Zambri's is a beautiful, modern Italian restaurant with lots of big window space, where people can be seen. It's cool. Overall great food and service. A few minor observations. Great grilled bread to start with a small dish of olives. Would be better to provide olive oil and vinegar as well - maybe big wandering flasks. Charging for oil and vinegar isn't cool. Tasty Caesar salad dressing with a nice touch to add garbanzo beans and olives. Greens could have been fresher, and as a result the salad was a bit drab. One of the specials was a dish of papardelle with lamb ragout and bits of porc. It was delicious. The waiter was friendly and attentive, and really seemed to like her job - wish she had prepared the caesar salad too.

Great overall experience, food was excellent, service was a little lacking with only 2 servers and a full restaurant even on a Tuesday night, waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order, and close to 30 minutes for our bill with empty drinks. The table that was seated next to us but was seated 5 minutes after we had arrived, received their drink order before anyone had even approached our table. But the overall atmosphere was enjoyable, would try it again, maybe for lunch or at a slower time.

The chefs must have forgotten that they are in a service industry. They will not accommodate special request. Swapping vegetables between dishes is not possible. They may delete something for no charge but will charge you full price for any additions. They brag that they are "Certified Italian" but never mention by who. Seems to me a marketing ploy. Pork tenderloin was char grilled and way over cooked. Leathery and chewy. Tomatoes and cauliflower puree is cauliflower with about 10 drops of tomato juice. Bread was not refilled. Pasta did not have enough sauce.

As always, the food at Zambri's was excellent, and the service attentive. I enjoy the restaurant more each time I go, and love trying new entrees. It has a relaxed atmosphere--the kind of place you can dress up for (if you are so inclined) or go casual. A wonderful spot for long weekend lunches or a special dinner. Highly recommended.

The food, service and atmosphere at Zambris are beautiful. However, short of eating pizza or appIes, the only dish on the menu for vegetarians was pasta with peas and Gorgonzola cream. It was tasty but a few bites in I came to the conclusion that it is really only glorified mac 'n cheese. With a chef like that they can do better. Looking forward to more vegetarian options!

While we know, from previous experience, that Peter Zambri is a top notch chef, alas most of our meal was ho hum! The appetizers were spectacular, but the gnocchi were pedestrian and the orange marsala sauce on the duck was aggressively sweet, drowning the flavour of the perfectly cooked duck. Also the numerous hard surfaces amplified the noise level to the point my husband and I had to shout at each other to converse, although we have been married for nearly 30 years, we still enjoy talking to each other during meals.

Came back for a second try. I'd requested a quiet table in my online reservation & got the quietest table in the place! Wanted to try their home made pasta. Was told the spaghetti had green peppers which actually were jalepenos. Dish was a bit dry, very nice flavour but way too hot for my taste. Waitress offered another pasta dish which was ok. Spouse had the scallop dish wish he rated a 7 out of 10. Wine list has very dry whites & last visit I asked what they had on the less dry & sweeter side. There wasn't anything then but on this visit the waitress suggested the moscato which was on the dessert wine list that I hadn't seen. It was quite nice but a bit too sweet. Bread needs some dipping or spread than just a bowl of olives. Boring food

Every thing was great here. We loved the menu choices. Dessert was excellent. Wine list was excellent. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was that my steak was way over done. I ordered medium rare and it came well done. Lucky it was tenderloin so it was still edible. If it had been some other cut I would have sent it back. A bit surprising at a restaurant of this caliber to get the steak so wrong. I wonder if the server miss heard me.

Had lunch at Zambri's with three friends the other day. Made a reservation for two through Open Table earlier in the week. Plans changed and they had no problem making it a foursome with only one hour's notice. I had a pizza. The crust was thin and crispy - Neapolitan style. Toppings were tasty and the portion generous. For me, it was second only to Wolfgang Puck's at the Crystals in Las Vegas, for that style of pizza. My guests had sandwiches or pasta which also looked delicious. A great place for lunch - nice décor, lots of tables and not too loud. However, earlier in the year we had dinner with a group of twenty and the food was superb - everyone in the party agreed! Definitely the best meal I've had in Victoria.

Zambri's has quickly became my new Friday night dining place. This visit was just as superb as the rest except for the fact that, despite having a reservation, we were sat in the alcove next to a large bridal party that was quite loud. Our experience was still fantastic and my son was able to see what I have been raving about recently, but next time a better suited seat would be appreciated. We could barely hear each other speaking from across our small table due to the noise from the large party beside us. Given we called ahead and there was other room in the restaurant, there could have been a more suitable place to seat us. Otherwise, stupendous as usual! Thanks Zambri's! Excellent service, amazing food.

We've been to Zambri's 5 times now and it is one of our favourite places. The last 2 visits had us waiting for our wine both times, with our hot food in front of us; it's very important to us to have our wine with the meal prior to eating. We had to remind the wait staff that we had ordered it. The manager was very prompt, opening the wine and apologizing. He later offered a complimentary dessert. He kept our glasses full and was watchful, which we appreciated. Our waiter also apologized, genuinally; it was obvious that she was run off her feet, with many other tables to attend to. It might be helpful if there were more support staff to help with filling water glasses, or clearing tables, to leave her time to attend to other matters.

Zambri's is our neighbourhood local and damn are we lucky. We always leave Zambri's happy. The food is incredible and there is always something new to try. The cocktail list is genuinely original, and the wines never disappoint. Perhaps most importantly when you want to sit down with six friends for a three hour dinner on a Friday night; the service is always impeccable. Beyond this, Zambri's is actually priced fairly. I don't feel like I'm being gauged just because I'm eating downtown in a tourist town. This means that I'm happy to dine here often and leave generous gratuities.
