Diner Reviews
  • "Great food and great service every time! We have been trying to eat healthier and have been eating vegetarian when possible. Zingermans offers several options including gluten free, using fresh ingredients from the midwest. Their Carolina grilled grits were amazing. We will be back!"

  • "A wonderful place to explore great food with authentic American ingredients, like Point Reyes blue cheese and Carolina grits. Not the most attractive location, in a strip mall on the outskirts of town. But the food and drinks make up for it. Excellent brunch, too."

  • "Six of us went for brunch on a Saturday, including 2 kids. The food and the service were both really excellent. Fried chicken is top notch. The room was a little chilly - that was my only complaint. Highly recommend."

  • "Absolutely extraordinary food. Small but good wine list. Great service. Want to go back many times."

  • "I love to eat out, and one of the places I love to go is Zingerman's Roadhouse. I have eaten there for brunch, lunch and dinner. It is an hour's drive from me, but worth the drive. The service is courteous and helpful, and the food is fabulous. It is hard to recommend any one item, as you can't go wrong no matter what you order."

  • "This restaurant is huge, bustling and food is delicious. Nothing high "falutin". Large portions. Large variety. Bubbly servers."

  • "I'm not sure if this place could ever fail to live up to expectations. Always great food with amazing ingredients and spot-on service. My wife and I try to stop every time we're back in town and are tempted with the mail order items in-between trips. An awesome restaurant!"

  • "1st timer, went on a Monday nite. Ordered chicken fried steak and Beef BBQ diner plate. Excellent meals and surprised the portion size was perfect. Hade room for a mini desert. Make reservations since it is a popular spot."

  • "The service at Zingerman's Roadhouse was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out- service was amazing. The staff was extremely polite and attentive. The food was good although I think it could have been better for the price. My boyfriend and I had two appetizers (fried vidalia onions and crab cakes) and the pull pork as our meal. The crab cakes were amazing! I would definitely come back for to have those again. The fried vidalia onions were also tasty, similar to the blooming onion at Outback. I have had better pull pork, which is a bit disappointing considering it was 15 dollars. We would go back maybe for breakfast, lunch, or brunch just to try new menu items. Interested to try a po' boy!"

  • "Went for a deferred Father's Day brunch with my wife and 23 y.o. son. We had a great meal and a great time. Service was consistently friendly, attentive and server had a great sense of humor. (I love it when people laugh seem to sincerely find my jokes at least a bit humorouse.) I am diabetic and my blood sugar was low on arrival so my server promptly brought me a glass of (delicious) fresh orange juice and to my surprise, it was nowhere on the bill. Right on!"

  • "Ribeye was perfectly cooked, and the farm-fresh sides (radishes, asparagus, spinach) were flavorful and light. Something for everyone on the large menu. Derrick made my kids feel like the coolest little people in the world. Save room for dessert!"

  • "Had the 4 piece chicken dinner.....hot and juicy! Good food and good experience."

  • "Celebrated a birthday and graduation with dinner at Zingerman's...was the first time there for my kids, and they loved it! Calamari was nice and crunchy with a great sauce. Poutine was good, but not as good as in Toronto, Canada yet where we are used to getting it...gravy needs some work, and mozzarella curds are traditional, but we can live with the cheddar. BBQ pork entree was excellent, as well as the Ribeye... medium rare was cooked perfectly. The waitress gave excellent service and saw to our every need. I'll definitely bring the family back to try other items on the menu."

  • "I have eaten here before just as a friendly dinner, however they were awesome when it came to serving 13 people. The menu is kid friendly and you can pretty much get what you want."

  • "I always enjoy my meals at Zingerman's Roadhouse and this time was no different. They are consistently great and I appreciate their dedication to quality ingredients."

  • "The Roadhouse staff worked with me to prepare a remarkable gluten free, dairy free breakfast - as always with quality ingredients. My omelet with smoked pork loin and sun dried tomatoes was delicious."

  • "Very good food. Service was excellent and very fast. Many different items on the menu that were interesting and different from the norm."

  • "We took a group of co-workers to Zingerman's Roadhouse for a birthday lunch. The staff was truly amazing. Our waiter, Derrick, could not be more helpful and/or knowledgeable. He did an excellent job in attending to our table, making recommendations and overall being a truly pleasant person. The food, as always, was delicious but it was the excellent service that we received that has spurred me to write a review on our visit."

  • "The food here is generally great, especially the meats, but the mini burgers bread was stale when I went for Sunday dinner. I thought I would let them know because I am sure they will correct this."

  • "Had another great dinning experience at Zingerman's. "

  • "Saturday evening on Memorial Weekend and noise level is just too much. Seated at table in bar; kept raising our voices to hear conversation. Waiter was nice but service was slower due to how busy it was overall. Ordered two apps...heirloom tomatoes in olive oil and fried green tomatoes. The heirloom one was NOT worth the money and nothing spectacular flavor-wise...also very, very small portion for the price. Don't order this. The fried tomatoes were excellent! Dinner was fried chicken mac n cheese (mostly bits of fried batter not chicken), pan fried red snapper w/mashed potatoes and spinach (spinach did not pair well but fish was perfect), as well as BBQ pork plate (ultimate comfort food); plus grilled asparagus...overall food was great!"

  • "Debbie and I love Zingerman's. I love the breakfast, all the dishes are excellent, and we can't help getting those famous fries even for breakfast. Hey after all the eggs are from Homer Michigan. Ha We Love the sandwiches, especially the turkey reuben sandwich up town. You truly make a simple dish special. "

  • "Excellent quality food and service as always. Our server, Mandy, was very accommodating to all our requests, though our requests were small. We brought a couple that had been to the deli and creamerie but not the Roadhouse and they were impressed."

  • "This place has the food foodies dream about! Where else can you see an owner (Ari) filling water glasses and busing tables. What dedication. "

  • "The staff provided a few surprises on top of the outstanding food to make our celebration extra special. "

  • "While ZR is noisy and not relaxing, the service is excellent and the food good. Our salmon was disappointing as it was too salty and greasy, and the Teriyaki salmon dish we enjoyed in the past was no longer on the menu. Chocolate puddin', spinach, and mashed potatoes were quite good. Wait staff works hard and seems knowledgable and pleasant."
    Dined on 5/22/2014
  • "Nice "local" restaurant with a good range of food styles from homey mac and cheese to more exotic fare. Fabulous bread and collard greens. The noise level made conversation a challenge which is not good with visitors."
    Dined on 5/21/2014
  • "This is the third time my husband and I have eaten here and all three times we have had the same experience: the food is always greasey, over-cooked and over-priced. We do not mind paying up for excellent food, but we have always had extremely poor food. We came this time at our son's request for our daughter-in-laws' birdthday. We were all very disappointed."

  • "If one has the opportunity to dine at this fine Ann Arbor establishment, they'd simply be an idiot to pass it up. The service was Grade A, clearly as well as the food is second to none. The place is extremely comforting with it's quirky Ann Arbor Zingerman's design. "
