Once in the dining area, everything was marvelous. The service, the food, you name it. I was disapointed that some of the traditional Indonesian fare was not on the menu for Valentine's day. Nonetheless, there was a good selection. The only drawback was parking that evening. I know it was Valentine's Day and everyone was out, but it could have been made a little simpler and use friendly.

The experience was memorable - staff was very professional and appeared at appropriate times with food and extras and the chef and management seemed sincerely interested in our experience. The food was excellent and very different than seen at other restaurants. I would highly recommend this for any special occasion.

My husband and I eat out less than we used to, so when we go out to dine we want it all, and Yonos gave us that. The food was superb from appitizer to entree to dessert The wine was excellent, the wine list extensive, the staff VERY professional. If you want the finest dining in the Capital District please go to Yonos.

Food, wine and staff were all top notch. The canned music was OK and the live duo was exellent. However, the sound level of all the music was too loud for easy conversation - this despite moving our chairs closer to each other. This made an otherwise perfect experience a little less so. We'll return nevertheless.

Spent New Year's Eve experiencing Yon's Grand Tasting Menu with the one I love. What an amazing experience. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and absoluting delicious. The service was attentive and courteous. The wine list expansive. I would definitely recommend Yono's to anyone who truly appreciates fine dining. Although if you plan to attend a grand tasting at Yono's, do not eat for about three days before you go. When the dinner finally ended, we wondered where the cart was to roll us out of the restaurant. Yono himself graced the dining room with his presence twice during the dinner. He is a wonderful host, very warm and humble. Overall, a wonderful gem in the heart of Albany. Go, relax and enjoy!

My boyfriend and I went to Yono's for New Year's Eve. The chef presented a nine course tasting menu. We also had the sommelier pair for each course, at a very reasonable price. The food was absolutely amazing. The Amuse Bouche was fun and started the meal off right. For the main courses I had Mushroom Risotto and Boef Coubre (an American Kobe Beef), he had Lamb Shank and the Beef. All were exceptional. The wine that was paired with each course was a perfect accompaniment. Yono's regular menus are available online and have many of the same foods. We love this restaurant and plan to return for many special occasions. The nine courses, wine pairing, live music, exceptional service, & fun cost us $300 for both...well worth the money!!

The food was really awful. The pasta for the Lobster ravioli was gummy and the lobster was chewy. The Chicken wrapped w/lobster dish my partner had was bland and the two didn't mesh. I wouldn't recommend them for dinner but I would recommend their bar next door. The dishes looked more appetizing.

The food and service were excellent. They made us feel special with their service. The owner came out to ask if everything was going well and said thank you as we left. The servers told us everything that was in the 4 course meal we ordered along with what wines were paired with it. I was even given a purse stool for my purse. It was not over the top though, were you felt uncomfortable about using the wrong fork or something. The food was outstanding and I would definitely go back again.

Yono's was the best food either my husband or I have eaten, ever. Each bite was worthy of savoring because rushing through the meal would be a waste of the outstanding flavors and cuisine that was placed before us. We can't say enough about how wonderful the food and entire experience was. The exceptional service and outstanding flavors made this our new favorite location for indulgence.

Dining at Yono's is an experience. The eclectic and Indonesian menu are wonderful. Great variety. The service is the best i have seen. They are set up in teams. Two waiters/waitresses to a table.Bread was served in slices by our waitress. Chef Yono came to our table to greet us and explained various menu items. We chose Yono's because neither of us had been there and I'd read some great reviews. We both got the Nasi Rames (which has samples of most of the Indonesian food), and all of it was fantastic! The peanut sauce on the chicken sate was great and the chicken was cooked perfectly. So many other places have a tendency to overcook chicken like this. The bakmi goreng was my favorite, and had all the traditional southeast Asian flavors I love. The babi kecap was my lady's favorite, and the sauce really made the dish. The daging rendang was very good also. This had the lemongrass/coconut milk flavor that I love the most about that region of the world. The waitstaff was very pleasant and never overbearing and the ambiance was charming.

