Zingerman's RoadhouseTerrific place for out of townersWe were a group coming from Germany, New York, California, Clarkston and East Lansing. Everyone enjoyed the food and service. Noise level got a little bit much, would be nice if there were a quieter room option...though maybe we were in it!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryWe were celebrating an anniversary for relatives. Convenient place to meet. Food and staff were great.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMalways great; always reliableThis is not haute cuisine, but it is everyday food made with exceptional ingredients and prepared very well. The drinks are great, the food is great, the service is great, the experience always more than comfortable. Well-worth it every time.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMReliably GoodVery good food and service in a loud ambiance and not inexpensive.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMZingerman's Roadhouse hasZingerman's Roadhouse has a great menu and a is a perfect place for a special event. The food selection offers a wide variety and all the BBQ is superb.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding once again. The food was delicious as always, service was excellent, and atmosphere was fun and energetic as usual. I do wish that I could make a reservation specifically for outdoor seating though. If I am going to the trouble of making the reservation in the first place, it would be nice to be able to request that specifically.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful as usual! We wereWonderful as usual! We were celebrating my daughter's high school graduation and they gave her a free desert--chocolate pudding---her favorite!!!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen deciding on a restaurantWhen deciding on a restaurant for dinner either with friends or with just my husband, I have a difficult time not choosing Zingerman's Roadhouse every time. It is just that good. Every. Single. Time. Both food and service are on a level like no other.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was pretty good. ServiceFood was pretty good. Service was fairly quick and consistent. I had the haddock with the coffee spice rub. The flavor was good but I didn't get much coffee flavor. My boyfriend had the BBQ pork entree which was pretty tasty. We had the donut sundae which was pretty unique. Anything fried always helps.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMJust good stuffDaily menus, fresh and they put some love into it.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding foodAs always, the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Look for Corman Farms produce and treats like Zingerman's Goat Cheese in appetizers and entrees. One problem we have with the menu is exorbitant up-charges to switch out side dishes. I am lactose-intolerant so I avoid the mashed potatoes or mac/cheese sides. To switch out my mashed potatoes for asparagus on my entree was $5.50. Fairly outrageous for a menu that has high price-point to start.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAll American Classic!Comfort food and classic cocktails are my favorite things about Zingerman's. I try to get there whenever I visit Ann Arbor. This visit, I was accompanied by my younger adult son so we all enjoyed it through the eyes of someone experiencing it for the first time. We tried old standbys - barbecue and mac and cheese, and some excellent seafood - coffee spice rubbed mahi mahi, and scallops. I've never been disappointed at Zingerman's and highly recommend it.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMUltimate brunch food. A bitUltimate brunch food. A bit pricey but the service makes it worth it. Pair their simple but bold coffee with any dish and it'll be great.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AM4/5Good, not great, food with kind of small portions & fairly expensive. I will only come here for special occasions.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than Ever!Zingerman's offerings were the best ever, and we're guests there very often. Every meal was outstanding. We love the variations and the new additions, namely the Cornman's beef selections and the Oaxacan choices. Great job, Zingerman's. You never disappoint!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Birthday Meal!My fiance and I went here for his 30th birthday. He loves good BBQ. Everything about our dinner was perfect. Our waitress was one of the best that I've ever had at any restaurant. The food was delicious and we had two delicious wines to pair with the BBQ. Our experience was perfect. It was a Saturday night, so the place was totally packed, so be prepared for a crowd if you go on a weekend.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique dining expeeience! My sales team was looking for a unique dining experience for the last night of our company meetings. We were looking for a diverse menu exceptional wine list and an enjoyable setting. We all of that at Zingerman's Roadhouse. the ribs were some of the best I have had anhwhere and my entire party was pleased with their menu selections. Zingerman's is also a great value for the quantity and quality of food.