Diner Reviews
  • "Informal but professional, this is very good food and a diverse menu well delivered. Substantial covered, outdoor seating with heaters that make the space comfortable in cooler weather."

  • "I'm from Canada and just picked this restaurant "site unseen" from Open Table based on its location. The food was of the highest quality and the service was great. I highly recommend it."

  • "On arrival we were greeted with courtesy and recognition. Brandon, the server, knows those customers whom he has served before. He has an excellent memory and is most attentive but not overly so....simply professional. The owner's daughter takes the time to stop by our table to check upon our needs and to let us know that she appreciates our custom. The food is always good, hence our return for those special occasions and for get-togethers with friends."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a very nice dinner in a pretty quiet corner of Zov's Bistro, Tustin the other night. Our food was excellent and cooked to our request. The only thing I am critical about is the price of wine. I am not a wine connoisseur but I enjoy wine with dinner. Their wine is over priced. A half bottle of Cab. was $45.00! Next time I will check if they have a corkage fee and bring my own full bottle. If it had not been our 48th wedding anniversary we would have skipped having wine altogether."

  • "It's always been one of our favorite places to go! We haven't ordered anything that we don't like. Excellent service and great food at Zov's deserve a five star rating from us!"

  • "My group ordered the sea bass, salmon and rib-eye. I had the sea bass and it was delicious, but the red quinoa cake served under it was amazing. I want to figure out how to duplicate those flavors at home! I was a bit disappointed that the waiter never refilled my wineglass from the half-bottle I ordered."

  • "We've been coming for years now. It's the special place we go for birthdays and anniversaries."

  • "The food, as always, is very well prepared. Pistachio crusted sea bass was very good. Spicy shrimp linguini was good, but not unique; maybe needs something to set it apart from similar dishes elsewhere. The server, Brandon, was very personable and took good care of the table."

  • "Being parents to 4 kids leaves my wife and I limited time to go out. and when we do, we have to find places that are local. So we looked into Zov's this last Valentine's Day for dinner. And it did not disappoint. This ranks up there on our list of best Mediterranean cuisine restaurants we've eaten at. The lamb was done just right with a cabernet reduction. The mezze and starter dishes were good as well. And they also have a pretty sizable wine list that addresses pretty much any wine aficionado's craving. Will definitely be back here one of these days."

  • "Gained 2 more clients during lunch in a quiet corner. It was perfect and I appreciate your servers professionalism. And of course the quality of food is always excellent!"

  • "I've always loved Zov's bakery and the patio for lunch, but this was my first time for dinner. It was lovely and the food was great. It was an intimate place for a quiet conversation with friends."

  • "We had an early dinner prior to a show we were attending. The service was excellent and responsive and or food was very good. The house salad and lentil soup were wonderful."

  • "Tanya made sure that our party of nine were seated adjacent to the fireplace and away from the noise. We had one-half of the restaurant to ourselves. The food was excellent."

  • "I had a wonderful date last Saturday night. Everything could not have been better. This was my first time at Zov's and hope it is not the last. The food was great, and the service very helpful. Overall, I was lost in conversation with my date, which is a good thing because that means the restaurant did its job in providing the right ambiance conducive to a very romantic time. I highly recommend Zov's."

  • "Plates were $20-35. Small Menu, but great- I had the Salmon and my husband had the Rack of Lamb. They advertise Happy Hour on their website but was nothing noted when we were there. According to the internet the beer should have been $5. And wine should have a been cheaper, as well as some as the appetizers. So that was a disappointment. But still great tasting food!"

  • "The lentil soup ,salmon, stuffed chicken and lamb shishka were terrific. The sea bass was disappointing. Love the fountain and twinkling lights. Our friends will return with a group. The German chocolate "cup"cake was a huge hit as were the roasted Brussels"

  • "We ate on a Saturday night and as usual we always enjoy the food. I have eaten at Irvine and Tustin and really enjoy the food. It is not over priced and everything is really good. We did take home some deserts and they were excellent also. Breakfast, lunch or dinner is great. I highly recommend the restaurants."

  • "My husband and I had a evening at Zov's with my brother and his wife. We have eaten here before and always enjoyed the dishes ordered. The rib eye steak was thoroughly enjoyed as was the Moroccan salmon. I ordered the pistachio crusted sea bass. The entire sea bass dish was totally lacking in flavor so I was terribly disappointed. I wouldn't have labeled the sea bass as "pistachio crusted", it was more like "lightly sprinkled with" .The tarragon in the sauce was non-existent. The restaurant is beautifully designed to offer the feeling of being outdoors but it well protected by drop down clear shades and heater lamps for in-climate weather."

  • "Food was very good. Service was outstanding. Initial seating was in a cool, drafty area - but we moved to another table more to the center of the outer room, which was satisfactory."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "We had a nice dinner, the sea bass was nice but a bit over done, the lobster ravioli was a little fishy, but the roasted chicken with mushroom sauce was delicious. Overall I would give this place a try again when they have their regular menu to see how their "Mediterranean" food compares. I wish they had some of their other more "ethnic" dishes available, it felt like they were catering to a more safe food selection for a broader clientele."

  • "The food was good...love the golden lentil soup. The service was really lacking when were there last Wednesday."
    Dined on 11/20/2013
  • "Noise level required one to almost yell at their lunch partner to be able to converse. For a nice place, the french fries were so skinny they were like shoestring potatoes that come in the can. There was not any potato to them. For a noisy, sandwich and salad lunch place, prices were a little high. I would return but would try the cafe side."
    Dined on 11/19/2013
  • "Food was great, service was outstanding and manager Victor made sure we had A wonderful time. We will undoubtedly be back at Zov's."

  • "We enjoyed the mezze (appetizer) course so much that we only wanted salads for the main course. I want to return for the wonderful entrees I saw going to satisfied looking folks at other tables They all looked and smelled fabulous."

  • "A group of former colleagues met for lunch. All the meals were very tasty. I had the salmon salad which I've had many times and it was excellent as usual ( though I must say the portion size was smaller than in the past. The salmon was cooked perfectly. And the rolls are some of the best anywhere"
