A word from Yerba Buena Perry
Chef Partner Julian Medina and restaurant group YB & Co introduce Christopher Gilman and their newest Latin hot spot, YerbaBuena Perry. Located at One Perry Street in Manhattan's West Village. YerbaBuena Perry is a chic 55-seater that stirs up an era gone by-1950's Cuba. The restaurant features Julian Medina's reinterpreted Cocina Latina cuisine complemented by signature cocktails, many made with Yerba Buena, a latin mint.

YerbaBuena Perry transports guests from the West Village to an exclusive club in Havana with a feel that is retro yet chic and sophisticated. Designer Welly Lai outfitted the space with floral wall coverings in sea foam hues and leather banquettes, setting a mood of elegance. The restaurant's focal point is an expansive hand-carved bar with an Italian marble top.

Julian Medina's cusine evokes Peru, Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, México and Spain. Yerba Buena Perry's menu includes Ceviches, Tacos, and Parrillada, an Argentine mixed Grill.

  • "Very nice place with good food but too loud. Would come again. Prices not bad."

  • "They flirt with you with their inventive cocktail menu, but you really come away falling in love with their food. Their ceviche and fish tacos are delicious and memorable. Our waitress was top notch, helpful and attentive. I will definitely bring my friends here."

  • "I recently took advantage of NY Restaurant Week at Yerba Buena Perry, and was very happy with the experience. The food was fantastic, the service perfect, and the host took special care to accommodate our young child. Highly recommended."

  • "The food was really good, the drinks not so much and It was too laud. Also, the waiter didn't offer dessert menu."

  • "The food was delicious- we tried the empanadas, fish tacos, beef short rib and quinoa kale dish- all excellent. Tried a couple specialty cocktails, I had the blackberry gimlet, it was also very nice. We also had the trio of fries, we thought it was just ok. The restaurant was quite dimly lit and we had to back to our car to grab our jackets, the A/C was really pumping. Am definitely looking forward to a return visit:)"

  • "loudness overwhelms food and service was less than efficient"

  • "The food and service was amazing, but we arrived a little late so things were kind of closing up before we got to finish."

  • "All I can say is WOW. Their food is AMAZING. My first time here I came for their unlimited brunch with a group of friends, my second time I took my mom to dinner. I had a great experience each time. Their wait staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Their restaurant week menu was delicious. Great for brunch, dinner, and happy hour. I would recommend making reservations because this place is popular and fills up fast. If you forget to book a spot, it's definitely worth the wait."

  • "The food is very average. The place is tiny. Of course they put me on a corner table with a lot of server foot traffic going by. One guy put his hand on my chair everytime he rounded the corner back to the kitchen. Too loud. Too small. Too average."

  • "The service at Yerba Buena was great! The drinks were fabulous. Everyone loved the food, but it was a little overpriced."

  • "I regretted not getting the restaurant week menu because I wanted more - but I had the Atun Ceviche and the fish tacos - they were incredible! The fish tacos had this great, flavorful coleslaw on it and it had a small kick. The fish was fried perfectly. The ceviche was tangy and delicious. Cocktails were incredible - each of my friends had a different one - all great. The Sandia drinks was incredibly fresh. We couldn't stop talking about how fresh everything tasted. At the end we had an after dinner small mojito and were given coupons for our next time. Really great service as well."

  • "I came here with 9 people for a birthday brunch. The food was great and the servers were amazing. Very attentive, our drinks were always full and checked in frequently. Great place for a big group brunch."

  • "At first we were worried about the food because we couldn't smell the flavor that we are so used when going to Latin restaurants, but I have to say we were impressed by what we ordered. Our appetizers/entrees/desserts were so full of the right ingredients and flavors that made our mouths more watery. We highly recommend this place. A bit tight but highly recommend it."

  • "The menu was perfect for Restaurant Week. Our Appetizers were very tasteful, Main Courses were perfect and desserts were eclectic! Wine list was very International and good."

  • "As always, our experience at Yerba Buena Perry was amazing. The food is out of this world and the staff is the BEST!! Every single item on the menu is out-of-this-world, especially the calamari, ceviches, croquettes, tacos.... I could go on and on. We can't wait to go back!!"

  • "However, the dining experience was adversely impacted by the decibel level. Could hardly hear the waitress and ourselves; conversation of any depth or value was impossible. Thankfully, the food occupied a good chunk of non-verbal time! Trio of fries consisted of lightly battered and fried wedges of hearts of palm, avocado and watermelon, with a spicy mayo and a smokey mate-flavored ketchup. Texture alone was intriguing, but the dips changed and enhanced the 'fries' as well. One of the highlights of the evening. We ordered RW menu, and the food was beautifully presented and cooked, obviously not suffering from lack of attention just because it was RW. Our waitress was awesome, everyone was generally friendly and professional."

  • "Very good food, friendly, eager to please staff. They were really accommodating to one member of our group who was stuck in traffic and arrived 45 minutes late.I couldn't be more pleased."

