great food, great service. was disappointed that one of the wait staff stole my wallet. Management was confident that the surveillance video captured the thief, a day passed, they never called me back, I had a lot of trouble reaching the manager, when I finally did, they told me they saw nothing on the video......just feel like someone is not telling the truth.

The "small portions" selection is large and diverse and if you are with at least one other companion, it's a great place to share! Bigger group, even more opportunity to try more dishes! The restaurant was right on time with our reservation and spending some time at the bar was not a problem, with the wide variety of drink options.

The flavors in the chicken empanada appetizer were delightful. The short ribs were very, very good and the lamb chops were the best I had ever had! The white sangria however, was disappointing.

Zengo has a great menu with variously-sized dishes for all tastes. Every cocktail I tried was perfectly balanced, delivery of the food was well-timed, and the restaurant had a great Friday-night vibe without being too crowded. I've also been here for brunch, which is a dynamite experience!

Went on a Friday night at 6:15. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Very busy. a little bit too noisy for my taste. Use the valet parking. Went over the 2 hour limit on parking and got a $25 parking ticket. Been to Zengo many times. Food, service, and vibrancy is always consistently good.

My wife and I went for our 10 year anniversary, wanting to try something new. We heard from a friend that this was a test kitchen environment and the food was good. The staff and food was pretty good. For similar food we have had elsewhere that was just as good, if not better was about twice the price. For 2 drinks, appetizer and 2 entrees (which doesn't include a side) was almost $150 after all was said and done. I didn't feel we ordered anything extravagant, black cod and lamb chops. Good food and service but way overpriced. Won't be coming back anytime soon with those kind of prices.

We mentioned that it was our anniversary when we entered and the lovely hostess provided us with a special table and stated that she would let our server know. Water was poured immediately...and then the experience went down hill. Our waitress did not appear for quite some time, was very rushed but we did order an appetizer and drinks. The drinks did not arrive until after we finished the appetizer at which time we ordered our food. We waited a long time but it was delicious when it finally arrived. It took a long time to get our bill and inside the bill was $40.00. We tried to attract the attention of the waitress so we could let her know, and when she did return, she pulled them out of my husbands hand, turned, and left. We won't return.

The food, wine, and atmosphere was good. The service was lackluster but that seems to be the trend in Denver. There was nobody there to greet us when we walked in but a line of people. None of the staff seemed to have any urgency which is troubling when you wait 10 mins for a glass of wine. I would go again for the food and the wine list has some of my favorite regions represented. But go somewhere else for a special occasion.

We had a nice time at Zengo but the food was not as great as expected in that it came out fast and had good flavors but was nothing to write home about. Our server was fairly lack luster and seemed to have had a long day. The pisco sour was not very authentic and both drinks were very light on in terms of alcohol content. I would not race back to this restaurant. The host was lovely and friendly and I am sure its a great place but I was just not overly impressed given the reviews.

We eat out a lot like New Yorkers, so here's out take. It's a chain but has some interesting, unique food. XO edamame a must. New steak item is much better than the old one. Less than passionate wait staff again but this was the worst of the times we've been there. Service was terribly slow this time. My wife ordered the TK shrimp item and never got it because it was out of stock. Waiter forgot one of the drinks ordered. Also the room was ungodly hot and stuffy (unlike the other times we'd been there) which made the wait for the service that much more gruesome. Probably will be a while before we try again.

I ask the hostess if there were any tables outside in the shade or part shade and she said there was one left. The tattooed lady who came to seat us said that all the tables were in the blazing sun and we should not sit outside, so we got a small table inside. As soon as we were seated, I looked out the window and saw the table in the shade. I got up to ask if we could move to it, but the tattooed lady was seating the next couple there. Then we ordered a mojito but it tasted like cucumber water with mint and little to no alcohol. Then we ordered two courses. The food is spicy so if you don't like spicy food then this is not your place. We ordered our entrees 10 minutes before the table next to us and our food came 15 minutes after theirs.

I have eaten at Zengo many times and have had mixed experiences. Service: Friday night's was attentive and excellent. My last visit ended with a service complaint to management. Food: The sushi rolls are just ok. We had the guacamole/crab appetizer which was overly salty and nothing special. Both the chicken empanadas and the miso cod were fantastic. The fried plantains were perfectly cooked and caramelized, but the sweet sauce was overkill. Dessert was tasty but forgettable. In sum, and uneven menu that is best navigated by regulars who can zero in on favorites.

We had a date night here, it was a very cool vibe - loved the ambiance for a funky Friday night, but it was so open and tables so close together that there was no privacy for us to really talk without the neighboring tables and seats hearing us. We went during happy hour to take advantage of the great drinks, but apparently happy hour is only offered on patio and at the bar, that was disappointing and very unusual. The cocktails were delicious as well as the food - we enjoyed the uniqueness of the food selection - something we would never make at home!

The brunch here was quite good, with unique dishes like chorizo pork buns, bacon fried rice, and various sushi rolls. However, each dish only comes with a couple of servings or so, so it can be a bit of pain to have to constantly reorder dishes so that there is enough for everyone. I recommend when you sit down, put in an order for several of each dish that you want, that way you don't have to chase down the waiter every time.

Zengo has been one of my favorite places in Denver for a few years now. We have a few favorites on the menu, and they always have rotating "test kitchen" items that you can try as well. We can't get enough of Zengo. The food is so unique and has the most creative combinations of flavors and ingredients. It's an Asian/Latin fusion, but there's so much more than that on the menu. The XO Edamame and Miso soup (forget what you think miso soup should be) are still our favorites. We love skipping the entrees and ordering lots of "appetizers" so we can try a little of everything. Greg is easily the best waiter in Denver. Great attitude and fun sense of humor, plus a perfect track record of recommendations. The rest of the staff are also top notch.

Alyssa, the bartender, not only is efficient, personable, and makes a good drink, she remembered us, what we ordered during our last visit to Zengo and what we liked. Enjoyed our meal. Shared plates of empanadas, potstickers (not my favorite but my date liked them), zengo fried rice and the brussel sprouts! Unfortunately, we waited much too long for our dessert (the cheesecake), which was supposed to have star anise ice cream on the top but instead it was vanilla bean (confirmed "somewhat" by our server). It obviously sat in the window too long because the plate was a soupy mess of half-melted ice cream. The restaurant DESPERATELY needs to invest in some more spoons. Our server brought us forks and admitted to not finding spoons. Didn't bother ever to find any and bring to us.

Zengo isn't the hotspot it used t be, but the food was still good and our server was great. The price adds up quickly when ordering multiple small bites. The sushi rolls were very good. We had the Angry Zengo and Volcano rolls. Great spicy edamame, but the wonton tacos were disappointing. The black cod was very good, but unfortunately not that hot when we received it. We sat by the window which was nice as it overlooked the park entrance. Overall good experience.
