YucaOverall ExperienceThe overall experience was fantastic. My family went to celebrate Mother's Day for Dinner and we were blown away with the delectable cuisine and the level of service. Our server Hermes was very knowledgeable and his suggestions were well received. I had a plantain crusted mahi mahi which was delicious and tender. My father had the mothers day special which included an appetizer, entree and dessert for $38 (the entree featured a variety of meats and perfect for sampling) Hermes and the manager were attentive and would pass by the table every so often to check on us. working in the luxury hotel business, you have a certain service level that you expect from other hotels and restaurants and this is certainly one venue you want to visit!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurant... We sat outside and tried several of the authentic Cuban dishes on the menu. Service was excellent. Food was good- portions are moderate. The only disappointment was that we purposely reserved dinner at a time when they were supposed tone offering salsa lessons. Everything we tasted was incredible. Empandas with a kicking side sauce and the best hummus i have ever tasted for appetizers. Paella for the main dish was mouthwatering and a tres leches dessert that made me want seconds. Excellent wine selection... I was researching places to eat that were not going to be 100 dollar a plate prices. Or even 50 a plate prices. I found Yuca, the reveiws were great, and it was not going to break the bank.So we arrive fro a reservation, a tad early, but were seated. It was by no means empty, but not packed. It was about 7:00. So, we were greated quickly, and teh waitor told us that if we had any questions, he was there for us.
The food, was absolutely outstanding. I had the paella nad my outher half orded the skirt steak, and fried calamari which is toppped with peppers and onions and a chili dipping sauce. Everything was well prepared except for the grilled octopus, which was undercooked and rubbery.
The wine list was varied and bottles started at about $35.
There were three options for dining: upstairs with live music, downstairs in the main dining room, or outside on Lincoln Road mall. Outside, is probably the most moderate option in terms of noise.

This time she wanted us to try Yuca, a restaurant that defines itself like this on their web site: "YUCA, an acronym for Young Urban Cuban-Americans, is widely known as being South Florida's original upscale Cuban restaurant featuring Innovative Nuevo Latino Cuisine or as the locals call it "Nuevo Latino."
Wow, right on! We tried five different dishes, and all were from very good to great. A blend of spices and flavors that are truly unique.
