ZuppaFresca is open Lunch and Dinner Tuesday through Friday and Brunch and Dinner- Saturday and Sunday. We have put together a menu that incorporates Italian and Sicilian style sandwiches and soups with some Homestyle breakfast for Brunch and Sicilian dishes for Dinner.

This is a great place for a contompory setting with classic dishes from Italy. I had the Italian Wedding Soup w/ meatball and cheese sandwich and beer battered onion rings for lunch. The sandwich is made for dipping in your soup. So, I order a tomato based chowder for dipping my sandwich!

So I like going to new restaurants and this one was new and had okay reviews upon a quick google search. I would not go here to eat unless you have no other options.
My Main Problems:
Food: The food was cold, uninspired, and lacked seasoning. Also, The menu is very small but they didn't have 5 things we ordered at different pts in the meal (among them Parmesan cheese and one of their 2 desserts)
Service: I should have known that the service wasn't likely to be good since my guest and I stood and waited for a hostess for nearly 10 mins before we were greeted. Our server was completely uninformed (obviously since we actually ordered and waited for 5 things that they didn't have and borderline rude - interrupted my guest w/o an excus

The food was not bad but not great. What Italian Restaurant charges extra for bread ($1 for 2 slices of dry bread - no butter, no oil)? Chicken Marsala was not served with a side of pasta - we had to pay $5 for a side of pasta that was topped with bruschetta instead of sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. High prices, fair service and not very Italian.

I was in Washington, DC for the day and was looking for a restaurant close to the Greyhound terminal for dinner. Delighted to find that Zuppa Fresca had recently begun opening for dinner and had lasagna on its menu. The lasagna was delicious and I enjoyed the cannolis. My server was attentive. I had the opportunity to talk with the chef, which I took to request he add cioppino to the menu (even if only occasionally as a special).

Zuppa Fresca was an amazing find for lunch. The ambiance was very Italian bistro and the service was wonderful. But what really stood out to me was the delicious food and the great prices. I had the beet salad and sea salt fries as well as the chicken and avocado sandwich. They all were amazing and I would definately come back.
