The decor is clean and contemporary. The food is delicious with one caveat. Almost everything on the menu has a good bit of spicy heat to it. Even the dishes marked as mild. On both occasiopns when we've eaten at Zaika my other half (who truthfully has no capacity for spicy food) found his meal too spicy for him to eat. On both occasions the waiter didn't hesitatate at all to have something prepared off menu that he found delicious. This is I think emblematic of the all around excellence of the service at Zaika.
I heartily recommend this great eatery only a couple of blocks from the Clarendon Metro station on the Orange line.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat patioWe dined outside which was lovely. The food is quite good - not the best Indian I've had, but good. Prices are a bit higher than you'd expect but not totally unreasonable. Great service. If you're going on the weekend, definitely make a reservation. Service was quick and attentive, and the food was delicious. Our server was good about making mild menu suggestions fit for kids who do not like spicy food. There are many Indian restaurants but not many that are exceptionally good and we rated Tandori as one of the best in the area. We have found from experience when a restaurant that is really good changes hands it rarely maintains the same standards and quality of food. The food is delicious - their crispy spinach app. rivals that of the downtown restaurants. Bonus, we were able to bring in an outside dessert without any problem. However, on 12/24/12, we had to ask twice for our waiter, as he was nowhere to be found.
