Select from our menus: Nibble, Begin, Reminisce, Experience and Indulge. Share if you wish, but you’ll have fun with the many tastes available (or consider the “Big Plate” item). Equally important is our commitment to beverages. Our state-of-the-art wine dispensing equipment allows us to offer twenty wines-by-the-glass. Our bottled-wine list is value-laden. Our beer list is compact but clever. Our mixologists enjoy crafting your drink, creative or classic, every bit as much as our culinary staff enjoys preparing your food. • "We were at Zin's for a dinner with wine pairings. The food was superb as always, and the wines were well chosen. We will certainly go again!"

  • "While our waiter tried hard to please, it was clear he was new and didn't know the menu or wine list very well. He was friendly without being intruistuve. The menu was varied and well prepared, except for the lamb which was undercooked. The camari was excellent as was the scallops with bacon. All in all a very nice dining experience."

  • "Service and food were excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful for quiet conversation. Our server was extremely helpful and never interrupted us. The small plates allowed each of us to get a sample of every dish. Would highly recommend this place to anyone for any occasion."

  • "Sadly, over the years this place has gone from excellent to above average, but for Cedar Rapids it is a good place."

  • "The staff at Zins created a great experience. The food was very good and the moderately priced wines were outstanding. Thanks "

  • "Your food is always excellent. We loved the singer. However, the last 2 times that we have dined at Zin's before a Theatre Cedar Rapids and a Paramount production, we were almost late to the show. We have had reservations for 5:30 and 5:15 and do not get out of Zin's until 7:10 for a 7:30 show. We have been served free soup and coupons for free desserts for the delays, but being almost late is very stressful. There must be some kind of problem in the kitchen preparation area."

  • "Nice place!! We would go there again. The food was surprisingly decent although they don't know how to crisp up a lardon."

  • "We made our reservation for 9 at 7:30 in the morning using Open table for a dining time of 10:45. We had the best table in the house, outstanding services, excellent flavors and much bigger small plate portions than expected!"

  • "This was my first brunch, and was probably my second favorite dining experience here. After visiting the night before for late-night drinks and dessert, the cocktail selection and mini-muffins were much appreciated. Unique combinations of breakfast staples made for too many good choices. The breakfast BLT is highly recommended, along with the locally-sourced omelet. Pricing was excellent, as ever, and the tapas style meant that you could try everything and still not walk away too full. This is a restaurant for both today and the future. Service was excellent as well. "

  • "If you are looking for a nice restaurant in Cedar Rapids, IA to take your spouse, I recommend you give Zins a try. The service was great, the food was good, and I found the ambiance just right to have a romantic night out with your honey."

  • "We went early evening on a Friday. Plenty of seating. Greeted right away. Wine was great, enjoyed the frites and cheese plate with our party of four to start. We shared two plates of crab cakes, and likely only needed one plate. Three in our party raved about the kale salad, the mushroom bisque was a bit salty, the duck was a new experience for one and enjoyable. Another in our party had the salmon, which we were told was 4oz, but was much, much smaller. We enjoyed the experience of ordering a little food at a time, tasting lots of offerings. We ended our evening with the chocolate bread pudding, which was perfect for the four of us to share to get just enough of a taste. We will be back!!"

  • "During our family visit we took advantage of the opportunity to visit a few restaurants around the area including Zins. Our experience at this restaurant was good, the food was excellent and the pricing was good. The service could improve to more on top of the guest's needs."
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "We love Zins because the room is lively but not so loud that we can't EASILY converse with our guests and companions. The menu changes constantly and there's always something new and enticing to try. Currently, the shrimp salad, Steak DeBurgo, and Shepherd's Pie are my favorites. The wine list is imaginative, diverse and AFFORDABLE! This is my favorite place in Iowa. Been dining there for YEARS now."

  • "We celebrated our 45th Anniversary at Zins because there is always great service, great food and great wine. What more could we want? Recommend dining on non-theater nights if you want a leisurely dinning experience and even on theater nights when you have an early reservation to avoid the rush for show time. "

  • "Food was ok, service was somewhat lacking and we had made a special request which did not come off as planned. They did comp us for the error which was good. Still probably one of the best in Cedar Rapids...."

  • "Lovely restaurant in downtown Cedar Rapids. Food was excellent and wine and craft selections were plentiful. Sophisticated dining experience but not stuffy."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "The food, as always was great! Service was a little slow, and one of our party (of 3) was worried, as we were going to the Symphony. As it turned out, we arrived at the Paramount with 10 minutes to spare. Our waitress could've checked in with us a bit more often, but she was very nice and professional. We love the ambiance of Zin's, and drinks and dinner were great!"

  • "Zins is one of a handful of great unique restaurants in Cedar Rapids that can accommodate a couple or group, casual or formal attire, and has foodie fare for safe or adventurous tastes. We have eaten both tapas as well as the entrees, and have found everything to be surprising and delicious. The cocktails are very good and the deserts will knock your socks off. Highly recommend!"

  • "The food was outstanding, the wait staff was accommodating and kind, and the place itself was beautiful! The presentation of the dishes knocked the whole experience right out of the park! I would suggest the mushroom bisque, the duck entree, and the chocolate bread pudding! Wow!"

  • "Made reservations online and for very early evening. They had a "chef's table" in an alcove where at one end there was a window to the kitchen. We could have drawn a curtain over it, but had fun watching periodically. So many interesting dishes to choose from ! Some ordered 2, some 3. plus desserts. We all loved what we got. Clearly, the food was prepared with attention to flavor and presentation. Attentive, informative, but not overbearing service. We left happy, satisfied, stimulated, and not feeling over fed. Reserving online was a great option. Did not have to time a phone call with restaurant hours in mind."

  • "Zins is the kind of restaurant that you pray to have in your city. Excellent food, service and ambience. The focaccia is a great opener and it just gets better from there!"

  • "We took our kids out for dinner, and had a very nice time. Did not feel hurried, waitress was able to answer our questions about the wine list, and the food was delicious!"

  • "We live in Iowa City but often make the half hour drive to Zin's in Cedar Rapids for their great small plates. You can order a few, then more, depending on your appetite. It gives you lots of great tastes. We especially liked the scallops (tender and fresh), mushroom bisque (velvety). and lollipop lamb chops (to die for). Great infused cocktails. Extensive wine list including many by the glass in 2 sizes and prices. The service is generally very good. On this night the place was swamped due to a performance of the Alvin Ailey dance company nearby. Service was uneven. Perhaps management should watch the Paramount schedule and plan accordingly for hot shows."

  • "Liked: warm, sleek decor of restaurant; wine list (and ability to order wine by glass not just bottle); crabcakes were delicious; dessert menu (chocolate bread pudding); warm bread served at beginning of meal (good thing since we waited almost 45 min for our first course) Not so good: delivery of courses (most small plate restaurants will bring a couple dishes out at a time, but after being told by the server that the menu was considered "appetizers" on the left and "entrees on the right," we assumed dishes would arrive in that order -- not so); pork wontons were terrible (pork inside was seriously the size of a small pea); steak was medium-rare instead of medium (would have ordered it m-r but wife is pregnant and no rare meat)"
