I have been there before, great food and location. Great spot off the beaten path. Service was “off” which we have not had before. Busy but staff were so cold and unhelpful that it took away from my experience here. I will go again but I hope the staff either get better or put there moods away to serve. I hope the staffing improves but keep serving great food.

The Italian offerings and service are excellent, as is the ambiance. Although prices are up everywhere, we found Nocello to be surprisingly expensive. Dinner for two well over $200, with one drink for each of us.

When we walked in we thought this place had potential as one of those nice little Italian places. Regrettably , while the food was fine , the service was really poor. We frankly felt forgotten about several times. The food was slow to come, we had to ask for water several times and they were slow to clear dishes. Another case in point, we order cappuccinos and a cannoli for dessert. The waiter delivered the coffee but we had to track him down to get the cannoli. There seemed to be some confusion as to which server had our table. In fact, the two tables next to us totally turned over before we left. It's too bad as I thought the place showed promise.

Food was very good, and the service was mixed depending on the waiter. Some were excellent while another was mediocre. The wine list was reasonably priced but limited. The drinks were generous. The desserts were excellent. The ambience was a bit dark, but friendly. We will try it again and hope for more consistent service.

We loved Novello. They accommodated us when we were two hours early for our reservation. The service was impeccable, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was very delicious. We both had veal in a citrus sauce- excellent. They did not rush us. The restaurant was small and intimate, no reason to raise voices.

I want to love this place. The ambience is not posh. It is cozy, welcoming, neighborhoody, every day go to which I like. The wait staff, and everyone associated with the restaurant are competent and fun and welcoming. The food is average Italian food. You might get anywhere in America. Unfortunately, nothing special and not why you come to New York City.

We have been coming to Nocello for 15 years & still like it, but the quality is not quite as good as it used to be. For example, the bread was better and served warm, now it is cold. Butter used to be served in a small ramekin, now you have to ask for it & they bring 2 small wrapped pats. However, we will return because it is a cozy, intimate spot in the neighborhood & the food is excellent, except for the bread!

Two of us were on a concert deadline. This restaurant never needs to be prompted. Their service is very fast yet relaxed. it is unusually quiet for a Midtown restaurant with a wonderful ambiance. It is dark, but they feature backlit individual menus. We had mussels as an appetizer, a mushroom ravioli special and tartufo for dessert. But we have dined here many times, there is no bad dish here. Among Midtown restaurants, Nocello's prices are mostly moderate with entrees in the $20s and a few in the low $30s. Only a special here and there is over $40. A must dine at location!

We had theater tickets and the servers certainly honored the need to be on our way. The Oysters Rockefeller were the appetizer special and they were delicious. Six nice sized oysters and very tasty. Momma’s Shrimp Scampi did not disappoint! It was just like my mother used to make - jumbo shrimp in a buttery garlic sauce with a hint of lemon - delicious! My husband had veal Marsala and he loved it. Two delicious cappuccino’s wrapped up the evening. We would have returned for dessert after the theater but, sadly, they were closed. We’ll be back. This was not our first time to Nocello’s and the tiramisu should not be missed.
