Waitress recommended asiago cheese appetizer - outstanding! However, I don't drink much, but decided to splurge and have a Long Island iced tea. Although the taste was good, it was very weak. I mentioned it to the waitress, asked her to order another, but to tell the bartender it was weak. Second was the same. Don't waste your money on that drink. Zias went on our rotation for a restaurant we will frequent often. What was really nice was the fact that the music level was appropriate for the type of restaurant and low enough to allow conversation to be heard at our table. Nothing worse than not being able to hear your company with blaring rock and roll in the background. What a find!! Wish we had one closer to home! Food was fabulous; service very attentive. We were stuffed but were tempted by the desserts and opted to take them back to our hotel. What a surprise, when our server brought the desserts all bagged up and said, "The manager was disappointed by the appearance of the desserts. There's nothing wrong with them, they're still good, they just don't look as nice as they would if served here .... so they are on the house." Decided it was easier to visit with mom if we were't stuck in the kitchen cooking. So we let Zia's do it for us!!! We had a 4 pm reservation and our table was ready right when we got there. The food was excellent and we enoyed a picher of Sangria!!! Our mom had a really nice Mothers Day. They loved the ambiance and atmosphere. Food was pleasing and flavorful without being salty, which was their concern. Menu options were plentiful. Service started off wonderful, but as soon as a few more guests arrived it declined more than expected, especially as I made a reservation.
It was a nice place for the occasion, but likely would not go regularly as service declined as the meals went on..5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat nightIt was Mother's Day and our 7 th anniversary. We decided to take our sons with us (2 and 3 years old). I was not sure how it would go, but the staff was very good with the boys, food came out quickly, food was good and when my son broke a glass they cleaned it up quickly without making a big deal about it. My only complaint is that I requested a table by the window when I made our reservations, so we could see the river and they did not meet that request. We had to wait a long time for our salads to arrive and were told to anticipate they may arrive after our main course. We had to ask repeatedly for items (I.e. three times or more for refills on our soda or for extra dressing). The kitchen staff were friendly and had a moment to chat as they pulled pizzas from the ovens and prepared salads - something interesting to watch along with the sports on screens. There was a pizza special for groups. The dining area was reasonably quiet and comfortable with a great view of the river including lights at night. The Italian decor included bookshelves!