IT WAS VERY BUSY FOR A TUESDAY NIGHT BUT THAT WAS BECAUSE THE STATE LEGISLATURE WAS IN THE CITY FOR A SPECIAL SESSION. WHEN THE DOORS TO THE BISTRO PORTION ARE OPENED IT GETS QUITE NOISY. THE WINE LIST HAS LESS OLDER BORDEAUX THAN LAST YEAR, BUT THAT IS NOT UNEXPECTED. THE SELECTION IS STILL GOOD.

My girlfriend and I went to Yono's for her birthday. It was by far the absolute nicest restaurant I have ever gone to in my entire life. The piano player and bassist certainly entertained in between dining. The meal was marvelous. My girlfriend attends the Culinary Institue of America and it blew her and I away. I had planned on asking her to marry me that night, and the restaurant served as the perfect setting for it. So I did. She told me it was the perfect night. I could never repay Yono's for such a memorable experience. I've decided to take her back every year on the same night, August first. Thank you to the entire staff at Yono's in Albany. I am indebted to you forever.

We were disappointed. Read so many good things, wanted to try something different, but not to our liking. First time trying Indonesian - got Nasi Rames. All food was lukewarm. Chicken in the noodles was dry, like leftovers. Bread was delicious. Pickled vegetables good, Satay good but not warm enough. Sauces were so heavy and overwhelming, you couldn't taste the meat. Perhaps we would have liked the continental cuisine better. The food on the plate reminded me of reheated leftovers - nothing seemed freshly prepared, hot, crisp, and we were 1st diners of the night, no one there, lots of time to make it right. Waiter said we wouldn't need an appetizer or salad. He was wrong. We had lots of room for dessert. We wouldn't come again.

The food and wine were exceptional. I loved the menu choices. Yono's is one of the only places in the area that offers fresh, exotic cuisine. Everything was cooked to perfection and served with warmth and the utmost attention to detail. When I asked for a moderately priced bottle of wine, we received an exceptional bottle in that price range. The Capital Region is better served to have such an elegant dining option. Kudos to the chef, waitstaff and proprietors for a job well done! My only suggestion for change is to incorporate more locally produced items to support local growers and reduce energy consumption. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

One of us had the Indonesian sampler plate, which was interesting and good. The other ordered the chicken wrapped lobster tail which was very disapointing; dry and very bland. The fois gras appetizer was excellent. The music and the service was very good. Perhaps because there were not many costumers at that time, we were seated in the smaller first room (which was full of diners) and so were not really able to appreciate the decor or ambience (?) of the main dining room. Again, this may have been due to an attempt to "group up" the few diners for more conviviality, but it also made us feel that we were stuck in the anteroom, behind the screen!

We were entertaining out of town guests and wanted the best Albanay has to offer - everyone came away impressed. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating. Food was terrific. I had the wild boar special with red beet risotto which was the tastiest dish at the table. We were never rushed, the dinner was well paced, and we had an enjoyable evening. The room is quite elegent and there was a good combo providing soft, never overpowering, background music. The room was surprisingly quiet coming in from the noise of the bar outside. Thank you Yono's for providing us a most pleasant dining experience and evening.

In a relatively empty dining room we were set right next to a rather loud piano and bass duo. Noise from the bar outside the restaurant was constant and staff made little effort to keep it out by closing the doors to dining room. Wife ordered a ceasar salad ($8 dollars and rather small)... half the lettuce was brown! Lobster Bisque, Duck in an oil and coconut Curry sauce, and NY Strip were all passable but certainly nothing to write home about... Service was poor, very poor.

Lovely choice for 30th wedding anniversary dinner. Although we are longtime customers, this was our first experience with the tasting menu and, in retrospect, we would have done better with some of our older, less challenging favorites. However, service was attentive as always, and staff did their best to make adjustments when they noticed we weren't enjoying the food. Having since become vegetarians, the current menu doesn't offer us enough diversity to justify a return trip now. However, we'll always have the highest regard for the Purnomos' artistry and their contributions to the community.
