While it's a Kabob house, they're known best for their rotisserie chicken, for good reason. It's fantastic. A bit pricey, but very good nonetheless. Even leftovers (white meat breast) taken home and reheated in the microwave still came out juicy and delicious. Fantastic. Downside is they do run out. This is our second visit to the restaurant. The first was for dinner, and they had no more chicken. This time we went for lunch - plenty on hand.
Special rice casserole dish is also great. Chicken liver appetizer is also very tasty, though is a large dish, and probably suited best for 3 or more people.

Our reservation was early (6:30), but they had already run out of their famous chicken. That was disappointing, but we made do with lamb sis kebab & chicken shawerma platters along with side dishes of grilled veggies and falafel with tahini sauce. The rice that accompanies everything was outstanding as was the shawerma. Everything else was tasty but not special. There were only two wait-people, & much of the time one of them was busy with customers picking up take-out orders. We had to wait a very long time for servers to cycle round to our table even when we turned on a supposed "call light." I would go back for the shawerma and the rice, and I still want to try the famous chicken, but maybe next time we'll try takeout.

Baba Ganouj was excellent, Chicken Shawarma was very tasty and a bit different than others I've tried. Was disappointed with small portion size of entrees. Dolmas tasted like the came out of a can.

LOcated on the border between Berkeley and Albany, this unassuming building hosts a wonderful restaurant of outstanding quality. Greeted with steaming cups of tea on a chilly day, our party enjoyed a wide selection of their Middle Eastern cuisine. The menu was varied enough so that everyone, including one vegetarian diner, could find something to tempt them. The meat dishes were cooked just right, not overdone as one finds in so many places. The chicken shwarma was deliciously spiced and balanced well with the other ingredients to great result. The service was attentive -- they have little signal cubes on each table (which is a bit weird but effective) and they honored their "bottomless pita" policy cheerfully. We plan to return.
