A word from Zin Room
The Zin Room maintains a cozy appearance, warm colors, and the active sights and sounds from the exquisite, floor to ceiling fireplace. Lofty ceilings give way to a semi-private mezzanine area for dining. We offer a lounge area with happy hour Monday thru Saturday from 3:00pm - 6:30pm and all day Sunday. We offer live music several days a week including most Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. An extensive wine list was the inspiration to name the Zin Room, that also presents a selection of classic and contemporary cocktails, including several signature drinks. "The AmaZIN Martini" made with Zinfandel, cream and raspberry liquor or the "Bourbon for Breakfast" featuring bacon infused bourbon made in-house. Guests can expect graceful touches in all the cocktails made at the Zin Room. The Zin Room also features five private rooms for banquets, receptions, and conferences to suit your needs.Continued

  • "Great food and outstanding waitress.Being from Grand Island we were not aware of this fine dining experience; we will definitely return on a future visit to Omaha."

  • "Waited 20 minutes to get served. Our salad came out before bottle of wine food was so-so lacking in flavor and spice. But once I found a Band-Aid in my linguine and clams the night was over. The manager was very apologetic and assured us he this would be addressed. He stated in the 10 years he had been a restaurant manager this is the first time he had ever seen this happen. I certainly wish it wouldn't have happened to me."

  • "I could of got the same food at half the price at some other restaurant. my wife and I went for an anniversary dinner and we didn't like the food I had a grilled chop and she got steak. Her steak was some of the worst steak I have ever tasted she couldn't eat it, it had no taste what so ever... Anyway service was slow and they made you feel as if it was a privilege to be eating there, which wasn't the case at all. topping it off the prices were ridiculous I honestly believe they have raised there price because for some reason they believe themselves to have a fancy atmosphere! Again not the case There is nothing fancy about the place."

  • "We love The Zin Room. It is has a beautiful and unique atmosphere. The food is always delicious and we've always had great service. Every time we stop we are always very pleased! The great thing about this restaurant is whenever your in the area they are open. There hours of operation are very accommodating. It's a great place to go after a show at the Holland or the Orpheum."

  • "We dined at Zin prior to attending an Orpheum Theatre performance. It is a perfect spot to get an early parking spot and then walk to the Theatre. The food was excellent and our waitress friendly and fun. When we first arrived there were not many diners (we were quite early because of the performance), and the music was over powering. We asked that it be turned out... no problem... they willingly accommodated us. Highly recommend this downtown spot !"

  • "First time to this place. First impression positive, including fireplace. Server knowledgeable and helpful. But entrée arrived before soup and salad with explanation that soup and salad would be complimented to us along with a free desert. Great recovery by restaurant from its mistake. I would recommend this place to all based on our first experience there. Any place that corrects its mistakes as generously as they did is to be commended. Food was delicious, prepared well, and presented gorgeously."

  • "Great experience for dinner. It was a very quiet evening and the food was great! We enjoyed the house wine and the fried ice cream was delicious!!!"

  • "Great steaks undermined by overly vinegared wedge salad and tough & bland mussels. This place has great potential but needs a more thoughtful kitchen."

  • "We enjoyed the ambiance and decor and had especially good service- personable and attentive, but not invasive."

  • "My pork cassoulet was over salted but was still delicious and I highly recommend the bruchetta trio as well. If you do not get the fried ice cream fr dessert (or eat for dinner even) you will reget it!!"

  • "Normally we have had good experiences at the Zin Room but this time we had pretty poor service (glasses lined up on the table to be taken, slow return to find out if food is to liking) and the appetizer was way undercooked and the entrée was way over cooked. We were offered a dessert for our dissatisfaction."

  • "My wife and I had a table for two along the north wall. As indicated above the food and service were wonderful as was the general ambiance. The background noise was such that we could not have a quiet conversation with each other across our table. "Energetic" may be good for some but not for people who wish to talk. For this reason, I will not bring business associates to Zin for a recruiting dinner. Being able to talk in normal voices is important to some of us."

  • "I took my fiancé of 30 minutes to Zin Room after proposing. I had a reservation for 7 and got in without any wait or hassle. I also had reservations for at the Hotel Deco for the night, which is an amazing place in itself. We ordered steaks and drinks along with the homemade mac and cheese. The food was top-notch, the service was excellent. We will be back."

  • "We were there for Valentines Day so I was not sure a planned menu would be good but it was great! Great selection and the filet was outstanding! Dessert was also excellent"

  • "This is the place for you if you want very slow service. Took over 45 minutes to get our food and my steak was cold. Had to wait with an empty drink glass for over 10 minutes before they refilled our waters. Ordered wine and had to ask for it two times before it was brought to our table. Not worth the over priced menu. I will never return."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed dinner at the Zin Room prior to a performance at the Orpheum. Once again, the food was excellent. My husband and I both enjoyed a house salad before our entrees arrived. My husband ordered the filet and I the sea bass. The Zin Room offers an impressive wine list. We also highly recommend requesting a table near the fireplace."

  • "Just beneath the surface of everything was a restaurant on the way out. Peeling paint, loose railings, leaky toilets, dried out lemon slice in my water, overlooked steak held under a heat lamp, frozen "frites", etc. It's a cool looking place that is located perfect for dinner before a sow at the orpheum. As long as you don't want anything more than that, you are good to go."

