Dinner there never seems to disappoint. The brussel sprout dish was over the top. Every entree we had stood out primarily because they really know about sauces. I had a salmon dish that melted in my mouth. The presentation is exquisite and you never feel rushed. There have been nights where the food was just okay, the portions meager. Saturday is always a busy night and more taxing for the kitchen and the wait staff. And we were going to see a show and taking friends. So it was with mixed feelings that I made a reservation. Portions have been so small that the price soars to cope with Japanese tapas.
My latest visit showed an immense improvement in quality and quantity. The salmon was fresh and wild. A nice crust and generous portion beautifully prepared. The Hamachi with mangos, tender, sweet and beautifully balanced. The sake flight was fun and nicely chosen. My friends told me the food was great, when I looked at the menu on line I wasn't that impressed. (I do not eat sushi.) But after eating there I am a big fan. Everything was so tastey. Great, fresh sashimi, sushi and rolls, a wonderful cedar plank/grilled salmon teriyaki. All plated and presented beautifully - the dinner far exceeded our expectations. Japanese food prepared and served like the fine restaurants of years gone by. It seems that today, many show venues/lounges use their restaurant as a secondary add-on to the entertainment portion of the venue not-so for this place. Definitely go for the shows... but reserve early and have a top-notch Japanese dinner as well. The perfect musical ambiance; personal, intimate seating for close contact with the artists while also offering the potential for a sound explosion with "rockers" when necessary; the sound/venure does accommodate for either tastes. It could be an acoustic offering or a rock out session, Yoshi's delivers the ideal atmosphere to enjoy your favorite artist.

Drinks were quite good at the tables; service reasonably prompt.

Our first experience at this restaurant was excellent. We both shared a nice bottle of rosé, and soft shell crab. My boyfriend enjoyed two sushi selections highly recommended by our waiter. We checked in on Yelp and received a free appetizer. Score! What we enjoyed most is that we were able to bring our bottle of wine with us and still enjoy the comedy show. Positive energy with a welcoming vibe. Front desk ensured I had purchased the correct tickets for proper dine seating and advised that he would make sure we get the best house seats that night. Without hesitation, we were seated as starte our great experience. Waitress was great, food menu had great options along with drink menu. Our food came out at a great time both our wait from the time we got in the door to our concert seats was under an hour. If you know the place, an excellent dinner can be followed by an exceptional performance (well, usually) in a seat of your choosing (more or less). Parking is right next door and as you enter for your dinner reservation, you're asked if you will be attending the show. The waiter shows you to your table and then says that they will reserve your table for the show.

In addition an offering of entrée dishes not found in Japan. My wife ordered the lamb chops and they were excellent. Teriyaki chicken, salmon looked great. The ribeye was tempting but pricey, $29. Ala carte, soups and salads extra. We had a bottle of wine and split the check for four-with 20% tip it was $300 total. I made reservations here for the purpose of securing a good seat for the music in the venue. We got seated in a nice comfy booth for an overall great evening. The entire experience was amazing! Our meals were freshly prepared and arrived quickly, and the service was exceptional. When I couldn't decide which red wine I'd order, my server offered me a taste of both, and it was such a big help! The appetizers and entrees were so delicious, and the sauces and reductions were outstanding.
My son is a railroad fan, and we had front row seats to view the Amtrak trains during our meal, as the tracks ran right next to Yoshi's. If you show your server your tickets, they'll reserve seats for you ahead of time while you dine. Unbelievably, they were front row seats for the jazz concert! The only that I can maybe complaint or critize, is the price. It's very expensive. Is the most expensive dinner that we ever had in the USA. $100 dinner and $130 ticked for Chick Corea it's a high amount. Even though, we've enjoy dinner and show, but are not becoming to be frecuent guests.

The restaurant is well above average with a good range of sushi and sashimi choices. We had a very helpful server who made some good suggestions and ensured our sake was cold as we requested.
