We're Zingerman's Roadhouse regulars, so were disappointed when the food was "only" good. We are used to exceptional food from Zingermans. The service was, however, exceptional as usual.

Zingerman's was a great experience and a great value for the quality of the food. The OpenTable web site indicated business casual dress; that is way overstated as most diners were in shorts or jeans.

What a find! I was in Ann Arbor on business and the hotel recommended the Roadhouse. The food was outstanding, the service was great. The owners came over to the table a few times to chat. Explored the Zingerman's Deli later and Zingerman's Bakery the following day. Would have gone to the Creamery, but it wasn't open yet. Bought tons of baked goods from the Bakery and brought back to Chicago. I have been raving about the place ever since.

One of the best Eastern NC barbecue plates I've had this side of the Mason Dixon . . . The Collards were tasty, as were the mashed potatoes. My only complaint is that I wanted more! The portions could have been a little bigger, but the flavor was great!

We really enjoyed the dinner at Zingerman's Roadhouse. They have VERY good seafood dishes. The salmon grill we had was so thick and tasty. Crab cakes were also wonderful. In addition to the dishes, they offered good service; for example, our waitress gave us a dessert for free after I told her it was our wedding anniversary. Thanks for the great night!

Well, I enjoyed my meal; I love Zingerman's and what they stand for. I know Ari and he was dispensing water the night we dined; he is a wonderful person. But, my guests all fell a little ill after eating there. I am not sure why. They had fatty food options and may be the food is too heavy for some people. I had a salad with sauteed scallops which was great and I felt fine. The waiter gave me regular coke instead of diet coke, so that would be a huge no-no, had I been diabetic. From Zingerman's, I expect more attention to detail. However, I say all this so that they introspect and improve; I love Zingerman's and will continue to eat there the usual food I eat which doe snot make me sick.

We went to the roadhouse to celebrate Father's Day. Though our dad doesn't like much of a fuss made, the roadhouse satisfied his meat and potatoes style, while also holding the attention of us, his adult children who are very interested in GOOD food. We were all very satisfied. Thanks Zingerman's!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

This is my favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. Great to bring out-of-town guests -- but also a place you can bring your toddler and feel welcome. Try the pimento cheese, amazing warm bread, the chocolate chess pie (in season), fried chicken (great in the salad, too), wahoo fish, fried green tomatoes in the summer, fried doughnut sundae, the pimento cheeseburger. Brunch -- the bacon and grits waffles are a MUST! My only complaint is the bathroom -- they go to the trouble of supplying thick nice handtowels but no disposable toilet seat cover -- HELLO?!?!?

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 6/6/2008
I'll confess, of all the visits to Zingerman's Roadhouse, this one left the most to be desired. We didn't have knives at our table (I spread butter on my bread with a fork); we weren't given an option for the size of beer; the waitress seemed unfamiliar with the specials; and when my companion ordered his meal, instead of replacing the two sides with the options he requested, the waitress added them to the bill as extra sides. Regardless, we'll certainly be back. This was the first time that we left disappointed in the service.

There were beer's on the menu that they no longer carried and I feel that this is a detail that should be taken care of. A patron should not have to find this out by ordering and then find out they don't have the item, so just remove it or take the time to put a note on the menu saying they don't have the item.

Would not recommend Zingerman's Roadhouse. The food was poor, not presented well and overpriced. The restaurant has smaller separate rooms that have poor acustics, so that normal conversation at the table was nearly impossible. Communicating with the wait staff was a shouting match. Barbecue sandwiches were dry and served on too large buns. Pork chop was almost all bone. Clam Chowder was missing clams and had an overpowering bacon taste. Side of mustard cole slaw was awful tasting. Usually try to be positive about something, but this was truly a poor dining experience - - avoid.

Food and service were very good. However, when we arrived we were told that they did not have our reservation and it would be a 45 minute wait. They eventually found it after we produced our hard copy confirmation, but then we were told it was a 10-15 minute wait. After we waited for about 15 minutes, another party (of 6)came in and was told they also had a 10-15 minute wait. They complained to the manager, and despite the fact they came in later and their full party was not yet there, they were seated 5 minutes before us.I found this portion of the experience greatly disappointing, especially considering Zingermans book on how to treat your customers like royalty. In this capacity, we were treated like unappreciated commoners on Mothers Day.