  • "We were going to the opera after dinner, and this restaurant was nearby. I previewed the menu online. We were to meet our brother, and his family. They had wanted o go to a different restaurant, but acquiesed to our choice. A party of six with reservations over a month in advance. The bar had about 4 stools, all taken, so I sat at a table in front of the fireplace while my husband tried to find parking. The waiter asked me to sit elsewhere since the seats by the fireplace were "reserved". Then the hostess stated we were to go through the "west door" into a boxy conference room with no ambience, where we were surprised with a "Valentine's Day" 3 course menu of 6 limited choices around $45 each. We were all disappointed by surprises."

  • "Really great restaurant especially before Orpheum Shows!"

  • "Our party of 5 arrived 2 hours before our show, as we notified our waiter. It took over an hour to receive our food after we ordered. It was quite a rush to make our show. The Mac and cheese was not as good as we previously remembered. My vegetable was forgotten, but the waiter quickly retrieved a replacement. Although the food was good, the menu seemed to be lacking."

  • "Great meal. Great atmosphere. Had 6:30 pm reservations and was seated right away. Had tickets to an 8:00 pm show, and had plenty of time to sit, relax and eat."

  • "We went for Valentine's Day dinner a day early. I have always loved Zin Room in the past, and it is always the first place I pick. Unfortunately, it wasn't up to par this time. Our server seemed distracted, possibly busy with a bigger table upstairs. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and I saw our food come up to the window and sit there for a long time. By the time we got it, it was still warm, but not hot. I ordered a pasta dish, and the noodles were mushy. The tomatoes in the sauce tasted canned, not fresh. My wine was fantastic, though. My boyfriend's steak and sides were good, but he got charged an extra $2 per glass for ordering his whisky on the rocks instead of neat. Zin Room is usually much better, and I was disappointed."

  • "From service to ambiance to food, The Zin Room has all the bases covered. They have a great wine list and a menu that everyone can find something they like. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our entrees, in particular the short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes. Try the out of this world mac and cheese! If you order bananas foster, they'll make it for you table side, which is a fun experience. Our waiter let us try a sample of the wine before we ordered a glass to be sure we'd enjoy it. Service was attentive and professional, it made the experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend The Zin Room for a fabulous meal."

  • "The server never made eye contact, seemed like he didn't have time for us and didn't want to be there. Well, to be honest I felt like my chair was going to break underneath me (and I'm 145 pound woman) and that our table top might just flop off, they were very unsteady. The food was amazing, tender, well cooked, just overall I would love to eat that food every day, just not in that restaurant. Lighting and decor was very nice."

  • "Perfect spot for a nice meal without breaking to bank."

  • "Upon arriving, we (the two of us) were informed it would be at least an additional 15 minutes past our confirmed reservation time before we could be seated - and we were directed to the bar. It was obvious there was not enough staff, because our waitress, Christina I believe, who was excellent, was literally running back and forth as there was no busperson to fill the water or bus. The food took a long time to come out, which should not have been the case since there was a severely abbreviated Holiday menu. Someone other than our waitress brought out our food and what he brought out was wrong. The dessert (cheesecake) was frozen in the middle, but noone had time to check on us after it was delivered."

  • "We had reservations for 8 pm., we arrived early. We walked in the door ahead of another couple. When the hostess came to seat us the other couple was not please, and said something to her which we didn't hear. She apologized and stated they had already called their name several times. He stated they had not, the hostess told us to please take a seat and she would seat us next. By the time she came back it 8:15. At the table it took 15 minutes just for water. The menu of course was limited to 4 selections. The food delivery was timely, however the food was barely warm, the chicken was dry, and the potions were very small. They had floating candles with rose petals on the tables but they weren't lit. Thankful it wasn't our first visit."

  • "Had to wait over 15 minutes even with reservations, then found out they did not give us a head's up about the limited and marked up menu for Valentine's day. Waitress didn't say two words to us after being seated. Food was decent but definitely not worth $100.00 between two people without getting any drinks or extras."

  • "We really liked it under original mgmt. - great varied menu and friendly if often slow service. Have been back since restaurant changed hands; menu severely pared down, many favorites gone. Service was even worse. We decided to give Zin Room one more chance for Val's Day. When we made resv. we were NOT made aware there would be a Prix Fixe menu; but when seated (30 minutes after resv. time), we discovered that they were in fact only offering set menu with no option of ordering anything - even a salad - from regular menu. I understand restaurants choosing to do this on special occasion nights but they always inform diners when resv. is made. Our server very ambivalent when we expressed disappointment; we left without anyone saying a word."

  • "The food was outstanding, sea bass and filet for entrees. Service was very good, not overdone. Nice atmosphere sitting by the fireplace on a cold evening outside."

  • "Very nice restaurant. Food was excellent; we had the shrimp pasta dish and the Sea Bass dish. Both meals were delicious. The Sea Bass melted in your mouth! Service was very good. Our server was prompt, informative and friendly. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was semi romantic (awesome fireplace, softer lighting). We really enjoyed the jazz music being played though it was just a bit louder than i would have liked. There were a number of couples and a few small groups having dinner as well. Many, like us, appeared to be having dinner prior to attending the Omaha Symphony performance. Location is convenient. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would gladly dine there again."
