A word from Yerba Buena Perry
Chef Partner Julian Medina and restaurant group YB & Co introduce Christopher Gilman and their newest Latin hot spot, YerbaBuena Perry. Located at One Perry Street in Manhattan's West Village. YerbaBuena Perry is a chic 55-seater that stirs up an era gone by-1950's Cuba. The restaurant features Julian Medina's reinterpreted Cocina Latina cuisine complemented by signature cocktails, many made with Yerba Buena, a latin mint.

YerbaBuena Perry transports guests from the West Village to an exclusive club in Havana with a feel that is retro yet chic and sophisticated. Designer Welly Lai outfitted the space with floral wall coverings in sea foam hues and leather banquettes, setting a mood of elegance. The restaurant's focal point is an expansive hand-carved bar with an Italian marble top.

Julian Medina's cusine evokes Peru, Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, México and Spain. Yerba Buena Perry's menu includes Ceviches, Tacos, and Parrillada, an Argentine mixed Grill.

Diner Reviews
  • "Yerba Buena is hands down amazing. Their cocktails are all made with fresh fruit juice and absolutely delicious, the food is fit for foodies (latino inspired, healthy, and reasonable portions), and the prices are beyond reasonable. Add to that a charming decor and great staff, and you have yourself a fantastic spot. I'd go back anytime!"

  • "Food and drinks were good for the most part. The starters (guacamole, croquetas) and desserts (churros) were actually better than some entrees (I was somewhat disappointed with the arepas which were 2 very small sandwiches with not much egg or chicken inside). Drink deal was worth it as our server was good about refilling glasses frequently. However, he was not very helpful or engaging and seemed to want to rush us out as quickly as possible. He actually put the check on the table without asking if we wanted dessert! We had to ask him for it and then he had to go back and print out another check."

  • "Great food (especially the fish tacos), great staff, great ambience, all around good time. A bit pricy, but worth it."

  • "amazing food and customer service. Our party was not seated until half an hour after our reservation time, as the party before us would not leave and the owner/manager apologized profusely and sent us complimentary guacamole and champagne. the thought alone was enough to make up for the delay but the guacamole also happened to be delicious. the food was wondeful - highly recommend the trio of fries, brussel sprouts and arepas. but everything I sampled was amazing. The vibe is young, fun, trendy and energetic. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to friends. Thank you YB!"

  • "The food was amazing! Paella for two was delicious and the Short ribs were amazing. The blackberry gimlet, excellent. Rebecca out waitress and Nicolas the Manager were super friendly and attentive. Would absolutely go back or recommend to friends."

  • "Delicious, flavorful food plus tantalizing cocktails served by an eager, attentive staff in an intimate setting! Highly recommended!"

  • "I am always surprised when restaurants put out bland and flavorless food out during restaurant week. Isn't the whole point to introduce new diners to your great food, well at Yerba Buena that was clearly not the case. My starter which was the shrimp empanadas with Machengo cheese was so bland and flavorless I felt I was eating at an old folks home. I love Machengo and I love shrimp, but I could taste neither in this doughy mess. My entree was the skirt steak which although it looked delicious was again lacking any seasoning, thank god for the herbs and spices on the plate, it help, but clearly they must realize that meat needs a little salt on it! The cheese flan was tasty and went really well with the pineapple, but that was it."

  • "Fantastic food, friendly service. The restaurant is great with handling food allergies too."

  • "Yerba Buena has a great atmosphere. The crowd is lively and the bar is lined with people. The tables are a bit close to one another but that did not bother me. Great place for a first date, or to catch up with old friends. The servers were helpful and made sure customers were all attended to. Good size portions and great menu variety."

  • "Had one of the best dinners in recent memory at Yerba Buena. The staff was perfectly attentive, and the food was delectable. No regret moving going here; and we will be back for sure."

  • "The food is always great, but the noise level is so loud that it makes it difficult to have a conversation with the person across from you. My husband will not go back and I think we will stick to their sister restaurant, Toloache."