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMsoooooo goodIt was so good totally worth the drive to Ann Arbor. Food was excellent, everything taste fresh organic and local items. There fairly priced and the have a blue plate special. I had the bbq beef dinner it taste like home cooking only better my husband had the fried chicken. You would think your grandma was in the kitchen cooking it.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFriendly, Helpful WaitressLauren, our waitress, was friendly, helpful, patient, and all-around delightful. She responded to our every request. The grilled salmon was delicious. This is an excellent place of dining for special occasions (spelled with one "s" and not two, as on your form above). The restaurant was noisy and too warm.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, high quality food.Very good, high quality food. Normally I would give 5 stars for food, but my husbands omelette was cold and dry.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMlove this place! We've been here a few times before, but brought the extended family for a special event. Everyone loved their meals and drinks. We are never disappointed5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA tearful farewellMy wife and I have been coming to Zingerman's Roadhouse almost every weekend for the past year and a half. Alas, we are moving back to Virginia this week, so we paid our last visit to the Roadhouse yesterday. The Carolina White Grits that I love so much were not on the menu for Sunday, so I had an almost equally delicious 'last' meal -- the buttermilk chicken. My wife had one of her usuals as well...the Lox and Bagels. Our waitress Sharon made sure our final weekly outing to Zingerman's was an enjoyable experience.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't believe I live inI can't believe I live in Ann Arbor and have never been here before. Such a fun place! It is not "fast food", you need to be ready to have a meal. It is "American" food in the best way possible. They have a great microbrew selection; too many to try at one sitting. And who goes out to get barbeque any more? Well, I do, now that I tasted theirs! Portions are very generous, so if you live locally plan to bring some home for another meal. If you don't like barbecue (or are watching your cholesterol) they do have other choices. My husband had the Michigan whitefish and enjoyed that as well.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSure to pleasegreat comfort food, the whole family loved it. mac and cheese was incredible, as was fried chicken. only wish we had room for the BBQ. our waiter was sooooo friendly, patient, and great. get the eclairs to go- you wont be sorry!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food, service, aexcellent food, service, a little pricey, but it was worth it.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food!Food was great and our server, Derek was the best. We go to Zingerman's at least once a week.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy family appreciates theMy family appreciates the gluten free items. The food was outstanding.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was good. I selectedThe food was good. I selected the rainbow trout, blackened. I had two cocktails while I was there. The Sazerac was good, though it should have been made with Sazerac rye whiskey. The Mai Tai was odd. It was way too sour. The rice pudding for dessert was very tasty.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, Local Food! The service and local food were amazing. If there is a downfall, it is the menu price. Be prepared to spend good money on good food.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome waitress and goodAwesome waitress and good food! I like the Gluten Free options.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for after graduationI'd made reservations for dinner at Zingerman's Roadhouse after graduation from U of M. In response that that, I received a call 2 weeks before, and they offered to make a personalized cake to celebrate the day. Not only was the food and service excellent as always, but the cake was AMAZINGLY delicious and beautifully designed!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnn Arbor GemZingerman's Roadhouse is a neighborhood treasure and a city gem. Love all of it. They provide an excellent meal in a comfortable setting with great wait staff.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMContinues to impressStill love Zingermans. We had the Grillades and Grits - very tender, great Fried Chicken and Grits and Bits Waffles. Also had the Gelato - Vanilla is my favorite.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLong time customer. I hadLong time customer. I had my usual breakfast order of eggs benedict, which was delicious.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place. Can definitelyI love this place. Can definitely tell that they put a lot of effort into each dish. Everything I had was delicious. Excellent service too.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time there. WeOur first time there. We had a great brunch. Service and food were very good. They live up to their billing.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMbusy waiter kept adults & kids hapyWe came with 4 adults, a 6 year old, and a 1 1/2 year old - the waiter took great care of all of us. He seemed to be spread a little thin -some things seems to be forgotten or slower than usual, but when we really needed something, we were well taken care of.
