Our passion is to serve guests full-flavored, traditional, regional American foods in a down-to-earth restaurant atmosphere.

James Beard-winning Chef Alex Young and the Roadhouse crew serve a daily breakfast, lunch & dinner menu and weekly specials, with a passion for Really Good American Food, using seasonal, heirloom produce from Cornman Farms—our very own farm, supplying Roadhouse tables with hours-old vegetables.

Our All-American Bar serves carefully chosen wine and beer lists and an extensive Classic Cocktail menu that embraces balance and a return to better ingredients.

Join us for our Monthly Special Dinners and explore in-depth, regional American cuisine with guest culinary experts and producers.

We build community connections by hosting local music outdoors on our patio, a farmers market in the Roadhouse parking lot & fundraisers for local non-profits.

Service met a low standard, the tables are jammed together too close, every room was very loud and it was not relaxing or very pleasant. Good things: an open kitchen and they take OpenTable.com. In short I was disappointed and would not go back."

  • "Food and service great as usual - very busy on a Monday evening with nothing really happening in town. Thank God I had a reservation. Apps - pimento and cheese (ask for side of bagel chips to go with them), sweet potato fries, and fried green tomatoes excellent! Fried chicken, pimento mac n cheese, and salisbury steak were ordered and tasty. Salisbury steak a bit on the salty side, but still a good dish."

  • "The food was okay, not great, it lacked flavor. The Kale salad was delicious but the grits had no flavor at all. The staff was very friendly but the restaurant was very dirty and the staff did not look well kept (dirty aprons, hair in face, no gloves, etc.)."

  • "Zingerman's Roadhouse has it all: fun crews, seasonal menu, traditional american food, exhaustive list of drinks. In fact, so much to choose from that one will probably be lost. But fear not, the servers are always there to share their professional views, and in my case they are always right. For example, I was recommended a "Fried Pickled Tomatoes", something that I will not order in my own accord but decided to try anyway, and I like it right when I put it in my mouth. If you like seafood, Zingerman's Roadhouse also makes one of the best grilled fish (I had the bluefish, again recommended by my server, and was really flavorful). To sum up, Zingerman's Roadhouse is definitely worth a visit, whenever one is in our cosy town of Ann Arbor."

We were in and out in an hour. The service was fast, she had no problem with separate checks and the food was wonderful. We could not have been happier."

The food is outstanding, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and gracious, and there is not a hint of pretention or self-importance in the place. I come to Ann Arbor at least twice a year and I typically eat breakfast at the deli and dinner at the Roadhouse each day. In fact, our family looks forward to our Zingerman's meals and remembers them as highlights of our trips. If only there were one in Houston!"

  • "Every time we visit Ann Arbor we frequent Zingerman's Roadhouse at least twice (in a weekend). Why? Great American comfort food that is innovative, delicious, with the best ingredients (a Zingerman's trademark), and so many great choices. We have to visit at least twice as there are so many choices to enjoy! Our sons love the Chicken Fried Steak and BBQ, We also love the BBQ choices as well as the many kinds of incredible Mac and Cheese. Lots of great appetizers...but our family favorite is the thick cut, lightly salted sweet potato fries with a delicious chipotle mayo dip on the side. For drinks the kids have a delicious rootbeer each visit and we love the cocktails...Especially their margaritas with fresh lime juice and Cointreau."

  • "I had my "waffle" card with ten punches so I got free one. Instead of the Bits n Grits Waffle ($12.50), I decided on the plain Belgian ($9.00) but I asked for some of the cheddar cheese on the side. I was charge $2 for the cheese! That did not seem correct since I could've gotten the Bits n Grits free for $3.50 more! Plus the server did not bring me a new waffle card. Disappointing and he never came back so I could ask for a new card."

  • "We went for brunch. Food was standard Zingerman's fair but by the time the egg dishes got to us they were cold. The wrong size pancake order came for my son. We re-ordered the right size; the new order came, it was 40 minutes later and still the wrong size. We didn't get charged, so there's that, but the aggravation was considerable, especially for a young boy. Waitress did her best -- we know she hassled the kitchen several times during the wait, and herself got the order right, but it seems the kitchen wasn't paying attention properly. All in all not the relaxing brunch we'd hoped for."

  • "We had nine for breakfast last Sunday including out of town guests that love Zingerman's Roadhouse as do I. We ordered extensively from their great menu...waited much longer than usual for the food...about half of it arrived cold. Everyone that had any sort of eggs received cold eggs. The server didn't come around soon enough to check on us to do anything about it. It was an atypical Zingerman's experience...had it been our first time there, it may well have been our last. Fortunately though, 9 times out of 10, I have a great time at the Roadhouse."

  • "It can be hard to resist the original award winning mac and cheese at the Roadhouse but a new summer version was on the menu - Caprese mac and cheese with heirloom tomatoes, basil pesto, housemade mozzarella, topped with Stravecchio cheese and a drizzle of balsamic syrup. Amazing! We asked for spoons to scoop up every delicious bit of the sauce. Jake was attentive, helpful, and friendly, as always. The service and the food are always top notch at the Roadhouse."

The food is great and the service is even better. Margaret did a great job making suggestions and providing us excellent service on a busy night.   • "Imagine eating dinner with a view of a parking lot and street construction. Totally lacking in ambience. For the price, the food is overrated and boring. This place needs to kick it up a notch! Kudos on the easy access for ordering drinks at the bar and excellent service. Nothing else is worth a visit."

  • "We had dinner after attending the Ann Arbor art fair. The food was wonderful and there were great choices for everyone. I had the fried chicken and my wife had the mussels. Our friends had the specialty macaroni and cheese and the catfish. Each one was well prepared. We will be back next year when we attend the fair. I would strongly suggest getting reservations as we had some and only had to wait 20 minutes. Those without reservations had to wait at least 40 minutes."

Our out-of-town guests were impressed by the menu and the food. The roasted carrots looked a lot wilder than I expected; they were excellent. Really, everything was excellent. Co-owner Ari Weinzweig was on hand to refill water glasses."

  • "We went there with friends who hadn't been. As usual, the food was solid. The whitefish with the garlic nage was outstanding, very flavorful. The BBQ beef was delicious. My friend had the beet and goat cheese salad and stated she didn't know a salad could pack so much punch. The poutine as a bit underwhelming, but that is likely personal preference as the gravy made the fries soggy. The service was great; our waitress was very attentive. My only complaint was that the portion of the coconut cream pie was small for the price. It was good, but a very small portion. Overall, another great dining experience."