  • "The food was great. Waiter spilled all the juice from the plates on our coats without an apology or offer to clean up. Credit card machine was down and we were asked if we were in a rush. We asked for an estimated time and he said no idea. After 40 minutes we were able to pay but many others were stuck longer. No apologies or acknowledgement that this was a poor experience."

  • "Food was very good and attentive service. Generous servings and consistently good - the steak, tuna tatare and flan dessert. My wife had the cod that was very tasty too We were on a two person table that was sandwitched between two other similar tables. A bit hard to carry a conversation"

  • "Went here with a group of colleagues for restaurant week and it was great. The cocktails (for happy hour prices) were amazing. The 3 way fries (watermelon, hearts of palm, and avocado with chipotle mayo) were incredible. The three course restaurant week meal was perfection."

  • "YBP is a neighborhood Nuevo Latino mainstay (along with Baracca). A creative menu that lures you back - to try something new or order an old favorite. Tonight the empanada's were so light and crispy - as a starter, they could have easily "weighed" down the entire meal - but they did not. The Maitre D's (Nick) table visit was warm, sincere and re-inviting. And we will come back."

  • "We consider ourselves lucky to have this gem of a restaurant in our neighborhood. At Yerba Buena Berry- every dish has that unique touch that says the talented chef cares. This time we returned especially for the Peruvian standout dish called Parihuela, a seafood stew that is superb. The friendly and helpful wait staff, the inventive cocktails (half price before 7PM) and the intriguing Latino menu make this our favorite restaurant in Manhattan."

  • "Loved it. I liked the atmosphere, the service, and the food. I had the seafood stew, which was perfectly spiced, delicious, with big portions. Their manager was helpful and friendly, and the wait staff immediately noticed I had a bag and offered to check it for me. My friend had a blackberry gimlet to drink, which was quite tasty. I also liked that I could hear in there - the noise level was quite comfortable. I'm definitely going back."

  • "I've been meaning to check this place out, and it was great choice that I finally decided to go. The food and service were great. The bottomless drinks for an hour was definitely a plus. The sangria was a perfect. My favorite dish ordered was the "pan dulce". A must-try! Also, the steak was paired with an egg, plantains, and rice! Truly amazing plate. The trio of fries is an unexpectedly amazing side. I would definitely come back solely on the food!"

  • "Very loud. Make sure to have a reservation. Food is good even though a tad over priced. Having different drink options is cool, even though the actual drinks are decent at best. Try for a table away from the door because it is constantly open so if it is winter you will freeze while eatting."

  • "The food and drinks at Yerba Buena were amazing, as always! Great brunch spot. Our server, Marta, was extremely friendly! Fun environment for a brunch, but definitely not the place if looking for a quiet date spot. Will return soon!"

  • "A friend recommended Yerba Buena for brunch and it didn't disappoint. After waiting 5 min past our reservation time (due to a large group taking their time) they offered us drinks at the bar to get started while we waited. The staff was very attentive and courteous and food had a unique flair and was delicious. Look forward to returning in the near future!"

  • "We made an early reservation so we could catch a show later. They weren't ready for dinner service but we were so taken with the atmosphere and yummy cocktails (blackberry gimlet!) that we were quite happy to sit and sip for a while. We started with amazing tuna ceviche. We ordered the salmon and beef short ribs. One word: brilliant! Both were perfectly cooked - I had the salmon, medium rare, served with brussels sprouts and know this dish will go down in my book as one of my most memorable restaurant dishes! We ended our meal with coffee (cappuccino machine was broken?) and mocha cake. Yum. Our server was amazing and treated us like regulars even though this was our first visit. Thank you for a memorable evening, YBP!! Until next time!"

  • "I just love this place for their brunch and great all you can drink hour they have for $15! It's very loud in there but that's what you expect for a trendy WV lunch place. 3rd time here and will be back!"