  • "Food was delicious. Sea Bass, tacos & ceviche were all excellent. Almond Quinoa Cake was yummy. Mango Panna Catta w/marshmallows was fun & innovative. Waiters picked up our dishes the moment we put down our forks."

  • "My friend and I came here for restaurant week and had the most amazing experience. We were seated immediately and the waitress came right over and was very attentive all night, making sure that we had food at all times and that our wine glasses were always full. In addition to the great service, the food was perfect. the apps were just the right size. Each entree was great. The skirt steak was cooked perfectly and melted like butter in my mouth. The sea bass had crispy skin and the fish was still flaky."

  • "I came here for brunch last October and had a good experience but just went back this passed Monday for Restaurant week with my girl friends and we were blown away by how great everything was! The service was very friendly, the food and drinks were delectable, all in all a GREAT experience. Highly recommend the Arepas, Fish Tacos, and the Nina Fresa (cocktail) (a must have!)"

  • "I lost my voice screaming at my dining partner, but I'm an oldie. Suitable for young 20-somethings that want to have unlimited cocktails for an hour during brunch and Mexican eats. Food was good."

  • "The food is terrific. Of the 4 items on the menu, each one was top-notch. However, the chef's talents get drowned out by the decibel level, so we will not be going back. A lively place is good. But when you combine loud music, lively bartending (shaking the drinks was an event unto itself, if you happened to notice it above the rest of the noise), extremely packed-in tables (like many NYC restaurants), and nothing on the floor/walls/ceiling to absorb the noise, it is painful to the ears and distracts from the experience. Customers at other tables were screaming just to converse with others in their party, which resulting in an evening of listening to others' conversations. Waitstaff practically had to yell. They should focus-on food!"

  • "Way too loud for any party greater than 2 people. Food was excellent flavorful and well portioned. Beers were $6.00."

  • "While the hostess was very nice, the rest off the staff was slow. Steak came over cooked. Server brought the drinks very slowly when we were there for the unlimited drink brunch. They also brought the wrong drinks/ drinks that were supposed to be the same but there was a clear day and night difference between them. I have been here before and it wasn't like this, just a disappointing brunch this weekend."

  • "The food and service were great. It's not cheap and it's really, really noisy, but we had a great time. Nicholas is a blast, and the food is interesting and creative."

  • "I went here with my GF Saturday night. The food and drink are amazing, but it was just too dark inside the restaurant, especially in the back. The tables were candlelit, but it was not enough. We needed the iPhone flashlight to read the menu. Aside from that, I'd definitely recommend this place. Drinks are delicious, and I highly recommend the suckling pig."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "Have been there a couple of times and really enjoy the great Latin-inspired food. Salmon ceviche especially nice. Service always friendly and attentive, including (on recent visit) manager Nicholas. Lively bar scene and noise level fine despite small crowded tables."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "We're not looking for a zen-garden like atmosphere but YBP is WAY TOO LOUD!!! NEED TO SPEAK AT THE TOP OF YOUR VOICE TO BE HEARD. Service was good, food ranged from really outstanding (the cool cocktails, my fish tacos starter, my sucking pig main) to mildly disappointing (my wife's sashimi-like cerviche starter and quinoa/kale salad main). Worth it if you don't mind the noise."

  • "The food was very good, but the service was snobby. Possibly it was because it was a trendy-ish place so most of them had an attitude. It was not a welcoming place, but again, the food was very good. Having said that, I probably won't go back. "

  • "Yerba Buena Perry is always a welcome Brunch spot for me. The staff is always friendly and ensures that your party has not only a lovely meal but a lovely experience. Along with their Unlimited Brunch Cocktail hour, I've had the croquettes de queijo, ensalada de pollo, and pan dulce for Brunch and loved them. For dinner, the steak and trio of fries is a must have!"

  • "The food was great and the ambience was perfect. We were a party of 8 and everyone loved their choices. My favorites.: tuna tartare, guacamole as an app and the cod as the main. Will be back!! "

  • "I wanted to take my date out for her birthday & dinner and she suggested YBP being she had been there a few times and knowing my style and energy. She made the right choice, vibrant & energetice atmosphere. Everything from the crowed enjoying a Saturday night out to the bottle of wine we choose with the help of our knowledgeable server to the great choices of food was nerar perfect. I give YBP a 9 out of 10. Only drawback i had was trouble conversating because it was a high noise level between the crowd and the music but that's to be expected when you dine at a place like YBP it's hip & trendy. I will 100% be back, if you're looking for energy along with really good food and drink this is the place."

  • "Most essential: the food is excellent. It's kinda counter-intuitive, but the watermelon fries really are exceptional (so are the avocado and hearts-of-palm...). The evening we ate at Yerba Buena, there were four large-ish parties in the restaurant, and the noise level grew and grew (more people, more need to talk loud, then the more need to talk very loud, etc); and the service was a little distracted, but if anything too quick (but with that noise, lingering pleasantly wasn't really an option...). Still: good food..."