The food, as usual, was just right.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have a great dinner/bruncWe always have a great dinner/brunch at the Z's. Best food prep around.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLike a good friend's homeAlways great service. Ari (owner) a wonderful host and Zingerman's promoter. Feels like going to a good friend's home.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique and excellent in every wayWonderful totally unique restaurant. Casual with excellently prepared American/southern food. In true Zingerman's fashion, samples are happily presented for everything you wish, even wine and bourbon. Highlights for us--a warm spinach and mushroom salad, "meat and 3," a steak with choice of 3 sides (I had mashed potatoes, greens cooked with hammocks and bacon), and mustard cole slaw), and a bar-b-que trio (chicken, pork, and beef with 3 sauces). Of course there was a wonderful assortment of Zingerman breads with butter on the table. High high value on native and local farm sourcing.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy dear daughter and I hadMy dear daughter and I had a lovely dinner and evening at the Road House. Super fresh
oysters on the half shell..... so cold and squirted with fresh lemon... a taste of the
sea. The crab cakes seemed awfully small plus we ordered two, one for each of us and
one was very small, the other a bit larger, quite a difference in size. One other small
thing: I ordered the caesar salad and when it was brought to me the leaves were not
torn or cut but laid out in a flat fashion... I am accustomed to having the salad dish
with torn or cut Romaine rather than laid flat on the plate.... but it tasted terrific
and would only have loved a bit of fresh parmesan sprinkled over the top of the salad.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a party of 6 for SundayWe were a party of 6 for Sunday brunch at Zingerman's. Three had been before, three not. Without exception everyone had difficulty choosing from the innovative menu. Also without exception all enjoyed their choices. In fact we joked about how quiet we became while eating and how no one offered to share. Service was friendly and fast. All in all a fine experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch in TownAs always, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Everyone loved their meals. I brought two friends who had never been before. They can't wait to bring their spouses and families back. The server was friendly, attentive, and very kind. We stayed at the table and chatted for quite a while, and he didn't seem to care one bit. I made sure we took care of him for his excellent service and patience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceIt was the second time I went to the roadhouse. I reserved on Zingerman's website which was a very convenient way. I took three of my friends there this time. All of them were very satisfied with both of the food and the service. The waitress was very patient when we asked for food recommendations. The cheese tastes great!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was heavenly; theThe food was heavenly; the service extraordinary as it always is. I really liked the white wine that the server recommended called "Chemistry." My boyfriend and I had Ari's Donut Sundae for dessert which I loved. The donut was so fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. So delicious. The server made us feel right at home and was incredibly helpful.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Ann Arbor institution! An Ann Arbor institution, Zingerman's Roadhouse features a wide variety of food and beverages. Virtually any diner can find something to love on the menu from artisan cheeses to vegetarian-friendly dishes and from healthy salads to decadent smoked meats and rich mac 'n cheese fare. The food is always fresh and don't overlook the blue plate specials for $13.95 -- one special each day. My favorites include the BBQ beef, split pea and ham soup, shrimp & crab louis salad, and the meatloaf. The fried chicken, at twenty bucks for four pieces, is tasty if not on the dry side but beware the beef chili -- the peppers pack a wallop! The mixed drinks and beer selection is described in the silver metal binders on each table.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat you get here is reallyWhat you get here is really good food. It is a roadhouse, so do not expect fancy, but the menu is full of great comfort food from all parts of America.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was unbelievable! The food was unbelievable! It was a little loud, but otherwise good atmosphere. The menu is extensive, but everything we tried was delicious!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat late night spot in Ann ArborAn extension of the perennial Ann Arbor favorite, Zingerman's Roadhouse is everything great about the original with the addition of drinks and late night dining. Lunch and dinner menu focuses heavily on American comfort food with a Southern twist (barbeque, fried chicken, braised greens are just a few of the options) with breakfast being devoted to the standard fare kicked up ten notches, like buttermilk biscuits with sorghum syrup. Kid friendly, gluten-free and vegan options are available throughout all services and daily specials, unique dinner menus and some of the best happy hour specials in town round out what's always a novel dining experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a reservation for 6We had a reservation for 6 people and arrived on time. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but the staff was super apologetic and offered us free appetizers as consolation. Everyone who works there is to be commended for their excellent customer focus. We all loved the food we ordered, which included fresh fish, steak, and barbeque. This was our first visit, but won't be our last.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