  • "Went for a random birthday brunch. Was pleasantly surprised. The waiter was amazing- very adroit at knowing the menu and on giving suggestions. Unlimited cocktails for an hour and a half was great, with a good selection of drinks to choose from. They also don't mind you changing your drink during the visit. One guest started with a Bloody Maria then switched to the Pisco Guava. Food was great quality, but a litte conservative with the flavoring. Be prepared for a packed house and a high noise level, but it is still totally worth the trip :)"

  • "My bf and i went to this place and LOVED the food! I had the eggs benedict on top of the cachapas and it was absolutely delicious. Their brunch menu had a lot of interesting options. The food seemed like Latin American with a fun twist. We also had the unlimited cocktails for an hour and it was worth it ;). Will def go back."

  • "Food was better than I expected! Got the guac as a starter to share and it was delicious. My friend and I also got the bottomless brunch cocktails for $15 for one hour. Drinks were decent, strong enough but there were a couple of times when we had to call for a server to refill our glasses. A good thing about the bottomless cocktails was that we can switch our drink up. We weren't stuck with the same drink for the meal. Overall, I would reccommend but not sure if I would come back. It was a bit pricey, tip and tax included. I would expect to pay that much for dinner, not brunch."

  • "Went for brunch and though I've heard great things about dinner, I was unimpressed with brunch. The bottomless drink menu was varied, but most of them were mediocre. Food was salty and greasy for me (and I'm a fan of salt). I would go back if I were with a group, but not in a hurry."

  • "I went to Yerba Buena Perry with two friends - all three of us picky eaters - and really enjoyed it. I had a chupa de mariscos (seafood soup) that was out of this world. It was perfect for rainy cold sunday afternoon nourishment. We started with a trio of fries (avocado, watermelon, and hearts of palm with two special sauces - UMMM!), and a gaucamole that combined ingredients in an equally innovative way. I can honestly say that each dish was uniquely new to me - a small adventure in pleasing the palate. For those who avoid spicy food: 'there be spices'. The final cost - including 1 hour of unlimited brunch cocktails - was right in our sweet spot too. If you're on the fence, check it out. Try something truly new for a change."

  • "Came here for my 21st bday famy brunch and i was well taken care of by the staff!! The drinks were great amd the unlimited cocktails and meals were a great deal, but the portion size of the tacos and arepas are SMALL!! My cubano was great and a huge portion. The staff our waiter Rebecca and i think the manager Nick were really nice and accomodating! I got free shots and dessert!! It was a great brunch"

  • "Yes, you must have the watermelon fries (trust me!), and every bite we took (of everything else) was great too. The drink to have is the Sun-dia, and the paella (is still too much for two people) and short ribs are outstanding."

  • "I went there for brunch and the food was great. The waiter provided great customer service and the ambiance was great. I just wished that they served yuca Frita for brunch also instead of only for dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

  • "Really enjoyed every single forkful or every item we ordered. Highly recommend the tuna tartar taquitos & empanadas as starters, and the short rib & black cod entrees, and you MUST order the watermelon fries (don't ask, just order & enjoy)"

  • "The place was great but the price was unexpectedly high compared to food quantity. Anyway the food was tasty but not so good for remember it"

  • "I dined here with a friend a couple weeks ago and fell in love. I enjoyed the ambiance, friendly service, and most importantly, THE FOOD. For starters, I recommend that everybody try the guacamole. It is delicious! I opted for the arroz con pollo for my main entree and was delighted. It's a fried rice but doesn't taste heavy at all. All the flavors complimented each other beautifully. As the Friday night went on, the restaurant became more energetic (our reservation was at 7), so I would recommend coming at 8 if you like a lively crowd and during happy hour if you prefer dinner in a more laid back environment. Either way, there's a lot to like about it."

  • "I was warned that this little gem gets loud and sure enough, it lived up to its reputation. But the food was really good and I found it to be reasonably priced so I'm glad I went there."
