with the food here. We were very much looking forward to it because it had such high ratings on open table and Google, but everything was just okay. The chicken with sauce/eggplant and cheese was overcooked and bland. The pastas were pretty good - the pink sauce, lamb bolognese and gnocchi pesto all were good but nothing remarkable. The bruschetta was very garlic and oniony and served on bread that wasn’t toasty enough. The bread basket was also underwhelming. The carpaccio salad was good but we’ve had much better other places. The service was fine but not overly warm. Generous pouring of wine! In a city with so so many options for amazing food, we definitely wish we would have tried somewhere else instead.

We had a lovely meal at Nocello. Service was above and beyond. My daughter's gnocchi with pesto was better than any we have had in Liguria, where pesto was born. But the gentleman who was clearing our table noticed that I had left all of the sausage behind from my own pasta dish. He asked whether there was any problem and I told him that the dish was delicious, but the sausage was a bit too spicy for me. I acknowledged that it wasn't spicy per se; just a bit too spicy for me. Next thing we knew, the cost of my whole entrée had been comped. I protested! "But it was delicious!" Nope--they insisted on comping us. That was some seriously good customer service. That and the quality of the food will ensure that we return.

Always a fun meal, good food, friendly staff, interesting specials. When we are in NYC we almost always make it to Nocello.

You can tell this is not a chain, but that the owner is on site and supervising whaat's going on. Well prepared food with fresh ingredients and herbs; the old wooden floors were highly polished and immaculate; comfortable chairs and different rooms and areas to dine in. Reasonable prices for the neighborhood.

Had a great dinner ordered 2 app's Eggplant with feta and tomato and grilled calamari both very good. Bronzino for the main. Prices are good and will was reasonable. Would go back

There is a warm and welcoming attitude at Nocello. Constantin, the owner, is a great host. The menu always features specials that are mouthwatering. The wine list is reasonably priced and food friendly.

The veal dish was outstanding! The homemade tiramisu was delicious. The wait staff was extremely attentive. However, the table cloth was soiled. We will most likely return .
