  • "Good job Zolo! We came here on a celebratory dinner. The food was outstanding, our waitress was engaging and helpful, the drinks were subtly excellent. Only downsides were the strange fast-food spot ambience (we almost left but were glad we didnt) and the slow first round of drinks (we were already done with appetizers). Excellent overall though!"

  • "Third time eating here. First experience was as part of 'first bite' a few years ago, and really liked it. Two visits since have both been underwhelming. Last visit had us at a breezy seat adjacent to the patio (in winter) next to a family with noisy kids (not what you hope for on date night away from your own). Food was fine, but not exceptional. Guac was bland. A good 10 minute wait for drinks from the bar. The place is fine, and clearly popular (hard to get seats here), so I must be missing something others find in this place. I'll be looking for other options. Finally, the reservation through open table was messed up by the restaurant staff (apparently making a new reservation when I called back to confirm time)."

  • "We visited on Valentine's for the prix fixe menu. It was great, except they had already run out of one of the entrees and one of the desserts by the time we sat down to order. They ran the special from 6-10pm....we sat down at 7:45. You shouldn't run out that early. Our waiter was exceedingly gracious about this and offered suitable replacements. However, we were not offered any discounts or comps, despite our very apparent disappointment. Poor planning makes us question a future return."

  • "We went out for Valentine's day without breaking the bank, so we went to Zolo's for happy hour. We love the ambiance, and the wait staff are always well timed and courteous. For our meal, the margs were delicious - get the coin margarita! Great eats included: sopas (chorizo & goat cheese!); dry herb pork ribs; and the best blue corn meal fried oysters on a bed of refreshing light slaw! They had a Valentine's Day menu that included dishes not on their usual menu, and it looked delicious and for a great price: $45 per person for 3 courses with 2 small plates/appetizers & 1 desert. We had the option to order individually from the V-day menu, but found ourselves full & satisfied with our happy hour picks. Enjoy!"

  • "Zolo's is a favorite, we return again and again. Yummy coin style Margarita's a house speciality and the Red Sangria. Chicken Enchilada's are our favorite with a delicious smoky cheese taste. A large portion, accompanied with average rice and beans--we ate one enchilada and took the other home. The Queso Fundido with chorizo appetizer is awesome, very rich, we split it among two and it still was too much to finish. Two (one a chef, the other a foodie) tried the Squash & Poblano Tamales and ate up every bite. The outdoor patio is enjoyable in the summer, and closed and heated in the winter for additional space."

  • "Please turn down the volume on the music, or unwire the speakers over a couple of the tables so we can have a conversation! We couldn't even hear the waitress talking to us right at our table. I know for some loud = fun, but I can't bring my parents here bc they can't hear me across the table."

  • "Wow! We kept our reservation on this snowy night. It was our first time here and we will be back! Try the tray of 4 salsas along with the fresh guacamole. Yum! Enchiladas were a hit with my husband. I had tilapia tacos and would get again. Then hot brownie dessert was on the house for my husband birthday. How special was that! Our waitress was amazing. Thanks for a wonderful evening!"

  • "Wonderful NYE dinner. The blue corn quail was addictive. The chocolate dessert perfect blend of size, flavor, lightness, and just delicate blending of the various flavors. The buffalo tenderloin was tasty, but tougher than expected. Lobster crema.....could eat just that. All said, a very, very good meal that was just a bit short of world class memorable. But by very little. The service was superior, as my date had a special need, and they easily accommodated her. Go there, eat well, and enjoy. Zolo is a great place, and a good value for the quality of the meal."

  • "The food was really good, but we had to hunt down our server at least 5 times because he never came back to check on us. He was extremely nice, but he never came back to us without us having to grab someone. This was sad because we planned on having at least 3 more drinks each, but since it took so long each time to get his attention, we ended up just trying to get our bill. It was New Years Eve, so we took that into consideration and will be trying the restaurant again."

  • "After years of thinking this was one of my "go to" spots for moderately priced good food- I revisited after a long absence and found the food was definitely not as good- the smoked chicken salad was thrown together with little care, gobs of goat cheese, limp greens. We had Zoloritas which were watery, barely lime-flavored and simply sad. My partner ate a more exotic meal of tamales- but the flavor was lacking any zing- any punch- and again felt thrown together for a busy night... there are many things I can forgive a restaurant - but the food? Someone needs to taste and check what's leaving the kitchen- Zolo's- you used to be such a fave... bring it back!"

The staff was very friendly and the food was better than the last time I was there. It was a nice experience.   • "The salad with boar meat was awful. The meat itself is not for every taste -- certainly not for mine, as I discovered -- and the salad overused my least favorite ingredient, broccoli. The one ingredient I'd have enjoyed more of was the smoked beans, but there was less of this item, even, then of all the other ingredients, which themselves were pretty sparse. So many people swear by Zolo that I must have simply picked the wrong dish. I'll try the hamburger next time, since diversity was not the menu's strong suit."

  • "At brunch, it was the best "alternative" Eggs Benedict I've ever had! The guacamole and chips are not to be missed. Crispy Duck Tacos were excellent! Casa Salad is Great! It is a solid favorite when I come to Boulder. We ate there twice on my last 5-day trip to visit the kids at Thanksgiving."
