The best lechon (suckling pig) in NYC, hands down. Fantastic oxtail with room temperature udon noodles and poached egg -- do not miss that dish. A side order of deep fried watermelon fries. Genius. And for dessert, dulce de Leche filled crepe with a scoop of chocolate chip pistachio ice cream. Yummy.

I have been to the Perry Street location which was memorable, so I was happy to try this location. We all noted how attentive and friendly the staff was. The drinks were creative and very good, along with the food menu as well. Also, it is a small, intimate space, but it was not noisy at all - a factor which I love.

Very gracious and friendly host, he gave us a choice of 3 available tables . Staff also prompt and courteous, yet never seemed to crowd us. The pisco cocktails we chose were fruity and delicious. Parrilla and paella both favorful, not run of the mill.

The first thing you notice at YB is the warm welcome. Somehow, the manager, maitre di, and servers make you feel you've been invited to their home for dinner. It's a sophisticated but unpretentious environment, which is reflected by the menu, as well. We chose to sample a number of appetizers and sides rather than go for a main entree. All was beautifully displayed and so tasty. Don't miss the YB salad, no matter what you choose.

Julian Medina is one of the most consistently creative and phenomenal chefs in nyc (he also owns Toloache). The staff is super friendly and attentive. I have had many dishes on the menu, and every time a fantastic dining experience. Save room for dessert. Always amazed at how reasonably priced this amazing meal is.

Had an amazing little birthday party here. My party of 4 was very well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious. Unique and fun place. We went on a Sunday made a reservation for 8pm. If you like spicy drinks like me, you'll LOVE the Poquito Picante. I'm not even a fan of Gin but, this drink is just yumminess. Croquetes de Queijo were very tasty for a start and of course we got the watermelon fries too.. how could anyone not want to at least try that? I suggest getting the trio of fries so you can try all the other unique combinations. My friends brought a cake and it came out with singing staff, a giant sparkle candle to blow out and a free glass of champagne. I'm looking forward to going back to try brunch sometime soon.

I could not have asked for a better surprise than the experience of Yerba Buena. Coming from Boston And taking New York family out for dinner I wanted some thing special. The food is excellent, every dish prepared with Fresh ingredients and the best spices. Couple that with an owner like Giovany, a maitre de like Angel and excellent service, It made for a celebration to remember. You will be greeted and treated with warmth and grace.

I usually go to Yerba Buena on Perry Street, but haven't been there for awhile. The food here seemed tired. I remember the rice and beans being delicious at Perry Street. Here it was "eh" - like any old Mexican place. The guacamole was ok. The fish tacos still were excellent, however.

Also, the wait staff were very attentive .. overall, great date spot for someone you really love!

First time at this restaurant and will be back soon. The food was so delicious and drinks were creative. The fish tacos were the best I ever had. The calamari was to die for. They had a wonderful spice with a tasty dipping sauce. I had the cod and it was perfectly cooked with a nice flavorful glaze. My husband had the paiella and loved it. Surprise ending was a pineapple with small Roman candle to celebrate my birthday. The service was also terrific. Overall a wonderful experience.

and a good deal for the $. Guac and 2 ceviches were excellent and quite distinctive. Roast suckling pig was very good. Best flan I've had in a while. And a pet peeve, decent choices for wbg ...... finally. I wish more restaurants would get that right. Not every table is gonna buy a bottle, so at least have some decent wbg if you're gonna charge $10 or more a glass. Not too big and not cramped either. Great staff.

I stopped here for drinks and apps months ago w/out-of-town friends before a UCB show, having seen this place listed in many places over the years-finally got there-really good, so I brought my bro and his daughter there for bday dinner--not disappointed. My abuela was Columbian, no ceviche in my background--but they ate every morsel of his arepas and short ribs app and his arroz con pollo-nice wine list--only disappointment--no aguardiente after dinner--Zacapa rum good sub. I'll go back!

Absolutely love the atmosphere, food and service! A group of friends and I got together for a late bday celebration. Our waiter caught wind of this and surprised the entire table with a bday song and small desert at the end. I thought that was very thoughtful since no one asked. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. Will definitely return.

I rarely write reviews, but felt like I needed to. We had a 9PM reservation for 4 on Saturday night. We got there to find that half of the dining area had been cleared out because the ceiling was leaking. I had called before we got there to say we were a minute or two late, and there was NO mention of the issue. We stood around for 15 minutes before we were finally seated. You'd think that they'd fall all over themselves to make it up to us, but we saw the waiter no more than 4 times the whole night. The manager did come and apologize, but given we racked up a $300+ bill, I think it would've been reasonable to expect at least one round of drinks comped or something. Very disappointing overall; I'll stick to the Perry St one.

We were celebrating our anniversary and decided to go to Yerba Buena. From the moment we entered, we were treated so kindly and the management staff were so personable. The manager came over to ask how we were enjoying our meal and thank us for choosing to dine with them. I also noticed they went to other tables to greet other diners as well. Our waiter, along with the manager came out to wish us happy anniversary, with a flare candle in one of our desserts. Why I am rating this resturant 5 stars- not only was the service amazing, but the food was cooked to perfection, delicious and creative. My husband and I dine out frequently and I have never enjoyed every aspect of my dinning experience as I did at Yerba Buena.

Yerba Buena is a little long in the tooth. Design-wise. The room is a bit cramped, full of table and seating choices that harken back to an earlier long forgotten East Village day. That aside, everything else about our meal was fantastic. The service was attentive and friendly, from the hostess to our server to the manager - everyone made sure that we were happy, well cared for and enjoying the food. Which was fantastic. Homey classics with an obviously well trained hand crafting them into toothsome satisfying plates. We had a great time. We'd definitely go back.

This east village Peruvian/Cuban fusion eatery has outstanding service, great food and delicious cocktails. The menu is not extensive but the variety is strong and each of the dishes are just right in every way, presentation, taste and portions. Try either the Sucking pig (think pulled porch) or the Black Cod. Great sides are fried avocado, fried watermellon, brussel sprouts. But even before you start to eat, try one of their cocktails. The bartender enlists servers as auxillary shakers as these wonderful rum, gin or tequilla concotions are deightful and act as the perfect introduction to the ambiance and meal. One thing that stands out is the fact that service is excellent from waiters to busboys, and the manger is present throughout

YOU MUST GO! You will love this place. I came here to celebrate my birthday last Tuesday. I booked the reservation the same day and just hours before arriving, I decided to move it an hour up. I called them and they had no problem with it! I arrive there and was greeted in a friendly and respectful manner. Our server came immediately to us and introduced himself. The place is cozy, elegant but with a modern vibe to it. The service was great and the food-phenomenal. As a born and raised Puerto Rican: I had the arroz con pollo and it was delicious. The manager was beyond amazing: attentive and helpful absolutely loved my birthday celebration and was glad I chose this place. I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat.
