Zinc is a lively three level bistro in Historic Nob Hill. Featuring an open, urban ambiance, Zinc offers casual fine dining on the main level and the loft mezzanine. For those looking for an exciting show, the exhibition bar offers seats right along the open kitchen. The menu focuses on high quality - yet affordable - American bistro fare and utilizes seasonal ingredients, many of which are sourced from local farmers. The Cellar Bar offers the same extensive wine list and premium cocktails as the upstairs, but in a more intimate lounge atmosphere with a lighter menu.   • "We went there for my birthday, wife & 2 sons. Normally we go to the Mediterranean-type restaurant down the street but wanted to do something different. We'd been to Zinc in the past but it's not our usual choice. Due to possible scheduling issues with the adult sons we decided to go early, 5:30, for dinner and did an Open Table request at the last minute. Service was great and food very good but not perfect. Still, we'll gladly go back. Zinc is in our general neighborhood and we like to patronize places like that."

  • "Don't forget your parking money. Arriving after 6 pm means the City of Albuquerque will allow your vehicle to remain on their streets, but before 6, you need to pay for metered parking. I really liked the scallops, but the menu had other choices I'd probably like too. Nice place to meet, talk, enjoy a slightly overpriced, but very well prepared meal."

  • "Zinc has a sophisticated atmosphere but also quite welcoming. The design sets it apart from many restaurants and clearly indicates the hand of an excellent architect. Their bar is beautiful, warm, and the drinks are served with a generous hand. The menu is varied and offers half portions for those who are not too hungry. The service is friendly and competent. Whether you order an appetizer or one of their special dinner entrees, you will not be disappointed. The prices are within reason and you can limit your spending by ordering the half-size orders if you are inclined. It is a well thought-out restaurant, run by a highly competent restauranteur who also runs two other excellent restaurants in Albuquerque, Savoy and Seasons."

  • "We had an excellent brunch with friends to celebrate the holidays. I had the trout served over spinach and butternut squash with fried eggs on top. It was smoky and delicious. Each of us selected a different entree and enjoyed our brunch. Price is fair for the quality and portions. Service was a little slower than usual, but our server was also taking care of a huge party 20+ at the same time as well as several other small tables. Looked like perhaps they were down a wait staff member, but all members of the team pitched in to make sure plates were cleared and drinks refilled."

My lamb was cooked perfectly. The only downside was that the sides that came with my meal were a little underwhelming and underseasoned. Particularly when I consider how well cooked my protein was. However, that would be my only knock. Great environment, great service, and great food."

As this was a birthday dinner for my husband, we needed a Monday dinner reservation. Zinc is one of just a few nice restaurants in Albuquerque that is open Sunday and Monday evening. Spousal unit and I split appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. It was plenty of food for 2, just getting 1 of each. We had the pan-seered flank steak with a cracked pepper rub and it was quite good."

  • "We split the potsticker appetizer. We got the large portion (6) which I was worried would be too much. I'm so glad we each got 3. They were amazing. Crispy and succulent. We split the beef with the port demiglaze. Not only was our appetizer split in the kitchen to 2 plates, our dinner was as well. Again--perfection. A perfect portion for us. I love that the menu has several options for sizes of plates. For dessert we shared the carrot cake--another great choice. I will definately go to Zinc when I return to Albuquerque."
